I really don't like Hellmuth at all - I'm sure he has his good moments but he's the sorest of losers and barely ever credits his opponents when they beat him, instead slanders them for being amateurs and playing a bad game. I love how Bill Perkins winds him up though looool

Yes, the Hollywooding was poor, but just consider what you'd do: you have the ABSOLUTE NUTS and a chance to take Phil Hellmuth for all his chips on National TV. I'm sure you'd find it difficult not to jump out of your chair, let alone keep calm and start acting. Credit to the guy for actually keeping his cool.
Also, I know the exact feeling in a game where you're 90% sure you're beat. but you just have to see it for some reason. That's the narcissistic world of poker I guess :)
that guy fish man is such a shit poker player. all that talking was absolutely ridiculos... how could you tell someone "oh you cant do this to me anymore phil" and then goes all in? ROFL. Such a shit actor, crap poker player, im surprisied he was good enough to realise he had the nuts
@snaggle1337 That's decent play actually. If you;d've seen the full table, you'd've seen that it'd happened a few times that Fishman folded the better hand to Hellmuth's weak pair or two pair or even high card. This time it just happened that Fishman had the nut straight. He wanted Hellmuth to think he had a good two pair (of which there were a few on the board) and for some reason Hellmuth called with quite a weak one. Hellmuth would say anyone else who called that played it badly.
@snaggle1337 So, because his hollywooding sucked, that makes him shit at poker? Wheres the logic in that? Any guy that says ROFL should not be aloud to express an opinion.
@IOYB Very true buddy, but sadly these days an intellectual conversation/discussion is hard to have, especially on youtube were all the "pro's" come to criticize lesser beeing's by calling them noobs and busting out the occasional ROFL or LMAO/LOL.... Fishman is moron, why give that horrible speach before reraising all in. It screams the nuts and just bad manners. Bad call by Helmuth. But the black dude, "the business man" what an idiot. I just don¨t understand why these kind of people are in pokershows. They are absolutely not fun to watch because they can´t play the game at all.
"unreal" is that i never see u play well in cash game on TV....except vs retards or in cooler hands....every session u made some weak play or having tilting moments, this is "fkin unreal" :D
that black idiot is the bigggggest fish in the whole televisioned poker history, if i had the money i would pay personally the buy in for Dwan or Ivey to go and rip him to pieces... WHAT AN IDIOT......!
So for the off suit 10 to hit after ruling out that Fisch didn't have a made hand prior to the turn, it's ABSURDLY IMPOSSIBLE for Hellmuth to anticipate a KQ hitting broadway, because Fisch wouldn't have been close to being priced in. So there was only ONE SINGLE SPECIFIC HAND Hellmuth had to worry about, and that's the KQ of clubs. THIS is why Phil anticipating that he was beat on the river would've been incredibly challenging. He was facing the most unlikely completion of a draw.
Again considering how Hellmuth played the hand on the flop and turn it would've been HIGHLY unlikely Fisch had a made hand dominating his two pair considering how draw heavy the board was, Fisch would most definitely wanted to protect a made hand with a reraise prior to the river. For people to think it would've been obvious to Phil he was dominated on the river is just absurd considering that the flush draw didn't hit even thought it was clear that a flush was what Fisch was chasing.
By min raising post flop and betting the pot on the turn, Hellmuth is intentionally demonstrating the strength of his hand. Fischman therefore smooths the turn which is such a strong indication for a draw, considering the draw heavy board and Fischman's reluctance to raise Phil back on the turn. The off suit 10 is absolutely the most unluckiest card for Hellmuth. Anticipating his opponent to hit a 1 card straight on the river is REDICULOUSLY hard considering he already ruled out any made hand
I'll even say why it was such a hard spot for Hellmuth. After Fischman bets out the ace high flop and hellmuth min raises, Fischman smooths. Again on the turn without a completion of the flush, Hellmuth bets nearly the pot, which shows he suspected already Fischman would be holding a flush draw. If Fischman had any major made hand (i.e. a set), at this point he would almost ALWAYS raise, playing against what he knows Hellmuth has a strong hand. Hellmuth clearly demonstrates strength.
@UndercoverLdn He sucks when he's playing the best in the world. But he's still aeons better than any of you idiots who spend your time commenting on youtube videos.
@UndercoverLdn For youtube users who don't make a dime playing poker, saying that Phil Helmuth sucks is just plain egotistical. He's not as good as alot of the top cash game pros. But he's pretty far from "sucking". I'm pretty sure he would destroy any of us in a live cash game.
How are you so sure I don't make a dime with poker? Don't overestimate "pro's" just because they're "pro".. I'm pretty sure solid 1kNL winning regs can beat hellmuth in cashgames..
@UndercoverLdn Oh i'm entirely sure you don't make a living playing poker. And you know you don't either.
As for Hellmuth, the man grinds and profits regularly at the middle stakes, playing the 10/20 and 25/50 blinded tables at live casinos all the time. Such is the case when he visits us at Commerce. But its when he enters the higher stakes for HSP cammios and what not, where he has to call upon backers and ends up way over his head.
No I don't play poker professionaly, but I do visit Vegas a few times a year and play 200NL and hardly even came back without a profit. I'm pretty sure I could make a living playing 500NL but I just don't want to live such a lifestyle. + How do you know Hellmuth plays 10/20 and 25/50 in casinos?
@UndercoverLdn playing 200 NL at the lowest stakes, especially 1 tabling, you can make a decent income but not very much. Vegas has much better action than alot of other cities like AC. I know this about Hellmuth because I grind at Commerce and know a number of dealers who work the higher stakes tables. You can look up all my stats online if you really want me to prove my professional status since only about 1% of players online actually make enough money to support themselves entirely.
@UndercoverLdn People also rag on Hellmuth so much but they have to realize he INTENTIONALLY behaves that way because of all the media attention and hence, endorsements he receives. He's actually a REALLY nice guy in person. (I know, hard to believe)
And people don't give him enough credit for being the great player he is. I mean even though it's not cash games, the guy JUST locked down the 2011 WSOP Player of the Year. You can't suck at any type of poker and reach that kind of achievement.
I remember watching an earlier episode of this and he said has a life coach to help him have a better outlook or stay calm or something. He should demand a refund. He ignored his own perfect read and calls because he is pissed off.
It's funny Perkins is telling Helmuth he's made boatloads of money. He's a former trader at Enron, a VC with a controlling interest in some new billion dollar power plant and a partner at Centaurus energy. If Helmuth's money is in the boatloads, Perkins is the entire boating store...Pretty much a baller...

