Solid Snake (main character of 1, 2, and 4), Liquid Snake (main badguy in 1 and 4 (didn't play mgs4 I don't totally know honestly)), and Solidus Snake (main badguy of mgs2). Naked Snake is Big Boss (the guy you see in the trailer). Those 4 Snakes just mean that there's gonna be co-op gameplay. (PHEW that's a lot of words)

I have been a fan since 1998 and played every MG game, including the older ones. I just hate the direction the MG series is going.

Most of the MGS fans right now feel downtrodden after the disaster that was MGS4. Fans hate that game, as well as Portable Ops.

MGS4 was a total disaster story-wise. Never has an MGS game been so blunt and lacking mystery. Cutscenes lasting 20 min or more in length occurred way too frequently. The whole Drebin system being terribly broken. The fact that ridiculous answers were given to questions fans had or ludicrous conclusions in each character's story. (Meryl getting married, Big Boss returning only to give a 40 min monologue and die immediately after.)

Nanomachines were words I hated hearing over and over again. That was the back door explanation to everything.

Try browsing some message boards and talk to some people in game stores or find other MGS fans. The majority of the ones I have come in contact with reacted negatively to MGS4 and hate the way the series ended. The only ones who liked it were non-fans of the series. Most fans hate the game. Myself included.

If you can, try taking some opinion polls on major game websites.
