thumbs up if you get a headache every time you hear the word "prime" when talking about fighters. holyfield is STILL fighting today. what do you think he thinks about the "prime" excuse?
@blahblahfuckinblable Holyfield shud of retired years and years ago same for roy jones (not so for B - Hop however) Prime this and prime that bullshit, Holyfields way past it simple as that
@blahblahfuckinblable so you think a boxer is just as good at 45 then hat he was at 25 no ur just a retard the prime excuse is a good excuse coz its real when u get old or even if ur young bu have been throught alot ur skills start to evaporate
@dizzypilots1 exactly, some people reach their prime early, tyson was heavyweight champion of the world at 20 years old, youngest ever, when did holyfield win his first heavyweight title? at 26
@gangsta287 you know whats even better? all fighters have they're supposed "prime". and you know what else? rarely do they meet in their "primes". and you know what else? even when they do meet in their "primes" there will still be excuses. and you know what else? its boxing, excuses dont win fights. isnt that just amazing? guess what else? who gives a flying fuck about hypothetical prime fights when you can watch the actual fight take place and stop looking for excuses.
look that kind of talk is unnecessary, just leave it be, holyfield fought him when he could and you know what he won, might not prove anything but dont criticize him for winning, im sure at age 20 he would have punched you into a come, am i right?
@wertpollwert well unfortunately hypotheticals and "prime" excuses dont win fights. which is too bad, because to nearly every boxing fan on the planet i think they hold more merit then the actual fights that happen.
only 2 man realy beat George forman, they were MUhamed ali and Evander hofild. and only 2 man realy beat MikeTyson they were Buster Duglas and Evander Holifild. Holy is greitest champion i think
Holyfield was a great champion, I only wish he had not sold out to King after beating Tyson. First he sold out, then Lewis followed suit when he sold his WBA Title for a million bucks so Holyfield and Ruiz could fight for it.
I like Holyfield but the fans of Holyfield trying to discredit Lennox are ridiculous, Holyfield and Lennox are similiar except Lennox didn't get screwed out of his gold medal in the olympics both are technical and smart fighters, Lennox was a fighter who was avoided maybe the fights with Holyfield didn't happen soon enough but in both fights he did beat him and got screwed out the first time with horrible judging.
what ever say about him he never ducked anybody. I am most proud that he fought foreman. that was a no win fight for him. no matter how he would have won it would have been against an old man. if he lost there would have been no greatness attached to his name.I think in time when his career his reaccessed and people look at how many fighters holyfield fought that tyson ducked he will get his due not only with boxing experts but the general public that is was the best of his era.
This was a great tribute, well done. Evander is also my favorite fighter of all time (and likely will always be) and he's one of the few guys on earth I would actually feel blessed to meet. I'd be a little boy meeting santa klaus!
it was a privilage to watch holyfield throughout ant part of his career, from young up comer to seasoned vet....his skills changed for better or worse but the golden quality that remained was his heart, dedication, respect he had and the credibility he brought to boxing. a true champion
I think when you're not fleshy and outspoken, a la Muhammed Ali, people tend to overlook your accomplishments, when you're not as flamboyantly powerful and controversial, a la Mike Tyson, people underestimate your abilities, when you do it with heart, courage, dignity and undeniable work ethic as Holyfield has done, you certainly shouldn't be forgotten or underrated!
I will always be a Mike Tyson fan at heart but, Evander Holyfield may have been the best of all-time...In the day's of Muhammad Ali he had size/arm reach advantage vs everyone of he's opponents. (Yes Sonny Liston had a 80 plus arm reach but was 6'1" vs Ali 6'4" 80 arm reach...the taller the fighter the harder to hit)
Holyfield has no weakness in he's best of all time defense...Arm reach, Power, speed all didn't effect the ring general Evander
Thank you for such a wonderful and inspiring video. What a video, what thought and effort you put in to making this video. My hat goes off to you. Please take note of my email address and keep in touch with me. It's inzar786@hotmail.com
Evander Holyfield is one of the greatest and it will never be forgotten.I will never forget him.Holyfield was also a very good man, an example to follow. We will be forever with you Evander, you are part of the top 10 fighters of all times!!! A TRUE LIVING LEGEND!!!! Greetings from Albania!!!!
I'm LOVIN this video because Holyfield is my favorite boxer as well and NO DISRESPECT to the G.O.A.T. Muhammad Ali and the rest of the great boxers from the GOLDEN AGE of boxing beecause there will NEVER be another age like it but I just love the fact that Holyfield has NEVER ducked a fighter and he held his titles humbely and in good stride and this video tells it JUST HOW I SEE IT AS WELL......GREAT JOB!!
Dude what is the name of the songs?? A lot of people asking for that, come on.. and show some respect like Holyfield made in his fights... Great video by away.
you dont have to look at his stats. look at who he has beat like tyson or foreman. evern lewis wasnt able to knock this guy out. he may be not perfect but he's my idol. i am a boxer in germany i am 16 years old and have beaten everyone in my career till now. I AM PROUD TO BE A FAN OF HOLYFIELD ! ! ! (sory for bad english)
unfortunatelly for evander he fought in a time of great heavyweights. He will probably be someone people who know boxing talk about but the general public have no idea of. Great Boxer, great talent and deserves more respect
@HiMyNameIsRoss ask a bunch of people then. Do some research, get back to me. IMO people know his name but not WHO he is or what he achieved. Most people will just think he was the guy that mike took a bite out of
@Imreadingthisaloud i disagree. i think in time he will be recognized as the greatest fighter of his era. If jim lampley can say it who contnually whines about the lewis holyfield draw i think there is hope. Yes jim lampley said holyfield was the greatest fighter of the last fifteen years.

