GWEN TOWER= high voltage . Seems like these things grow out of the ground overnight here in NJ. They keep adding more and more transmitters to the point where they start to look like something that TESLA created, "HINT". @sydneyhope You want coverage you have two options: Higher power from the handset (next to your skull), or more towers to send and receive a users signals at a lower power. At any rate, most traffic is now text and other forms of data, not voice.

Yes they were welding at the bottom while it was receiving,and in returning signal, the main trannys at the top of the tower took in the amps from the welders,thus creating several arcs..which caused the fire..both ends melted

I responded to a fire like this several years ago. Workmen were welding at the top, and a bird nest in the tower caught fire and fell inside , setting the insulated cable on fire. We were able to extinguish the fire befor the tower collapsed, though.

there are massive amounts of plastic jacketed cables inside of those monopoles...once a fire has been started it would get really hot really fast...and yes weaken the structure

Licensed GHz frequencies, while more energetic, have litle interference. Only a few watts are needed for broadcasting in all directions, so only a tiny fraction of that reaches you in a given time. Now, you're saying MW as in megawatt? Such amount of power might burn everything to the ground, including buildings and cars, but I think that's not the case.
