  • The top of those waves are reaching the top deck of that carrier.. those are some massive waves!! :O

  • My uncle is a navy camander

  • Don't worry, all their aircraft are chained down.

  • waves dont look like 90 feet

  • @330MillionGods obviously u havnt seen how big an aircraft carrier is

  • You'd think that salt water spraying with so much velocity would mess with that jet parked on deck.

  • Whats the Worlds WORST JOB?

Answer: Being that freakin' pole up-front :-D....the only way it gets dry... is through Jet Turbine blast :-P

  • I kept waiting for that jet to not be there anymore...

  • @nisnases It's locked down.

  • Well, this is in the open ocean with no reefs to create breakers, just mid-oceanic swells. And I'll that the jet covers can be pulled off in seconds!

  • Everyone's worrying about the F/A-18 getting a little wet, yet the Seahawk parked at the end is going through walls of water!

  • I was on the kittyhawk in 100 ft swells and hardly felt a thing. I worked on the 03 level and occasionally a chair would roll across the floor but that was about it. I was also on a pakistani fishing boat in 50 ft swells. now that made me barf.

  • The US has at least eleven of these boats and no money to run them. I wonder what the folks who used to be called 'Middle Class Americans' who are living in tents on the fringes of the cities of their former repossesed homes think of that now?

  • Sea water and 50 million dollar jet equals 50 dollar jet.

  • time to get my surfboard

  • smart... they keep a 50 million dollar jet outside in 90 foot waves...

  • Looks like they have a lot of cleaning in that helicopter. Salt will be everywhere, great for corrosion. Will take a few days before this one is operational again. The F-18 just needs an engine wash and outside cleaning, but it will be fine.

  • Hey Bob!! What is the weather outside?? ...eeh!? Rock and Roll baby!!

  • This is america right here!!

  • oh for fucks sake its a F13! you can even find it on your keyboard, duh!

  • F18

  • dude thats a F 15, would anyone care bringing the dogs in?

  • @BuddhaMaster84 Umm,,,think he,s hiding under the jet.Had his paw in his dog dish last time i looked.

  • Is this BF3? Can't tell.

  • where the Beef ??

  • That helicopter must be getting fucked

  • All I know is the sea state is pretty high and the Kitty Hawk is 81,000 tons and 1071 feet long. Somewhere out there not too far away are some tin cans that are 366 feet long and weight in at 2300 tons or so.

I've served on both and I'll take a can any day. I guess it's like the Marines vs. the Army. Ones lean and mean the other fat and slow. Did I really say that?

  • @ed76542 Ed....is that anything like what they did in the old days by dragging logs behind them to keep the ship straight in heavy seas?

  • @mastersduhgree

No. There are always small ships along to act as a screen/protection for the carrier from attack by submarines, air, or other surface ships. Usually several destroyers (tin cans), a cruiser, and most times an attack submarine.

  • I saw the Kitty Hawk pull into Pearl Harbor a few times when I was stationed at COMSUBPAC Staff there in the early 1970s. She was not nuclear powered, but she was a very large and proud ship.

  • WTF is that helicopter doing on the foredeck?!

  • @rietveen26 Getting a wash....???

  • nonsense.there is nothing called 90 foot seas, only occasional 90 foot rogue waves.and this sea shown on the video cannot be more than 35-40 feet.

  • @thunderheart111 If you've been out there like I have, 35 to 40 feet is pretty goddamn snotty, even on a carrier!

  • All that salt spray cannot be healthy for the fighter jet

  • Using the heli like a bead to keep er lined up aye. Maybe some green eggs and ham fer lunch boys.

  • Using the heli like a bead to keep er lined up aye.

  • Well, if you are going be in 90 ft seas, and aircraft carrier is the ship to do it in.

  • The Helicopter...like a boss!

  • Considering the flight deck is 60 feet up ......that's rock and roll....We lost planes over the side during typhoons in WestPac in spite of them having Hurricane tie down chains !

  • I'd have stored the planes below

  • What about the helicopter?

  • Look out for Perfect Storm episode of 'I Shouldn't Be Alive' coming soon on Animal Planet US.

  • Wow, the biggest waves I`ve seen these are actually in the movie called The Perfect Storm.

  • hahahahahaha corrosion control is gonna be busy.

  • maybe bring that 50million dollar jet inside?

  • @RandyLahey911 yeah man i hope that jet was secured firmly....

  • @RandyLahey911 Nah, it's 1 of the jets they are giving to the Israelis

  • @RandyLahey911 i dont like the fact its so close to the edge aswell haha

  • that ship is 201 feet above the water. keep that in mind when you see the waves washing over the deck.

  • @poopypenisfagfag

it doesnt swim on the water?? *scnr*

  • @poopypenisfagfag The deck is not 201ft above the water. The tower might be, but not the launching pad deck.