@natebooce: I wouldn't say that Lewis was a better boxer. Perhaps a better tactical fighter. Better ring general. Lewis had tremendous natural gifts, and he understood how to use them to his advantage as well as anyone. He knew better than to let Holyfield turn their fights into a slug fest. Lewis maintained range, and everytime Holy got close, Lewis tied up. Smart boxing. That said. I'm not much of a Lewis fan. I respect him, but this video says it all. This is what it's all about right here.
might not be the best heavyweight but the greatest pound for pound fighter ever. The first Bowe fight he was 205 and bowe was 232. His three fights with bowe ruined Bowe's career. Listen to him now he is almost a vegtable
It's amazing the lack of respect Evander gets historically. People jack off to Tyson's early meatball ko's and make excuses for the guy (jail, rooney, don king etc.) but make no mistake - Evander Holyfield was the best hvwt of the last 20 years. He fought and/or beat every great fighter - including "iron mike" twice. Knocked out buster in 1 round (yeah, B.D was not in shape but stil...). Toss in George foreman and bowe fights (2 guys tyson never even fought). E.H is top ten all time.
IN the ring.... Larry Holmes #1 , Evander Holyfield #2. Ignore the gimmicks and watch their fights, in the ring these 2 would beat any other heavyweight if they fought them 10 times.... they would beat them 8 out of 10 times.

