That is so precious! If only little things like this amused us! Think how happy we'd be! My yellow female Mally used to sit at the top of a boing that I had in the ceiling for my Amazon and pull the string material at the top around the back of her the same way. HOWEVER, one time her neck got caught up in it and luckily I cut her out of it in time (with a few cuts of my own)! Needless to say I cut those strings the whole way off!

@crazy4amazons I don't let Bean play with crinkle paper very often. He damages his feathers when he chews it. He'll do the same thing with pellets. Chews them over his shoulder and likes the crumbs falling down feeling. Makes him look like he is in a constant molt. Silly boy.

That was beautiful guys. What a collaboration. I've just cleaned out my prop store at home and discoveredd nearly every costume has been chewed through. Last box I opened contained a colourful nest and and irate fieldmouse. Ruined a lot of my stock but did it 'tastefully'. Great quality to sound and video. Wish I could do that!

Hee, hee... So Bean had to go crinkling again for the sake of videomaking, hey? It's OK since he enjoys it so much! I sometimes have complaints about my "deletions" (I've deleted dozens of my YT productions since the beginning): I don't like clutter!

@CVersailles He loves that stuff but he also chews his feathers with the paper so he only gets it every once in a while. He was in heaven for the film shoot! I know what you mean about clutter. I'm a pack rat. I'll probably leave the rest of them up unless I do any more retakes for QC. Now that I have a movie camera on my phone I can post those directly. The quality is not great but fast and easy no editing. Best advice I've gotten is keep 'em short. Thanks for commenting! :)

Bean is adorable. I love his name. I am curious - I noticed at the end of the video he flew off - I've been debating whether or not to let my parrotlet's wings grow out. I'm worried she's going to slam into things and hurt herself, but at the same time I like the thought of her flying because, well, she's a bird. Thoughts? Love your videos of bean. I watched them all tonight!

@nathannoland2 Thanks Nathan. Bean is 8 years old and has only been flying for the last 2 years. We have large glass sliding doors that he has learned to navigate away from. They have stickers on them and some dangling things to remind him not to go there. His personality changed after he started flying. It's almost as if he has a higher self-esteem. It's a real treat to watch him fly wherever he wants to go. He is very fast. Thanks for watching all of Bean's videos in one night!

@nathannoland2 Hi again. I have to mention the cons of flight. There is always a fear that someone would leave a door open or forget that Bean is out and he would fly away. If you have kids or a lot of house traffic I would vote against it. That and crashing into things are big cons. Our best birdie friend Pizza Pete died in a freak accident crashing into his cage door. It's a big decision to consider. Bean loves to fly and I think his life is full of freedom but there are dangers.

I'm sometimes better on Twitter, but not as fast on here. :-) I love how independent and fearless Chickpea is and think she'd be even happier being able to carry herself around my apartment, which is almost as teeny as she is. I am worried about the risks and part of me wants to keep her clipped, but the other part of me wants to see her enjoy what it's like to be a bird.

@pufmama: OMG, that is the sweetest thing, he used to sleep under your arm. I always thought that the bad thing about having a bird for a pet is that you can't sleep with them. Sounds like they can sleep with you. :o)

The danger of having a bird in bed is that you can accidentally smother them. I sometimes nap with Bean right under my chin though.

Yes, it's subtle, but that is why I said "they can sleep with you" cause in reality, you can't fall asleep with a birdie sleeping on you. But it's adorable to think of Bean napping under your chin.

I have 2 lovebirds aka minature parrots. It's usually the female who cuts the paper and stores the strips under her wings,to carry back to her nesting box for nesting purposes. My male now copies my female and cuts strips from newspaper, as well.
