There's a strong lack of professional refereeing shown here, putting their organization on the same plain as the crowd after a keg or two, and if you people don't have the guts to disqualify players for this type of conduct (King's), then you deserve to have bullies like him walk all over your face then don't ya,... and by the looks of it, you do!
I once saw Mervyn King use the '10 Items Or Less' checkout at my local Tescos, and he had 11 items in his basket. The man is quite obviously beyond control.

You are right about the black zone meant to prevent players from standing too close to an opponent while throwing. But that is only one reason for the black zone. If it were the only reason then there would be no reason for the black zone to extend forward towards the board as it does. It is also meant to keep players from "rushing" the opponent by throwing before the opponent retrieves his darts.
