I absolutely love this song. When my grandmother passed away I prepared her funeral at our church St. Johns Lutheran Church in Santa Fe Texas and this was the closing song I felt that this was the best way to let her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren know that she was with them and that she will always be with them
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (October 10), we sang this as our our closing hymn. It is #543 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship. It was because of Gospel today was Luke 17:11-19, which is where Jesus healed the 10 lepers and only one, a despised Samaritan, came back to give thanks. This Gospel is also read at many Thanksgiving services, which is coming up.
