This is interesting. I'm a girl who has always been very aggressive towards mathematics. I raise my hand when I don't understand, I give my input when I do... but somehow, I never do well when I'm tested on this knowledge. I was even given special classes in elementary school because I could never get past an F on a test... I don't know, I feel like I really do like math and the opportunities to learn that it gives me, but I'm so incapable that I might even agree that its biological.
@missyah101 They are "given the chance" they just do not take advantage of their opportunities and "chances" because, generally speaking, females are not as interested in math as males. It is not that they lack the ability to do it but that people tend to be good at what interests them because that is where they place their time, energy and will. If women ever want to succeed as much as men they have to stop being interested in stupid shit.
I had a guy in my class in gradeschool who was a whiz. Watching him was fun for the teacher, I think. He just dominated the subject. I'm sure it was more fascinating for the teacher to watch him than it was to notice a quiet little girl who couldn't get past her 3's in the multiplication tables.

A lot of the girls in my class get better marks at calculus and applied maths than boys. In my class, boys still can't sit still and pay attention.
