It cost a lot of money, and I mean a lot, to put a man/woman in space. Along with, we would have to terraform Mars to our advantage, which means a huge motherfucking change of the Martian atmosphere. We may land men on Mars but I don't think we will "live" on it for about 2 centuries.
it takes 12 moths to get there so we would need a years worth of supplies and a life times worth for the colony lol cuz there is no food on mars and
this is somthing that would take many trips and lots of money and mars is also alot smaller than earth so every body would not be able to go and most probly would not want to any way
@bigbadtrav300 no. because it would take about 4 years to get there in a shuttle but nasa is retiring the shuttle and they are focusing on the moon to make a moon base then a retired astronaut thought of a plasma rocket witch would take about 29 days to get there and would make NASA gat to mars faster and study the rocks and look for life and water
Why do scientists say/claim/believe that it was water that created the features mentioned, on Mars? Have they considered it could have been a liquid have evaporated, or seeped into the surface deep underground? What other possible liquids could it have been besides water? Surely there's plenty of candidates for it....
Scientists claimed that water created this landscape becouse there is already ice on Mars. And as you probably know that most of northern territories on earth were shaped by glaciers.
"When the first human visitors step foot on the surface of Mars, they're immediately going to notice that the gravity on Mars is much lower than they're used to on Earth. In fact, the gravity on Mars is 38% the gravity on Earth. In other words, if you weigh 100 kg on Earth, you would only weigh 38 kg on Mars." - Universe Today
That's not true. Lots of videos about everything from extraterrestrial overlords to celestial ectoplasm are lurking around you tube. And there's always the pink sheets.
The only way to mars become the new Earth, isw create a atmosphere, with some plants who gonna create and eat CO2 but we probably need some... 10 000 year to create a viable atmosphere...
not only would terraforming take thousands of years. we also think mars used to have atmosphere, life, etc, but it was lost because the planet lost its magnetic field, and the solar wind blew it all away. if this is the case, no terraforming can work.. ever
no chance, Terraforming Mars will be a huge undertaking, if it is ever done at all. Initial stages of terraforming Mars could take several decades or centuries. Terraforming the entire planet into an Earth-like habitat would have to be done over several millennia. Some have even suggested that such a project would last thousands of millennia. So, how are we supposed to transform a dry, desert-like land into a lush environment, where people, plants and other animals can survive??
We can terraform mars. Its not that hard, but it would take a very long time to do so. But in my opinion, terraforming mars would be a very stupid idea. Mars doesn't have a magnetic field, and that is the reason why mars atmosphere pressure is 1% of earths. Solar winds have pushed mars's atmosphere out into space. And it would happen again if we terraform mars. Slowly, but it would happen. Meaning, we would have to terraform mars regularly through millions of years.
@tyby1984 we can't terraform our deserts by changing atmosphere , but we could do it on Mars (we just need to heat atmosphere and then martian ground will release CO2 and water)
You know though, there is no way any of us know. Being an Atheist I usually rule everything out that involves religion, but keep an open mind, what if this "God" was a Martian, what if the Meteorite theory was true.
I think there is bacterial life on Mars today. But really; should it take over 40 years to discover a single bacteria sitting on Mars? I was 16 when we first touched down on Mars. Im now getting ready for AARP....

Bah we can also try to go in Venus.
Problem, Smaller than Earth(little bit) and really to cold.
Without a Atmosphere its around 80 at sun light.
and -50 at night :s
But, If test say that Mars cant have Life again... it would be hard to find a another Earth...
The next one is around 2000 year ago from here with the current space ship...

If mars have Water in the past.
The water is still in the planet, Underground or Dry.
But the Hydrogen cant go away like that.
So if we can create Water from a source(the ice in the pole) we can probably begin a new Earth for poeple in 100 000 Year.
100 000 year is not soo far.
Jesus is dead 2000 year ago.
Each generation is around 30 year.
Less than 75 before they have see Jesus.
So if we begin now with Limon we can probably create something.

Theories say that a meteorite hit Mars, a fragment of the meteorite kept some bacteria and hit Earth, that bacteria is us.
Just a theory though.

how good is the evidence for such a theory?
