i stayed at a hotel where the 1st floor had a door in the back and if you hit rear door open on 1 it would say call locked.

it means that you dont have access to the floor (you have to have your hotel room key with you) to get to the floor

Guess. The controller would not move the elevator without a keycard, and on KONE lifts it says "Call Locked", indicating that the floor is locked.

Same thing at one of the Crowne Plaza hotels in Worcester, MA that I stayed at. Floor 9 was a staff floor, but there were guest rooms, so you needed a key card to get to the 9th floor, but the stairs weren't locked for floor 9.
