How to Train Your Dog : How to Teach a Dog to Stay

I am with you MsGoodHands, this video sucks. I want to see just one training video where they use a dog who is not trained already. This does not show how it works with untrained dogs, it only shows your dog learned the stay command. Every video I watch is boring and all they do is talk, talk, talk, If you are teaching the stay command you need to say stay otherwise he is just doing the down command.

I have noticed over and over that "expert village" has pretty bad/misinforming videos on dog training from many well intentioned, but not very knowledgeable or skilled trainers. There were so many things done in this tutorial that send owners the wrong message. If you want to learn how to teach a great stay, or anything else, check out this trainer's channel: Kikopup. she's outstanding. (and no, it's not me,she is in San Diego, I'm in LA) hope this was helpful for some confused owners out there.

i have a dog he is 2 years old. he doesnt know anything and i dont really want him to know tricks or anything too much. he does know 1 trick. he can follow anything wherever it goes.

I have a west highland terrior named harry he is 8 and very lazy when he wants to be lol I've taught him sit shake lie down and stay but the thing is it's hard because he dosent play with toys so I really need to wait til he is in the mood to play!!

wouldnt this mess up the command (come here) singal cuz he is used to staying on the ground for the treat and fucking the whole thing up? cuz im having that exact problem right now also my dog gets sit and down/stay the same thing, damn maltise, any advice? anyone?

i use stay as a freeze comand....it's verry funny....

i have two dogs...a 3 years old doberman and 3 months a german shepherd puppy...my doberman learned to stay verry fast,but the puppy if i'll put him into a down position he won't get up because he doesnt want to,not because i telll him to stay...and i tryed with a lot of distraction,but he still doesn't move...i have to leave the room to make him move...

hmm these video help on my little dog but if i try to even teach my big dog to sit he will bite the threat of my hand if i put the thing close to him O.o what can i do!!!!!!!!!! i really need help
