@dersinghampault cinema in argentina is very challenged by argentines themselves because of its deeply rooted theater influence. for the true cinephile, it can be an inexhaustible source of unknown gems. I recommend you to review the work of directors like Adolfo Aristarain (to begin with), and then go with Carlos Sorín and Fabián Bielinsky. that's the usual way to start touring argentine cinema. greetings : )

I just saw this on cable (it was about 15 mins in where they notice Gomez in the photo album) and I have to say it is definitely one of if not my absolute favorite movie. The ending was amazing. Not only was it a great suspense/mystery, but the love stories were fantastic and very emotionally involved. Not the usual surface love story you get from Hollywood these days were the movie is agonizingly predictable. This. THIS is how movies should be made!

@gvt2u Well it's not an action movie. There are some moments that make your heart stop. But you must be really inside the movie, and it depends on how you're at the moment. I was like you at the beginning, but when it got to the raping scene and the corrupt policeman scene i started to pay more attention, and then there were more action scenes. Anyway, watch pulp fiction or the truman show (although i'm sure you've already watched them)

I saw this movie in January in Buenos Aires - right before the announcement that it was an Oscar contender. Since the film was being played in the country of origin, there were no subtitles. However, my husband and I were perfectly able to follow the story. When great films like this one get made, words become insignificant. The superlative acting, the story line itself and the director's incredible work were enough for us to understand the magnificence of this cinematic gem.

Тo take an Oscar is not any measure of quality assessment a Film,there are too many films who not won any oscar award,not even nominated,but this film deserve any award he can get!..The characters are brilliant and so real,the whole story is superb along with the camera work and directors work as well.There is the soundtrack wich gives the film desired swееt thread.The film is a fuckin masterpiece.Those kinds of films are one of the my kinds of films..The film has a soul!
