No. Just... no. ICBMs are not launched from sub. Their missiles dont have the range. Also, there is not a nuke in the world with the yield to damage let alone destroy the ISS with thermal radiation from the blast. None. It would take a three hundred gigaton warhead to cause third degree burns to a person. Not enough to flash fry, or kill the ISS. Incidentally, a three hundred gigaton is enough to ruin the day for an entire continent. The largest nuke ever produced was 90 megatons.

Cause you know, this is how the space station looked during 2002.

Another thing is how the hell did it affect the ISS if it's OVER THE GULF OF MEXICO/FLORIDA. Which the game clearly indicates is NOT in range of the EMP.

As for the destruction of the ISS, nuclear fission and fusion releases HUGE amounts of energy and heat, which radiate out from the reaction itself. The "shockwave" people are famiar with is actually evidence of the Earth's atmosphere, landscape, etc. SLOWING THE REACTION DOWN. In space, a nuclear reaction would have a MUCH LARGER blast radius, as their less mass out there to slow its progress. 12 warheads (i.e. 1 MIRV missle) could EASILY take out the station from that distance.

Folks, it's a nuclear ICBM from a Russian Typhoon-class sub. These missles can be programed to detonate in any order you choose from the sub's master command console (don't ask me where Price got sub missle launch codes). So Price launched the nuke and gave it orders to detonate its entire payload before the final stage of the missle kicked in (MIRV aspect), Hence no fireball on Earth but an EMP blast.

no, it's a nuke, detonated in the upper atmosphere. all nukes cause an emp burst when detonated.
