Starscream in the Armada series was a great character, almost surpassing Optimus. He tried to make a change, he knew that being a Decepticon wasn't right. He tried to be an Autobot and I really did hope he would be one. It was ashame that his last effort of killing Unicron didn't work... I did hope he would have sacrificed himself for killing Unicron, not die in vain...

He didn't really die in vain though. They got unicorn so even though what he attempted didn't work and he lost his life...the other still avenged his death by defeating the thing that killed him! So I guess you could think of it as if they fought for starscream.

Unicron gave Starscream a mutation in his spark which rendered him indestructible... He never dies just goes into a ghost like mode which can possese other bots till he finds a new shell

Unicron didn't give him a mutation, his spark was abnormal naturally. He was a ghost before he came into contact with Unicron.
