@Torgeytits metallica was not popular in the 80's, not until about 89. If you walked up to about 95% of anyone in 86 and asked them if they knew who Metallica was they they would reply "who?" They were never on the radio (except maybe in Frisco) or MtV, Until late 88 early 89. All you kids these days think Metallica were big from the start, but they really werent and had to really bust there asses to get anywhere. Look at James shoes in any picture from then, there all duct taped up!

same genre. Anthrax is the most energitic and "powerful", Slayer is the hardest and evilest, Metallica is ( Or was.. ), and Megadeth is the most thrash sounding. And the best, they ALL are awesome.

But still, how you said kids don't know Anthrax nor Megadeth.. I've been listening to thrash since I was 13 years old ( 20yo now ), and I've known them all since that. I never liked Slipknot nor any shit metal which I call teen pop either. Dedicated metalheads -do- know the big four.
