These games are awesome but the imported versions are japan and many of us can't understand it, its worthless for those who would like to play it. I loved the one on ps2 that one had awesome graphics took me awhile to beat the game i loved the combinations of making weapons,armors,guns and items mixing up combinations it would take years to create all the different things plus trying to dig them out of the mountains with pick axes that game was the best i've seen wish they was usa version of it.

@EmmanuelSupertramp if you got it for ps3 it should of came with the japanese ad-hoc download. That is what you need to get online. Also you MUST have a wired connection in order for it to work.

@xxAngelaaahxx So far there are no intentions on it being release outside of japan. The online is different from the wii version only in that the servers are user created (ad-hoc)

@DeathProof1343 you can play it on any PS3 but for online your Ps3 needs to be connected to the internet with a ethernet cable in order for ad-hoc to work

If you've ever owned the MH3rd Portable on PSP, you'll love the HD update ported to the PS3. Digitally remastered, the graphics look crisp, fresh, and visually stimulating.

I've put in nearly 150 hours into this game and am still playing. It's in Japanese, but on PSP, there is an english patch to turn the entire game to english.

@shintaqo Just because a game is not region-protected, or is region-free, does not mean it's in every language. It is in the language that the developers had put on it, and this is of course Japanese. But who knows, they might patch in an English patch(doubt it).

@shintaqo It won't. So if you have played any other monster hunter for a substantial amount of time, I.E 300-400 hours, you should be fine. Just import it for about $80. Its well worth the price.
