You family is growing! Now your home is going to travel through the Frog community as the safe haven to set up shop. This is so wonderful. Now you would never have to worry about bugs in your garden :)
@keonakidd That would be good... Looking at putting in a proper frog pond for next year... Will be able to grow some water chestnuts in there as well I hope...
@TheProductiveGarden The bed will dry out in a few days unfortunately (if this rain stops) so I hope they don't... Looking at setting up a Cane toad proof pond next Summer where we can grow the chestnuts in tubs submerged in it... The frogs can have the rest of the pond with a few small fish...
@CooleyBufo Would be good idea to farm them but Frogs are protected species here... I have seen a few clips on YT of Australian tree frogs that have migrated to U.S.A... Looks like a big thing over there... People can keep them here but need a Licence from the Gov...
@SleestaksRule We have noticed more frogs & native geckos around in the past few 5 years.. We are hopping that their increasing numbers will help out in the patch with the pests...
@bnbob01 As a kidling in Wisconsin around 1980 the roads were packed with salamanders at night for 2 days. They loved the warm pavement at night. That was it though. I haven't seen one since (1 or 2 under logs in the 90's). Prior that time I could lift a board in my yard and find 2. I do still have tree frogs and that's a good sign.
Nice following ur videos.. being that there are alot of snakes in australia... do u come across any on ur property... I think id be shit scared walking casually around there... could be snake under one of those setups u got out back
@ryalnz We have seen a few Brown snakes which could be seen as a tad nasty being that they are the second most venomous snake... I find that if we don't bite them they tend to leave us alone... *nods**
Also seen some small harmless Crown & Green tree snakes.. We used to keep Spotted Pythons but they were passed on to new homes...
Where did the original frogs come from? Do you have a creek nearby? You have a wonderful place. My parents have loads in their pool that went a la natural (green swamp) 10 years ago. They can be really noisy in a nice way. My parents don't have a mosquito problem which is interesting ha?
@Silkymits2000 We live less than a block from the Bremer River here in Ipswich.. The bank still has a fair bit of brush on the banks & there are parks around too so there is heaps of good habitats for them around here... I would love to but a place with a pool & let it go back to nature... If you put " watch?v=KMkmgolAj6o " in the YT search bar you will find a great set up...

You will probably get tadpoles in with your water chestnuts now but I dont think that would be a bad thing

Have you calculated how long it will be before all you have are grow beds full of tadpoles? Maybe you should look into the economics of frog farming.

All you need now is a few cane toads to nurse to maturity.
Best Wishes, Brendan.

You should check maybe you could get funding for a frog sanctuary. I predict the water chestnut bed will be full of little ones next LOL.
