What a Huge Mistake to Cancel this Show. It should come back as a Big Budget Feature Film. The New show has been off the air for over 2 years now. It was a Good show tha tneeded to be made. But it got too depressing.

the idea of machines turning against man is not a new idea BTW. Star trek had stories about that even as early as the 60s. the idea may come from the movie ''Metropolis'' a silent sci-fi movie from 1927. where there is a scientist wants to create a live-like robot. this robot is then sent to kill people.

I dunno. I tried to watch the original series. But it just does not compare to the re-imagined. It's like watching M*A*S*H in space. Plot & character development, all star acting, a feeling of illusive mysticism, and fantastic directing from Michael Rhymer just blows the original away.

Its a mute point. They are almost completely nothing alike. Thats why fans of the original tend not to care much for the new show. Lack of interest, not a disregard for technical superiority. I'm sure that the new show is probably okay. I find it boring. And I suspect that had I never seen the original BG, the new one would still not interest me. Its just not my bag baby.

Fyi, the Cylon Centurions were voiced by Michael Santiago using the EMS Vocoder 2000 Beta and a (electric) saxophone!!! Originally they were going to use Lou Ferrigno and run his voice with either or both the hissing of a rattlesnake or cobra, and run them through a ring-modulator.

The 1978 series was the better one. 1980 was where they landed on Earth and just got really hokey from there. The series was also re-imagined for Sci-Fi recently and featured a whole different story line with similar characters to the original, save for a couple of gender changes.