OMG! Riddick Bowe beat the living hell out of Evander!! I wish this Bow had fought the Buster Douglas that beat Tyson. That would be a must see!! Both as same size and style.
@wFVIPU9GBSEIPBPWbipe I never suggested Mike Tyson had more courage or even that he's 1 of the top 3 heavyweights ever, I only said Mike Tyson could punch harder
@wFVIPU9GBSEIPBPWbipe When I refer to these matchups, I am talking about both fighters being in their prime. A washed up Ali, lost to Trevor Berbick as well as Leon Spinks. Even though Ali won the rematch with Spinks, many felt he washed up at that point in his career.
@wFVIPU9GBSEIPBPWbipe Remember Toney tested positive for steroids a short time later. Also Holyfield was washed up when he fought Toney who's also an all time great middleweight/crusierweight. Toney was out of shape for some unacceptable reason when he fought Roy.
man geat video I cant stop watching it 9/10 but the only problem that it said at the end "in a time where champions hand pick their opponents" wtf? there was a beast comeing from all over the world in the 90s and everyone was fighting everyone. who in that time hand picked there opponents?
I'm proud to have Evander Holyfield and Muhammad Ali as my greatest inspiration and my idols for the sport of boxing which is one of the main reasons why I'm competing for boxing and my heart will never leave this sport with all these great boxers/athletes even though the ones we have right now are horrible comparing to the Joe Louis' to young Evander Holyfield's era
@CtotheOban yeah but most of the trash talkers such as Muhammad Ali does that just to sell tickets but talks clean trash which is why Ali is Charismatic and Holyfield is charisimatic too but no where near the charisma level of Ali or Sugar Ray Leonard but still one of the greatest boxers of all time and regardless of Holyfield that's not so charismatic his fights are still entertaining as hell to watch.
It's not how hard you hit but how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward! That's how winning is done! - Rocky Balboa aka Sylvester Stallone
Definitely 1 of the top 3 heavyweights ever in my opinion, he didn't have the fancy footwork of Muhammad Ali or the concussive punch power of Mike Tyson but if there was ever a fighter who made the most of everything he had, it was him.
@EvanderHolyfield7 If you can show me the part where I said he didn't have great footwork I would be appreciative, I never implied he had bad footwork, I said he didn't have the fancy footwork of Muhammad Ali and I stand by that fact
@waynenewell He's definitely in my top 10. I grew to respect him. He had incredible heart and he threw combinations like a middleweight. I think he would have outworked Ali.
He took too much punishment during his fights, and didn't have that much punch, he wasn't a natural heavyweight. He would won more recognition by staying under heavyweight division

@wFVIPU9GBSEIPBPWbipe I never suggested Mike Tyson had more courage or even that he's 1 of the top 3 heavyweights ever, I only said Mike Tyson could punch harder

Outstanding tribute to one of the greatest fighters that boxing ever knew.

Wow, I only just now found this. Incredible tribute to a great fighter.

Evander Holyfield i love ya... boxchamp with soul not with big mouth
CtotheOban 6 months ago

Definitely 1 of the top 3 heavyweights ever in my opinion, he didn't have the fancy footwork of Muhammad Ali or the concussive punch power of Mike Tyson but if there was ever a fighter who made the most of everything he had, it was him.
waynenewell 6 months ago 24
@waynenewell Man Holyfield had one of the best footwork what i have ever seen in heavyweight division
EvanderHolyfield7 6 months ago
@EvanderHolyfield7 If you can show me the part where I said he didn't have great footwork I would be appreciative, I never implied he had bad footwork, I said he didn't have the fancy footwork of Muhammad Ali and I stand by that fact
waynenewell 6 months ago
@waynenewell it wasnt offensive
EvanderHolyfield7 6 months ago
@waynenewell He's definitely in my top 10. I grew to respect him. He had incredible heart and he threw combinations like a middleweight. I think he would have outworked Ali.
CanvassBlack 5 months ago
@waynenewell top 3 heavy weights ?? are you nuts what happened to joe frazier, george foreman, muhammad, mike tyson,Wladimir Klitschko,Joe Louis etc.
Flowcap 5 months ago
@Flowcap how in the world can you put tyson and klitschko in that list geez
bobber0623 5 months ago
@bobber0623 you do know klitschko is the top heavyweight right now
Flowcap 5 months ago
@waynenewell amen to that.
ThaUtubeGangsta 4 months ago
He took too much punishment during his fights, and didn't have that much punch, he wasn't a natural heavyweight. He would won more recognition by staying under heavyweight division
karitakki 6 months ago
in his prime he was the greatest!!