Fishman made some life changing money!! Good on him!
Worst actor of all time, how can Phil call that, jesus.. Every sign is there, that Fishman got a big hand. No Phil u dont get cheated, u r just not a good player anymore, a good player knows when to fold. That was such an easy fold.
@EYELISTEN yes such an easy fold when you are looking at the hands. Thats why your such a great player, thats why you have 11 bracelets because you would have folded there, I think Phil should do what you are doing because 11 bracelets all for hold em obviously isnt good enough
@alexnzxVersion2 .. Im so tired of these stupid comments.. as soon as u make a comment u hear.. u can see the cards.. c'mon.. READ WHAT I WROTE.. FISHMANS ACTING, he complain and then allin, im done im done he says.. Easy fold.. If you play poker then u know that.. Doesnt matter if i see the cards, i would have fold it if i was Phil.. Phil had 2 pair.. hard to fold that, but a good player who see the signs can fold it..
@EYELISTEN lmao if u fold 2 pair on a six max, thinking guy was hoping for the 10, u my sir are a fish, i'll play u anytime lmao if a club came up it would be totally different
@EYELISTEN cmon man out of 2 players the one have a straight.....and after betting the flop.....the only reason he should fold was the slowroll....from my opinion not an easy call......but maybe you are right....phil has lost it a little bit
@gigidr How was it likely, your man kept on calling with a flush draw and hit a miracle 10 on the river, how in the name of god is phil going to put the guy on K Q. He put him on a flush draw, to have KQ clubs is just very unlucky for phil
@alexnzxVersion2 First of all, Fishman was a quite a tight disciplined player. So it was unlikely to me for him to call two bets just with a small flush-draw. Secondly, the acting on the river when Fishman got all-in should have made Phill instantly fold. Incredibly poor acting! Even Phill put him on KQ. Might have been an unlucky river card, but calling was just a bad decision.
@gigidr I agree with everything except the acting. I mean if you think the acting was so poor that hellmuth should have folded, then maybe hellmuth is thinking, "this guy is acting so bad, that he may actually be bluffing and trying to cover it up". I dont think the acting can change anything.
Hellmuth is so good, your man made a terrible call on the turn and got a miracle 10, if a club came up hellmuth would have checked and folded to a raise
@gigidr cause its a loose canon show and the loose canon need to pass a certain amount of profit in order to win the season so it may have affected the his thinking process
+ there were like 20 hands left till the end of the session
@TheBarbahaba He still had 97k if he folded, and could have made a profit till the end. I don't think he ever intended to win the season before this hand. And since it was very likely for Phil to bet with something pretty good, Fishman wouldn't have bluffed, in my opinion. Maybe Phil overestimated him.
@Sebascs7 This is the kind of smartass comment that I hate the most. So Phil is one of the best poker players in the world, and one of my favorites actualy. Does that mean I can't criticise him for making bad calls?
The best thing I love about this hand is his fishmans acting. And the best thing in this episode is when he folded pocket bullets and Laak mad quad sixes.

