All of you MMO players out there just watch the servers( WoW Eq2 AoC etc ) when this game comes out . The first month. Didn't need advertisement? The damn game has been legendary vapourware for years since it's been in production for so long. Pretty much anyone who follows MMO's has known about DF for a long long time. Besides most MMO's do very little advertisement, WoW is an exception.
it looks a bit nice but not that much.. dont like the char movement, armors, and the most imoprtant thing is that the orc are made like shit in this game... better a more cartoon version than a bad-made realistic one..
no safe zones. thats going to be a real problem. i can see it right now i just joined the game i wake for 15 seconds trying to get used to it, and 30 guys on horses come out of nowhere and kill me in a fraction of a millisecond. i respawn, same thing.... and so on.

yeah this could be very good or very bad. It might offer enough incentive for people not to go around willy nilly wacking anything that moves. You actually get into the game. (Honestly i have never actually gotten immersed in an MMORPG before. this could do the trick.)
The flip side is everyone could go blood crazy their first month. This could result in a lack of factions, everyone would be outlaws, but--although AOC sucked balls--i think AOC shows us only a few people will do that.

duno if its true but only 1 char a server. if tahts true than wow if you aim for crafters. you should have a hard time looking for others to craft for you.

No safe zones = a bit hhhhmmm.....I'm iffy about that......doesn't seem like a good idea to me at all. I hope theres a PK penalty, like in lineage 2 where if the person doesn't fight back you can lose your stuff.

The North American Release date is still TBA, but people in North America are supposed to be able to download the digital version of the game and play on the European Servers, which is fine by me. I like the fresh look this game has and from what I've heard about it so far it seems a lot like a online version of Elder Scrolls Oblivion... only a lot bigger and possibly better. ^^
11 days till launch and there's still no word on any kind of public play testing even though one lasting a "few weeks" was promised, no word on when/where/how you will be able to buy it, no pricing, no system specs, no reviews or previews on any major gaming sites, no PR, no new website...
Wbat really gets me is all the wow and warhammer and kiddies of their sort are hailing this as the next generation pvp - at the same time they have absolutely no understanding of the underlying mechanics. It's like a 5 year comes out, says he gots something new and revoloutionary in his bag, and then trips over himself and plummets several hundred feet to his death. They're wayyyy outof their league. A bit like people thinking we can expand and not pollute.
On the one hand you don't actually know that. On the other hand none of the fanbois know if its going to be any good either so your both a bit off the wall. However considering the amount of "You can do ANYTHING" that people keep screaming about a lot of people are going to be VERY disappointed it says right on the dev's site that you can only distroy 1 building a day when attacking a city. Sounds like theres gonna be limitations.
If u dont know there is alredy 750 000 ppl that alredy signed up for this game. there have been over 300 000 beta testers over the 5past years and 9/10 loved it... Games like WoW are shit... i have played WoW for 2 years or so and it rly sux. All other games are farming games.. darkfall is unique.

incorrect. Most and Every other mmorpg has limitations. This is an fps, where you can build anything, steal anything, kill anything. You can climb mountains if you want to, there are no safe zones, no landscape barriers. You are completely free in this game
most of their promises, from the video's I've watched, I could generally see with my eyes. Going on which facts we know must be true, and the quotes from beta testers, it's definitely going to be well known, and above average

Well, I am not understanding your responses. I didn´t say (and if I did, it wasn´t on purpose) that the game was bad. It isn´t, and I like it myself. I was just saying that it is a shame that the game isn´t as knowed as gw or wow. But Aventurine do not have the money that the larger companys have to put on advertising. But that they will be able to advertise some more a few months or more after the game is released. But for now all cash goes to production and to pay their employes.
But Im sure that we will see some advertising a few months after release. And that might be best as well, that way they have managed to tweak and fix release bugs etc, so that they don't scare away ppl.=)

There's already a bunch of people waiting for it to come out so they can buy it. It says on the darkfall website that the testers reacted very well to it. If the players are anything like me, they won't be able to stop raving about how good a game is. I'm thinking word of mouth alone will sell the games.
Do you think they'd stress the importance of getting amazing armor if they knew you'd lose it when you died? Think about that. Knowing you could lose your gear should come with a reason to not be so heartbroken if it's looted.

All the videos are from Alpha, one is from Beta and the animations have improved a lot, they said they will bring out patches every month, they will soon improve the graphcs and animations, look at WoW, that has the largest playerbase of all games, and i can proberly run it on my gameboy, get over it.

