  • sweet axe! plek it!

  • ...Not very good in my opinion. I'd rather go with a semi-hollow SE from PRS.

  • i want a framus

  • How about TV Jones on this kind of guitar? ;)

  • yea, paul is the best. he obviously does his homework

  • "German maker Framus" Framus is Hungarian

  • @SPeeDDarkGuitarHero

    Since 1946 in Germany, Erlangen

  • Yes the frets are really one of the most likable things about all Framus guitars, giving so much dynamic and playing sensitivity.

    Love,

    Ana

  • @analogic10 The complete neck is a wonder for each FRAMUS !!!!

  • tune it please!!

    ¬¬

what a nice guitar and you play the gayest song of the world..!!!!

  • @vicecitymodgameridol

    sounded fine to me

  • Beautiful guitar, but not crazy about the tone, until it is heavily processed at the end.

  • it sound terrible

  • Is it just me or does this guy make everything he touches sound like shit? He's almost as mad as that fat twat Simon Bradley from Guitarist magazine!!!

  • Who the fuck calls it a "Finger board". Honestly. FRET BOARD PAUL. FRET BOARD. Every amp he demos sounds the same from the way they go about micing it up. He's such a damn hack.

  • Call me old- fashioned if you like ( and incidentally I own a Mayfield at the present time) but surely, he is using so many effects that really, ANY guitar could sound like this?... I did laugh at his "clean" tones, I sure wouldn't like to hear any of his dirty ones ( or be his next door neighbour, come to think about it)... He says "check it out", remember to check out the Gibson 339 which does seem REMARKABLY similar.

  • @incongra, you might be right but this guitar is really very similar to the Gibson 339

  • Does this guy ever play in standard tuning? All his demos sound either dropped or wacked-out tunings.

  • Sounds nice, but i'd try a setting of Amp/Effects with less Mids and Treble. The Guitar Itself has enought of those.

  • neck pup is dark, bridge pup is bright on clean well balanced guitar would love 2 have 1

  • jajaja Cliffs of dover like solo

  • thats the guitar i was looking for... awesome!

  • Framus rocks

  • He's a pretty damn good player especially when compared to some of the other guys doing reviews.

  • that guitar looks sweet

  • hes better than any of the guys from world music supply

  • word! hahaha

the guys at world music supply would do a better job of wiping their asses with the guitars they're playing than actually playing the instruments hahah!

  • i think that is paul's fault becoz he can't play jazz at all and this is a jazz guitar...

  • the clean makes me want to pwn myself.

  • the GW videos always have awful clean tones, he always says "here's the clean sound" and there's a ton of dirt on it. To me clean is clean, no breakup at all.

  • Could be the humbuckers. Single coils are better for relatively low gain clean sounds. I find it's a lot cleaner when he reviews a strat or similar guitar.

  • its youtube man, if you were there in person it would be a lot better sounding

  • @Moltisanti i would still call those tones clean, but i agree that he should use even cleaner tones to capture the guitars full capabilities

  • @Moltisanti the clean tone in this video on the neck pickup is beautiful. even the breakup on the bride is beautiful, but i guess that is crunch

  • i like the look of that,

just with some metal soundin semour duncans.

    haha

  • i refuse to believe that the clean sounds sooo shitty, prolly it's a bad amp setting.. dunno.

  • The clean is a completly shit! Strato is better than this and the price is lower than this guitar! The distorsion is pretty good...

  • Wow, that guitar's sick as fuck, the clean setting wasn't that bad, but the middle and high gain and solo effect sounded amazing. That guy demonstrating is really good too.

  • tom morello should occasionally use this

  • clean sounds like pure fuckin cow shit but everything else sounds pretty damn good

  • what amp is this played through?

  • If anyone from "Guitar World" reads these comments would you please tell us what amp Paul is playing this guitar thru? Please??

  • i thought the blues gain sounded great

  • I played a Framus Panthera one time. It costs about 2200€ and the guitar was/is awesome.

  • lols sounds like shit on cleen ever thing else is better hahaa!

  • probly great for jazz

  • Weird hollow bodies usually sound great clean and crappy with high gain, but this guitar is the opposite.

  • a lot of newer designed holowbodies dound fine high gain.

  • clean - horrible

    blues gain - 5/10

    high gain - great

    solo setting - 11/10

sounds like a good guitar for metal, but the body doesn't look so metal

the whole thing - ill give it a 7/10

  • this guy seems kinda fruity. And he needs to take off that hat.

  • who cares? he can shred a helluva lot better than you

  • andy is better when demo-ing gears

  • wow, the high gain sound way better than the clean, but on clean is like wtf xD

this guitar is awesome for rock and metal stuff, and some blues, sucks at clean, the clean tone is HORRIBLE! like gibson dirty fingers

  • i dont know what everyong is bitching about, sounds just like every other semi hollow guitar ive ever heard. clean and dirty

  • sounds great, but the body design is to common

  • that solo setting sounds mad

i woulda thought it woulda given a better clean sound than it did.. but oh well

think ill stick with my strat

  • yeah it's a really different sounding clean, I also think he might be strumming to hard, but who knows.

  • good to see paul shredding in this one! I didnt know he had it in him lol

  • gain sounds the best

  • clean sound is horrible

  • I agree completely. It has to be his settings though, cause those are both good pickups. The Jazz in a semi-hollow body guitar should sound amazing. I've never been impressed with the tones he gets out of most of the guitars he demos...

  • passive pickups are very smooth

  • of course it uses the plek machine! Why wouldn't it since both are made in germany?

  • does anyone know the price of this guitar??

  • LIST PRICE: $4,000.00

Found this at the Guitar World website. I am sure retail prices vary in the US. But this would be a ballpark figure.

  • Frames rocks, must own one!

  • omaghad the sound<3

  • love the last sentence!

  • Gorgeous, I hope I can get one for my rig.

  • it sounds good, but i just do like the designs of these sort of guitars

  • Awesome.

  • I think that that guitar is more of a country rock guitar than a big solo rock guitar. Especially as it has a maple body.

  • A guitar is a guitar, it is how you apply it.

  • a guitar is not just a guitar all guitars r different in sound tone and eveything a guitar is suposed to be special to its owner

  • Of course it is. I was just stating that one guitar is not meant for just one thing. A guitar is as versitile as the guitarist

  • I would think an all maple guitar with an ebony board would be a lot brighter than that....

I don't really care for the JB, but it sounds pretty good.

  • lol

  • It has a mahogany center block

  • That's true, I think it sounds great!

I would swap the pups though

  • For what? There Duncans, not some no name pickups

  • I know, but a JB is 16k which, IMO is WAY too hot for a semi-hollow.

I would put a set of 59's in...

  • (oh thank god, you know about guitars. I honestly thought you were going to say "I'll put (insert pickup name here) because that's what (insert trendy band name here) uses." My appologies for assuming)

Ideally, I would put a 59 and Custom V in there but as is, it would be great

  • I keep hearing that the Custom 5 is wonderful, I need to try it!

I like the JB a lot too, just not in a semi-hollow.

  • If you think the JB is too hot and you love the 59 but want something with more output in the bridge you really should go for the Custom 5.

  • wow that's magical

  • The medium gain sounds a lot like jimi hendrix.

  • wohoooo! the first comment!

this looks like a great guitar! and it sounds good to! :)

  • Made in Germany. That sentence is still an institution ;)