  • What carrier is this USS Kennedy?

  • @averagealex99 read the desription.

  • That was simply breathtakingly beautiful! If I knew it wasn't gonna capsize or toss me overboard that would have to be one dang kick ass ride in one of those floating rescue air ups!!! Dang that was great looking!!!

  • Never got 90 foot waves, but got 70-80 foot waves, in a 50 footer yacht, South Atlantic, 45 knots steady and striking almost 60 at some points. Well, let me say that it looked totally different from my humble point of view, but of course, there was not much to see except water (most of the time), the deck (way less time) and the other 9 fellow members of the crew (barely invisible).

    Cheers!

  • wouldn't that f18 get a lot of sea spray? and potentially rust?

  • 90 feet don't look like much on this thing. Now if you were on a 40 foot boat, this would be a big problem.

  • 波でかすぎだろw

  • Dealiest catch... a 40 foot wave in season 1 put the boat on its side.. oh yea.. i totally belive 90 foot

  • @RapTheNationalAnthem that boat was probably going across the wave. This ship is also much much bigger

  • @RapTheNationalAnthem You do know that the longest ship on deadliest catch is like 200 feet long correct? This bad girl is 1069 feet long. A 90 foot wave is less than %10 of her length. So you better believe it because it is totally true.

  • all hands on deck!

  • Can someone go out there and replace the wipers.......NOW THAT"S AN ORDER!

  • Eh. it's just a little spray ;)

  • R.I.P jason lewis

  • Theoretically, when in combat, isn't a carrier more vulnerable to attack in a weather like this ? It can't launch any planes I guess.

  • helicopter hung on for life lol

  • I think the helicopter got a bath

  • i love how the plane is like just chillin there

  • The largest wave ever surfed was estimated to be 77 feet high at Cortes Bank off the coast of California in Jan of 2009.Given the long history of the earth and the frequency of seismic events it is probable that there have been even bigger waves and that there will be in the future."

  • The Norwegian Dawn cruise ship was hit with a 70 foot wave in 2005, In 1933 the USS Ramapo reliably measured a 112 foot wave. In February 2000 Scientific instruments on the British research vessel Rockall recorded individual waves up to 95.47 feet (29.1 meters) with average waves 60.7 feet (18.5 meters).Computer models can produce theoretical waves to 219 feet (67 meters).

  • "The biggest wave ever recorded was in Lituya Bay on the southern coast of Alaska on July 9, 1958. It was caused by 40 million cubic yards of ice and dirt shaking loose during an earthquake. It was 1740 feet high and described as a splash wave. The European Space Agency detected more than ten rogue waves measuring higher than 82 feet (25 meters) in a three week period in 2001.

  • Nice to see that expensive F-18 getting a saltwater bath.

  • i just watched the same video from somebody else

  • Thats a lot of wd40

  • And they called me stupid for installing windshield wipers on a video camera.

  • v 20 Foot wave.... do you know how tall the front of an aircraft carrier is?

  • Well that's one way to get our choppers cleaned!

  • that's more like a 20 foot wave

  • "Sailor, get that windscreen wiper on full speed!"

"I can't Captain, we just don't have the power!"

  • Poor F-18 sitting there hoping he does not get flipped off the deck xD Nice vid man plainly awesome good for 30 meter waves damn

  • the navy uses hand signals. no sound. Clever.

  • who in their right mind would leave the heli there

  • Damn. Those planes are really getting soaked by salt water. That's some top notch engineering right there.

  • Somebody forgot his jet on the ship!!! :))

  • This is what happens when Chuck Norris farts.

  • @benkerr69 dumb nigger

  • @soar1111 um thanks but im white

  • @benkerr69 smelly nigger wash that white mould off your skin ya dirty bastard

  • @benkerr69 dumb nigger

  • @soar1111 thats the best you can come back with? name calling let me guess your in your early teens and you have nothing better to do than go on the internet and through racial insults at people well in that case peace out im done wit u

  • @benkerr69 yeah fuck off you foool

  • @benkerr69 -You still think that's a racial slur? Wow, you are a nigger.

  • nope thats hydra from GTA

  • thats an aircraft carrier...

    anyone else notice the jet...

  • @trinigeets1 wow, its an aircraft carrier indeed. Good obsevation. I dought anyone noticed or read the discription either. 10 point and 5 stars for you.

  • maybe someone ordered a jet on eBay? : P

  • @trinigeets1 No i didnt notice the clearly obvious jet taking up 25% of the screen... nor did I notice the military like shape of the ship.

  • Well atleast the Planes dont need to be washed.

  • @FSXDelux

Never heard of washing metal objects with salt water.

  • Comment removed

  • Sure hope that F/A-18 Hornet is Strapped to the Deck...

