  • Nice review. Very enjoyable. Bought the tent with this vid finalizing my decision lol. Quick question, is the 15L sack just the right size or would a 12 or 10L be able to fit it? Also, when u pack it in your pack do you stuff the tent in the pack or strap it to the outside? I'm thinking of going with the strapping down. Thanks for any feedback

  • @afplyr05 I would think you could go 12L with no problem, 10L may be pushing it. I compress it and carry it inside my pack. Stuffs and compresses to roughly the size of a bowling ball, not sure how you'd strap that to the outside.

  • @iamjonhall Thanx for the response. Ok so you pack it in your pack, im assuming an internal frame? if so do you still put it in your pack if its wet?

  • @afplyr05 Yeah. Just set it up when i get back home to dry out.

  • Assuming you've had a chance to get out there since you made the video, how's the durability?

  • @icychap Have had the tent for over a year now and have used it close to 10 times. Still good as new. No issues whatsoever.

  • @iamjonhall Great to hear, thanks for the quick response.

  • My Drifter 3 was used at Linville Gorge, NC this summer and it was GREAT. Too easy to set up, strong tent, and very ventilated tent. It did rain a little bit, especially when setting up the tent, but it was perfectly dry inside.

Setting up the tent is a piece of cake, even in the dark.

My friend had a 4-season tent and I could not believe how hot his tent was while my Drifter 3 was cooler for this summer trip.

I am very happy with this tent!

  • @Keithphotorama I used the Drifter-3 footprint and it helps keep the tent dry, but it is a little bit larger than the tent. Needed to tuck the foot-print under the tent to prevent funneling water between tent and foot-print.

  • Nice job, thanks for doing this...

  • The tent itself is free standing. The vestibules would have to staked in. Not sure what you mean by rain tarp.

  • Is it free standing ? Rain tarp?

  • Good Job! Thanks for the review, it helped!

  • did you tested it in heavy rain&wind?? did it perform well?

  • @silviu00 I bought one of these recently and it performed beautifully. Even the grass under the vestibules stayed dry. As long as you have a ground tarp down, you will be just fine.

  • thank you for your vid helpful!

  • Thanks for the upload, since this is a relatively new release I couldn't find any reviews other than this one!

Question: I didn't see any vents (air hole-ish things) on the fly in the vid, are there any?

  • @TsubasaK111 Sorry it had taken me a few days to get back to you. No, there are no vents on the fly. It seems to stay pretty well ventilated even without. I was able to take it backpacking a few weeks ago and was very pleased. With a compression sack, it gets really small (smaller than my 0 degree down bag compressed).

  • @iamjonhall Which compression sack did you get to stuff the tent in?

  • @bryandocter I use a 15L Outdoor Research Compression Sack. 15L seems to be a good size though you could probably go a bit smaller.
