@roncstelep I laugh at your ignorance. I can enjoy it for one. Music doesn't have to sound "pleasant" or "nice" to be appealing - often it can be more about conveying an idea or an experience to the listener instead.
And even if you don't like it you should still show a respect anyway!
I'm sorry to say but I can't belive we both mean the same under the word of "joy". I'd watch one's face while he "enjoys" music. The more one enjoys something the more his face distorting. It's so simple. I'm only curious how can somebody slip into a kind of another world by listening this music, absolutely lacks of any transcendency... I've just said my own strong opinion like everybody else and whatever contradictory will come, I won't show respect. Why don't the others show respect?
@roncstelep I personally enjoy it - but that's just my opinion. I'm not saying you have to enjoy it to appreciate it - music spells out different emotions to different listeners, no?
To some it may just seem like unorganised "souless" sound, and if that's the case - then listen to it that way! I'm not complaining! It will still bring with it an experience of sorts which will be interesting in some way. Interpret the piece how you want to, but show a respect for it, at least!
@roncstelep The problem is only that you're talking about one of the masterpieces of XXth century. For me this track it's soulful, warm and sad... Zappa was an absolute genius... cheers mate, but maybe you're not...
My old high school had the Exxon-Valdez documentary on LaserDisc. Shortway through it me and a classmate couldn't stop laughing and we said, "who the fuck did this soundtrack? Frank Zappa???" Then we say in the credits, yes, yes it was him. Technical queues in the song line up with events in on the tape that make it funny, like slipping noises when the penguins slip in oil. How could you not laugh?! But good soundtrack.
GREAT, thx a lot!

Wow, I didn't know FZ could paint! This is a kick-ass Synclavier piece too. He should have scored more documentaries or even feature films.

Is that a Crumb drawing at 4:06??? Where does it come from?
NitramZiarreh 2 years ago
Yes, that is Crumb's work, though I'm not sure where it came from (probably a magazine).

Yeah, I meant which one. That's FZ around 1992...
