People don't seem to understand that the iPhone can only use shitty video recording if it's hacked. It can't send or receive MMS messages. It can't copy and paste text messages. It doesn't have instant E-Mail, either. The iPhone only checks for e-mails every 15 minutes, unlike the BB which has instant e-mail. :D

You're right about the first part. Unfortunately video recording is only possible with a jailbroken iPhone. But really, is video recording that important? A cell camera? Not really...

You could try to count that as multitasking, but the iPhone can do more than that. If you want to it can follow your example exactly and stream music while you're chatting and downloading a file. Works like a charm.

I realize there's no working push service at the moment, I said that as well... But it's coming!

apple them selves said they did not include multi-tasking even in 3.0 "because of battery life and system memory" And yes camera is that important when it replaces your digital camera. nothing to say about 3G?

Everythings possible if you want it. Of course multi-tasking depletes the battery a lot quicker. That's why Apple didn't include it, but with a few tools that you can install on your iPhone it's possible.

The real power of 3G only became interesting as soon as the iPhone 3G was introduced. Before that point the networks from whatever provider you have where you live were definitely not as big and powerful as they are due to the iPhone.

Dropping one's call has absolutely nothing to do with 3G. Calls are placed over the regular connection, not 3G, wifi or Edge.

With the iPhone you can choose which (sorry, I don't quite know how to say this) providers grid to use. So basically it's up to you. (at least in Germany, I can't say anything definite about the US)

Wait what...? Okay, calls can be made over 3G. That is why there is 3G Voice and 3G Data. Of course, I don't know a lot and requires a lot of reading to understand the difference between them. Anyways, here in the US, Sprint and Verizon had already rolled out 3G Voice/Data before ATT started "hyping" it. So to say, the iPhone made it "shine" is a lie in the states. Cause Sprint and Verizon users already had 3G Voice/Data.

Since cpuking is on CDMA, the argument is very complicated, since GSM 3G Data is HSPDA on the iPhone and on CDMA it is EVDO, now 3G Voice, well as far as I know on GSM 3G Voice would be UMTS, as for CDMA, I don't know. I know it cant be EVDO as that is Data only, but I could be wrong. However, going back, Verizon does have better coverage 3G Voice/Data wise here in the states.

Now, I am on Sprint, so calling me a fanboy for Verizon wont work haha. But overall, 3G has existed in Verizon and Sprint before the ATT hyped it up in it's commercials, causing Sprint and Verizon to mention it in it's commercials as well, just to keep customers. Anyways, 3G is just a standard, whether Voice or Data.

you're thinking the 2 3G's are exactly the same. They're not, HSDPA 3G is generally a lot faster, and if you hop on over to Europe (and most other places in the world, except North America for some reason), HSDPA is the dominant frequency and CDMA is almost nowhere to be found. Just a bit of clarification :)

I've never used BlueTooth, but I know it's there, but I have NO CLUE what it does. But What's the point of syncing via BT? All it does is bring the battery at it's knees, esp. if 3G is enabled. And it'd be painfully slow, since most people are gonna take advantage of the 8-16GB memory built in, and they'll have ALOT of music & videos! I have 431 songs, that's an ass load! I love my iPhone 3G!
