If you;d've seen the full table, you'd've seen that it'd happened a few times that Fishman folded the better hand to Hellmuth's weak pair or two pair or even high card. This time it just happened that Fishman had the nut straight. He wanted Hellmuth to think he had a good two pair (of which there were a few on the board) and for some reason Hellmuth called with quite a weak one. Hellmuth would say anyone else who called that played it badly.

So for the off suit 10 to hit after ruling out that Fisch didn't have a made hand prior to the turn, it's ABSURDLY IMPOSSIBLE for Hellmuth to anticipate a KQ hitting broadway, because Fisch wouldn't have been close to being priced in. So there was only ONE SINGLE SPECIFIC HAND Hellmuth had to worry about, and that's the KQ of clubs. THIS is why Phil anticipating that he was beat on the river would've been incredibly challenging. He was facing the most unlikely completion of a draw.

Again considering how Hellmuth played the hand on the flop and turn it would've been HIGHLY unlikely Fisch had a made hand dominating his two pair considering how draw heavy the board was, Fisch would most definitely wanted to protect a made hand with a reraise prior to the river. For people to think it would've been obvious to Phil he was dominated on the river is just absurd considering that the flush draw didn't hit even thought it was clear that a flush was what Fisch was chasing.

By min raising post flop and betting the pot on the turn, Hellmuth is intentionally demonstrating the strength of his hand. Fischman therefore smooths the turn which is such a strong indication for a draw, considering the draw heavy board and Fischman's reluctance to raise Phil back on the turn. The off suit 10 is absolutely the most unluckiest card for Hellmuth. Anticipating his opponent to hit a 1 card straight on the river is REDICULOUSLY hard considering he already ruled out any made hand

I'll even say why it was such a hard spot for Hellmuth. After Fischman bets out the ace high flop and hellmuth min raises, Fischman smooths. Again on the turn without a completion of the flush, Hellmuth bets nearly the pot, which shows he suspected already Fischman would be holding a flush draw. If Fischman had any major made hand (i.e. a set), at this point he would almost ALWAYS raise, playing against what he knows Hellmuth has a strong hand. Hellmuth clearly demonstrates strength.

As for Hellmuth, the man grinds and profits regularly at the middle stakes, playing the 10/20 and 25/50 blinded tables at live casinos all the time. Such is the case when he visits us at Commerce. But its when he enters the higher stakes for HSP cammios and what not, where he has to call upon backers and ends up way over his head.

But he clearly doesn't suck.

@UndercoverLdn playing 200 NL at the lowest stakes, especially 1 tabling, you can make a decent income but not very much. Vegas has much better action than alot of other cities like AC. I know this about Hellmuth because I grind at Commerce and know a number of dealers who work the higher stakes tables. You can look up all my stats online if you really want me to prove my professional status since only about 1% of players online actually make enough money to support themselves entirely.

And people don't give him enough credit for being the great player he is. I mean even though it's not cash games, the guy JUST locked down the 2011 WSOP Player of the Year. You can't suck at any type of poker and reach that kind of achievement.