No it wont work like that because this is a sandbox, yes there will be some big clans but just like eve theres will probably be lots of small and medium sized ones too.
hey can anyone tell me if the Races can...cooperate each other? (i mean for example : Elves meet up with dark elves and humans and make a group and fight togheter?) or its just..like a war between races?
You can group up with other races if you want. There's nothing that stops you from that. However, you may not be able to get the same quests etc. Since you as human ain't able to enter the Alfar towns and get quests there for example.
But you can group up and wander around and kill stuff if you want. :)
I hope this game is only a pay once thing, I cant afford any fees, but if it were a game you only pay once like $20 maybe $50 I would definitely get it

Go Alfar as were gonna do. Were pure elite guild from UO. 10 yeal old guild and most is +20. Alfar is in war with all else so if you want it hardcore then Alfar is the race to choose. And if you play on the Europe server we might have some alliance if the game demands it. Were not making alliances of now but it will most likely be needed if your wanna be a player and a clan with some respect.

This is gonna be the best online game probably for a very long time. But the only thing is cities you build will not last long :l you will probably be raided in a hour lol, but maybe not. It will be cool trying to conquer over thousands of players. It will be a big challenge. You will need a big group too if you want to do this. This will be the most challenging game ever and probably the most fun. Anyone who likes pvp will love this too.

However considering the amount of "You can do ANYTHING" that people keep screaming about a lot of people are going to be VERY disappointed it says right on the dev's site that you can only distroy 1 building a day when attacking a city. Sounds like theres gonna be limitations.

If u dont know there is alredy 750 000 ppl that alredy signed up for this game. there have been over 300 000 beta testers over the 5past years and 9/10 loved it... Games like WoW are shit... i have played WoW for 2 years or so and it rly sux. All other games are farming games.. darkfall is unique.

incorrect. Most and Every other mmorpg has limitations. This is an fps, where you can build anything, steal anything, kill anything. You can climb mountains if you want to, there are no safe zones, no landscape barriers. You are completely free in this game

It says it's in open beta so it probally is but buyable games in store dont have open beta.
So basicly it's gona be closed beta until 22nd january when the game comes out in stores :).

But Aventurine do not have the money that the larger companys have to put on advertising. But that they will be able to advertise some more a few months or more after the game is released. But for now all cash goes to production and to pay their employes.
But Im sure that we will see some advertising a few months after release. And that might be best as well, that way they have managed to tweak and fix release bugs etc, so that they don't scare away ppl.=)

There's already a bunch of people waiting for it to come out so they can buy it. It says on the darkfall website that the testers reacted very well to it. If the players are anything like me, they won't be able to stop raving about how good a game is. I'm thinking word of mouth alone will sell the games.

Do you think they'd stress the importance of getting amazing armor if they knew you'd lose it when you died? Think about that. Knowing you could lose your gear should come with a reason to not be so heartbroken if it's looted.

They have ways to hinder 3am raids. And I belive that you still can hire guards that will keep your village safe.
But you have to declare war before you can attack

All the videos are from Alpha, one is from Beta and the animations have improved a lot, they said they will bring out patches every month, they will soon improve the graphcs and animations, look at WoW, that has the largest playerbase of all games, and i can proberly run it on my gameboy, get over it.

Darkfall is gonna pwn the mmo genre until everyone is conforming to them instead of WoW (warhammer, AoC, etc.) They are kinda like MUD's gone wrong.. Too many whimpy rules. No talking to enemies? I wanna be able to say give me ur gold, and expect to get it or battle. And once they give it to you, you might wanna kill them anyways and take their shit! freedom

No it wont work like that because this is a sandbox, yes there will be some big clans but just like eve theres will probably be lots of small and medium sized ones too.

You can group up with other races if you want. There's nothing that stops you from that. However, you may not be able to get the same quests etc. Since you as human ain't able to enter the Alfar towns and get quests there for example.
But you can group up and wander around and kill stuff if you want. :)

As far as we know, you should be able to. Howerver, there might be some things that complecates it all up, but not sure what that might be.
NPC guards might be one problem, we just have to wait and see how it works out. :)

It's a monthly fee as well. All MMOs that are worth to play are. Monthly fees are in cause of constant support and content updates etc.

Go Alfar as were gonna do. Were pure elite guild from UO. 10 yeal old guild and most is +20. Alfar is in war with all else so if you want it hardcore then Alfar is the race to choose. And if you play on the Europe server we might have some alliance if the game demands it. Were not making alliances of now but it will most likely be needed if your wanna be a player and a clan with some respect.

Yes it will most likely own. There is alliances of +1000 members created already. So you will need to be bigger then yours to own anything ingame my friend.

This is gonna be the best online game probably for a very long time. But the only thing is cities you build will not last long :l you will probably be raided in a hour lol, but maybe not. It will be cool trying to conquer over thousands of players. It will be a big challenge. You will need a big group too if you want to do this. This will be the most challenging game ever and probably the most fun. Anyone who likes pvp will love this too.
