Atheist people wanting to be apart of the Atheist movement of rational thought and education, it makes no sense to argue with these people... save your breath. What will happen is as time passes by science will grow, we will learn more, and discover more. Science has that capacity because it has no bias other than the truth unlike Religion who has no capacity to grow. He is pretty much retired from biological research; this is why he is known as emeritus (look it up) professor for public understanding of science. I do see your reasons for being critical of the current stance of the US perfectly reasonable if somewhat off i also see those reason as being very temporary if they are not fixed it will lead the US down a path none want (At least those in a proper state of mind) and I think the US populace (contrary to popular opinion) are smart enough to recognize and will take the proper safeguards to ensure our safety and very soon an unprecedented growth in our society.
So although the US debt is very troubling there is little the US to do but just fix it there is no alternative and can't be put in the backseat especially with the US populace being foremost concerned with jobs and the wellbeing in the economy.Even if the US does take longer to fix it then it should and leads to a significant retardation of the economy the US will still be the most influential and powerful country on Earth until at least the middle of the century at least.

It's fun to think of the USA as a corroding nation, but it helps to have some perspective: Although the United States is definitely in a decline, it still manages one of the world's highest incomes per capita, it still has a power presence in foreign markets, and it still exerts a powerful cultural and political influence on other countries.

The US economy today is at the level it was in before wall street fucked it up 2008 (without the millions of unemployed workers) America is far from decline the rest of the world is just finally catching up. Plus all the foolish regulations that actually intentionally limit the growth of the economy to keep it "stable" plus all the new tech that is coming (biotech,nanotech etc.) I think will come America a dominant if not the dominant power in the world for the next 50 years

It isn't a 'stable' growth. You are living on your credit card and not paying it off. Soon, you won't even be able to make the payments - just like Greece. Then, no one will want your dollars, and the value of the dollar will drop even more significantly then it has in the last 6 years.

Even without a microscope back in Darwin's time. It was understood that for life to exist and evolve, a single cell was necessary. To date, as far as I am aware, no one has isolated that cell.

I am saying it is rotting from the inside out. I see a similar end to the USA as with USSR (or ancient Roman Empire). Spending money it doesn't have on it's military; printing money galore to support a massive import/export imbalance.
At some point, the infrastructure will no longer support its outward appearance and it will collapse.

The US debt to GDP ratio was around 35% in 1980, 65% in 2000 and over 100% now.
It isn't a 'stable' growth. You are living on your credit card and not paying it off. Soon, you won't even be able to make the payments - just like Greece. Then, no one will want your dollars, and the value of the dollar will drop even more significantly then it has in the last 6 years.

Gravity is "just a theory", also. Evolution is a fact as far as science is concerned. Even without a microscope back in Darwin's time. It was understood that for life to exist and evolve, a single cell was necessary. To date, as far as I am aware, no one has isolated that cell.
As for Darwin and the transition from one life form to another....in theory I agree. However, I would be more convinced if fossil's were more prevalent to support his claims.
Dawkins refutes creationism...lame at the very least.
