Never heard of fish being shot before! My uncle caught a 465lb Porbeagle shark thirty years ago (shark angling and at that time a record) in England but never shot the thing! Not being a pussy but it dont seem right. Also fished for a living myself at one time. Besides which the fish still kicked like hell!

they get a lot bigger before tasting gamey and tough. I would never stand over the fish like that guy. I'd minimize the fish beating itself up ,it reduces the quality. Hit it in the Tail. This will also preserve the Cheeks :the most prized part of the great fish.