  • imagine taking off in that

  • As a certified Airframe and powerplant mechanic. salt water is the worst thing for any part of an aircraft. salt way has such a corrosive property it is amazing. they should have put them below deck or to the rear of the carrier,

  • someone found a new way to clean the deck off

  • Comment removed

  • 90ft my ass

  • i was on the USS saipan, those waves would have me throwing up lunch from 3rd grade

  • I'd surf those waves

  • punching ,, thats why they put beer in cans.

  • Mike's right about the bow up and down thingy.... even if the bow was 90 feet high, it still wouldn't make the waves 90 feet because they come over the bow.... still an inoressive shot though... :-) wouldn't wanna be there with my 40 foot long 4 foot high bow.... lol

  • @panacruise yeah but ur boat small compared to ship so it wuld probly go rite over da waves unless a big whitecap came and washed over ur boat

  • imagine if there was a wave big enough to was all those jets off the ship. billions of dollars into the sea

  • hey, at least the planes got a free wash!

  • i was on the kitty hawk when this happen and it hit us soooo hard the alarm came on and i was in my rack scare like a mother*ucker

  • would take a lot of hours playing flight sim to land on that carrier

  • lol @ the wiper

  • if it was the perfect storm, it would be the storm of 1991

  • GET TO DA CHOPPAH!!!

  • 90 FOOT SEAS ??? You sure never sailed high seas my friend... Sorry, no offense !

  • OH ITS THE SHITTY KITTY! haha my dad was supposed to be on that ship but then the numbers changed and he was reasigned to the constilation cv64

  • they probably sent the rookies to go and get the helicopter haha

  • I'd get on the that fighter jet and Tom Cruise it the fuck off that boat!!

  • what ship is this?

  • @MrMehface Read the description..........

  • If its an American ship the waves are always bigger

  • a 90 foot wave is very rare, I dont see any here. Nice vid though, like it.

  • The Captain is smoking crack.

  • If I was captain of that ship I'd make all the chick's on board go out on deck with no bra's and white t-shirts as a "training drill/contest" for wave survival lessons.

  • i would put WD-40 on that aircraft

  • where is this?

  • how doesnt the plane fall off? :O

  • @wyattqt cause its like 5 tons

  • @wyattqt its chained down like a mofukka, somtin like 12-16 chanins honling it to the deck. it still trips me out that they let them dam things stay up there in that weather though. that chopper must have ad all its electronics fucked up

  • @wyattqt its chained to th deck mate ;)

  • Where is Leo and Kate doing their "I'm king of the world" on the bow? Wimps.

  • Now thats a big splash.

  • Like they say, with respect to the ocean, ALL craft are "small craft."

  • this carrier have V-tec in it? haha, atleast a supercharger?

  • Hello! I want some windshield wipers! okay ... what kind of car do you have? no no no .. they are for CS (Combat Ship ).!!! :) Have? :))

  • This is why I don't talk shit about the Navy. Also the reason why I didn't join the Navy.

  • Sea water causes corrosion on aircraft and helicopters... OH SHIT!!!

  • you just know that the upholstery in that helicopter got ruined......

  • The relative gravity on that ship must be uncomfortable lol

  • i just look at the jet

  • Go around the horn for some really big waves. USS Nimitz World Cruise 1987.

  • 2012

  • You forgot to put away your jet.

  • Lulz Lifejackets everyone!

  • i would sur those waves get off the couch army men

  • While 90 foot sounds a little bit much, I have been in the north Atlantic in the fall plenty enough times and 20 to 25 foot seas never seemed to move a carrier like that, I once did see one of them moving a little in 40 foot seas, as we were getting our asses tossed around an old DDG like rag dolls. (and by old I am talking pre fuel-use stabilization systems, fins etc.)

  • Cool, but somewhat whimpy, this said from a retired salior that rode these seas on tin cans (small ships) destroyers and cruisers much smaller than an AC. Nothing like watching the NUBs tossin their cookies when you are taking 40 degree rolls and walking on bulkheads. I am so homesick for the sea lol....

  • american engineering

  • holy crap

  • Parked jet: "Just waiting for the next kid to get a 5-kill streak."

  • anyone else as puzzled as i was by that windshield wiper?

  • lucky that jet didnt fall or they will be in deeeep shit

  • Sorry I mean 1991, I should know I lived it.

  • The perfect storm was in 1990 in the north atlantic. This looks more recent.

  • this is the captain speeking!: pls fasten your seatbelts,, all 5000 of you!!:DD

  • my son was playing whit same ship in bathtub.

  • I would chill in the Choppa at the end of the runway!!!

  • @hotcheetos55

    and roast fat bowls

  • @hotcheetos55 Just like taking it through the car wash!

  • @hotcheetos55 I would ... seriously .. smokin a lil weed :D

  • @hotcheetos55 id smoke a blunt in there... chill as fuckk

  • @hotcheetos55 get me fuckin blazed and ill join ya
