I am planning a VERY similar arm gun for an armor style costume. what kind of pressure were you able to place in this system? also, what kind of projectiles did you fire? I planned to pressurize mineral oil or possibly a TINY amount of dry ice inside the pressure tank. (mine is pressure rate steel pipe) and to fire painted nerf darts. That way, every shot would have a small cloud of "fog" and it could double as a mini fogger to carry under my cape.
Looks fantastic. Any plans for a tutorial, or at least a descriptive narration on a longer video? A little more time seeing it shoot would be fantastic too! Such a tease, showing all the parts, then one shot that we can't see and ending the film!
@Dentarthurdent54 They convert sotred chemichal energy from battery acid to electrical energy creating a charge when the contact point of the battery meets the contact point of another electrical apliance.
in the age of steam, they had already mastered gun powered, slings, bows, crossbows, balistas of so many varities your head wud explode, steam punch tech wudnt waste time carrying a how many pound tank, when cud carry a autocross bow, or minaturised automatic balista, if steam punk is based on early industrial revolution (like real steam tech, excluding the greek stuff) they had the hand crank gatling gun, already used by various armys)
@apex2000 yo man steampunk is all about having fun geeking around go take your stuck up your ass ideas to the doctor, have them come out, then come back
@shadowdragonXXXXXXX im not being stuck up.. i was curious the boundrys of the steam punk theme (hense the notation of a real exsisting fiction... heck maybe someone cud have pointed me inderection of a good example of steam punk story featuring a wrist gun)
trust me if you cud see me dvd collection, ud realise im about as laid back as can be, also means i ponder the possibilities.
Interesting...it gives me ideas for other possibilities. Just making sure, but is that a compressed air chamber with a battery operated release valve? Some of the parts look similar to that of a sprinkler system. Its surprising there is enough power to shoot wine corks. From the looks of it there seems to be a air pump hook up; how many shots you get out of it before needing to pump more air in?
Well this answers a few questions about the Victorian age, and poses many more. Like where President Abraham Lincoln's AA batteries went for his T.V. remote.
Niiiice. I can picture a steampunk Star Wars like that! Wouldn't that be exciting? And to theSEVENFOLDisLIFE, Steampunk is an old-meets-new type styling much in the way of Joules Verne writings, where turn-of-the-century tech is used to fashion weapons and gadgets which are more modern. Example: using a steam engine to fashion a wrist gun, a' la this video. Hope this helps.
What I like is that this is actually a functional weapon. I really dislike "toys" that serve no purpose, I prefer an "artistic utilitarian" approach to steamworks.
i need one in which the whole assembly fits on one arm and fires a 6mm metal bb at around 2500 fps preferably witha solar panel and small electric air pump to fill the compressor
at first i thought it said wrist watch(i read to quick >o<) an i was like holy shit gaint ass wrist watch....that fires lazers?! then looked back at top an its a wrist gun XD LOL id kill to have one of thos XD
@SpiritofAdventure22 It's a little something for the people that want to live in the old days, but with a few electronic perks...Thats my interpretation at least!
@SpiritofAdventure22 well for those who are not informed it is a genre combining the victorian era with sci fi like if the future happened in the passed.
Remember, you have to wear a turtle neck for this to work.