It was very likely Phill's two pair was beat. I can't understand why he called.
gigidr 1 year ago 13
@gigidr because he's a calling station

@gigidr How was it likely, your man kept on calling with a flush draw and hit a miracle 10 on the river, how in the name of god is phil going to put the guy on K Q. He put him on a flush draw, to have KQ clubs is just very unlucky for phil
alexnzxVersion2 10 months ago

Hellmuth is so good, your man made a terrible call on the turn and got a miracle 10, if a club came up hellmuth would have checked and folded to a raise
alexnzxVersion2 10 months ago
@gigidr cause its a loose canon show and the loose canon need to pass a certain amount of profit in order to win the season so it may have affected the his thinking process
+ there were like 20 hands left till the end of the session
thats why
TheBarbahaba 9 months ago
@TheBarbahaba He still had 97k if he folded, and could have made a profit till the end. I don't think he ever intended to win the season before this hand. And since it was very likely for Phil to bet with something pretty good, Fishman wouldn't have bluffed, in my opinion. Maybe Phil overestimated him.
gigidr 8 months ago
@gigidr dont forget if you have 97 k 20 hands to the end of the show you get pretty desperate
i'm not saying u'r not right but its not that easy of a lay down if you consider the loose format show
and just for the record if he would have folded
the amateur would have lost all his money on that pair of aces vs the quads of phil lack 10 hands later
but since he won he mucked the aces preflop
lol thats fate i guess

@gigidr This is the difference between you (Millionaire poker pro) and phil Hellmuth (amateur player). He wouldn't know..
Sebascs7 8 months ago
@Sebascs7 This is the kind of smartass comment that I hate the most. So Phil is one of the best poker players in the world, and one of my favorites actualy. Does that mean I can't criticise him for making bad calls?

The math teacher has not ever heard of pot odds... Check the call on the turn...

Perkins is annoying.
The best thing I love about this hand is his fishmans acting. And the best thing in this episode is when he folded pocket bullets and Laak mad quad sixes.

Perkins is annoying. Super awesome for the LC, though. Spend it wisely.
