  • Whoa

  • that was sick, but not at all hard ta do!

  • 2006...looks like 1994

  • cool

  • Jon! you rock dude! stoked to have you recording with us on our CD...

    VDB!

  • @FyvieLife hehe thanks Howie! Can't wait to hear the results bud. Thanks for inviting me to be part of it.

    Be blessed,

    Jon

  • the straight double bass part sucked but im not putting anything against you, since it was 4 years ago, i betyouve gotten alot better. nice job for 16. you remind me of some-what mike portnoy.

  • @killu626 thanks man! I've changed my playing a lot.. check out my other videos.

    Peace,

    Jon

  • gj man that was good for a 16 year old

  • @shitdoeg thanks!

  • great technique. now you can try to develop actual musical skill!

  • nice toms sound

  • meh

  • the double bass was like a car trying to start O_o

  • that guy sucks!! your drumming its boring!!!

  • bout time for a new head on that snare eh?

  • nothing great tbh, the double pedal isnt everything in a solo . .

  • his hand technique is awfull..

  • So what ?! IF he's playing very well

  • Love it. This solo is on my ipod. I just been getting used to double bass and so im trying to get this down.

  • lol why dont u like AV7X? if you give me an answer that isnt extremely opinionated and is actually logical or backed up by anything then ill listen.

  • The snare's got a crapy sound. And double-bass drumming it's NOT just speed. In my opinin you have to improve you technique. But the speed it's preety good ;)

  • i was like that when i first started...fast fast fast all the time fast as i can go, more flash = more claps.......yea i still go fast but now i've learned to utilize the o'lllll saying "less is more" mentality, and shine with tastes or moments.

obviously this is a solo, either he was in a band, or a try out, or competition which in that case..yea dude go for it if it was a comp.

    Good job

  • too bad he didn't actually play a beat.

  • Im not sayin im a better drummer, or he sucks or anything like that, but double bass means double bass, this waz more of a flam bass solo.

  • @obagysan that's funny and also true! that was actually one of the first times I ever played double-bass.. in fact, I remember we got 2 different bass drums, put them together and started messing around hehe

    Jon

  • what kind of drums are those

    they sound great

  • its a cheap noname-kit, you can see it on the lugs, metal bass drum hoops, etc, and it sounds awful.

  • not bad, but you need to set up your rack toms a bit better

  • @drummercymbalsamples haha that is sooo true! I can't believe I was confortable with that set up lol

    Thanks for your comment.

    Jon

  • need to work on solo techniques... just a bunch of noise your making. Drums sound flat and need a tune... maybe matching heads will help lol

Also work on control, kinda sloppy. Good start. With time and practice it will get better

  • check out his Live Drum Solo.

maybe you'll see the technique there

  • @XSymphony Thanks!

  • oh... this sucks, really, only noise-double-pedal-metalguy-wannabe-lol

  • yaa this sucks .. not technical at all

  • get MATCHING drumheads.

  • Why??

  • haha this is how i play whever i practice i just play speed on my double bass in between short notes so addicting

  • i KNOW lol!

  • has skill but seriously, there were 50 time changes in that

  • excelent! jaja a mi me gusto, no es aburrido como decis jaja, saludos y ahora me suscribo fenomeno y veo tus otros videos! suerte!

  • not so good. easy to do stuff.

  • that was terrible no feel at all; what a joke.

  • agreed. it all seems tight and rushed

  • pretty uneven if you ask me, a bunch of noise it was

  • heavy hitters ar cool. alot of double bass..

  • this is really good:) I think all the "bad" comments here comes from those who doesn't know what a drum solo is..cause this was awesome;)

  • somehting called a drum solo

  • do an actual beat

  • you should try doing some 16th notes with those double pedals

  • HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

  • that's called noise, not a solo.

  • its called double bass drum solo. But if its double why is it called solo?? lol

  • at the begiinin it sounde like raining blood

  • awesome kit sounding and good drumming

  • great sounding toms

  • not to bad man defiantly good

  • ...

  • um.. fast forwarding for the loss

  • its alrgith nothing great

  • ....hmm

  • very good but also boring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • read the description!

  • Not bad

  • nice man

  • yeah was pretty good!

  • aren't you in burning the masses?

  • for a drum solo it actually wasn't half bad

  • how about have a style instead of just being fasst on basic double bass kicks

  • nice

  • You don't ever use the ride cymbal like a crash, and you are way too heavy on the toms.

You're also doing the double bass roll the whole entire time.

  • Alex Van Halen uses all ride cymbals, heavier cymbals equals deeper tones. Unlimitless ride potential.

  • nope i heard drum sticks hitting together you suck, quit drumming, quit life

haha jk that was really good

  • Thats Tight man very good

  • INTENSE

  • thats amazing!! i love ur kit bro, wat snare is that?

  • good but personally i like you better on the hands then the feet, youre bpm sounds faster on hands, nice keep t up :)

  • that's nice. hearing this makes me want to practice more ^_^

  • I can play this and i have done it live. So it isnt impressing me. but its good of course ! :)

  • lol....awesome

  • very good!!!!!

  • its crazy to see people be so critical in these comments, even though they know that they could never play as good as u lol. good video dude, i like ur style

  • you're stressed out

  • don't quit your day job =/

  • are you kidding? -_-

  • weak dbp i heard you flaws bro!!!!! keep practicing

  • did you not read the date, it was like 2 years ago, i'm sure he has improved in that time...

  • wow nice stick control

  • nice dude that ws amazing

  • i will say u got some good rolls though

  • good solo, bud! you get some good sounds! how long have you been playing double?

  • pana eres caraqueño? tienes banda?

  • Beautiful, my ears were hungary and now their full.

  • good stuff

im 16 and im also working on that kinda stuff nowadays

the playing was sloppy at points, but no1s perfect.

    ur drums sound great

  • i thought it was preaty sickk keep it up dude

  • you could make it sound even faster if you sped the tape up a little more...

  • its not sped up it's bad yes but not sped up you can see the lady in the background moving at totally normal speed proof it wasn't sped up none the less it was still bad

  • I Know I was just kiddin' around

  • fast, but not good.

  • you do not deserve the kit you play. that is all

  • this is not music to my ears. this is crap

  • this is good (better)

  • not sped up..by the way..nice job

  • Nice Man,Should Be In A band

  • great job, btw is this outside or something lol?

trying to get my bass to sound like that, not working for me

  • i like this one

  • so un-coordinated its not even funny, work on blending your techniques with the sound of the bass. but other than that you have great speed

  • that was cool man, keep going!

  • O_O, man that was awesome

  • why do you pple gota hate?!?! if you dont like it, thne fine, but at least give the guy some credit for what it is. thats tight man, what were you doin with your feet? and then hands?

  • This is why I will forever hate metal drumming, double bass is retardedly overused and boring.

  • Maybe you find it boring because you suck at it, start rehearsing, try to do it RIGHT, change rythms, switch feet patterns and perhaps you change your mind about it, BTW, listen to Richard Christy, Nicholas Barker and Scott Travis among others, try to imitate them and then you can make a righteous criticism.

  • Really great. You have future.

  • that's totally rawrsome...almost sounds like the intro to Van Halen's "Hot For Teacher". AMAZING

  • im sorry, what was the point of that? just noise really

  • Bravo..
