@MrQ8center not necessarily... had it not been for Horry's clutch shots, the series he was in could've gone the other way... examples: if not for his clutch shot in 2002 against the Kings, Kings could've gone 3-1 vs Lakers and a shoo-in for the Finals, dethroning the Lakers in 5 as the series shifts back to SacTown.. if not for his big time shot in Game 5 of the '05 Finals vs Detroit, the Pistons could've taken the 3-2 lead and closer to a repeat back-to-back since '89-'90...
I used I Remember You for a nostalgic feel, plus a few of the lines worked for what I was doing. Everything during that song was from a former team (Rockets, Lakers).
Robert Horry is the Will Smith of NBA... hahaha... I really admire this guy, one of my fave player of all time. Big shot when needed.. big heart during playoffs season... Thanks for the memories Robert...
will always be 1 of my fav Lakers...he has won more rings than anybody this decade, has been very instrumental to all those championship teams LAL/SAS/HOU('94-'95,'00-'02,'05,'07),never wants any airtime, never the one to bring attention to himself, a true hall of famer with 7 championships(& counting)its really a nice tribute. The only time I see him struggle(bad would be an understatement) is when he play against the LAL...it wouldn't surprise me if the LAL pick him up next season!

My favorite player of all-time. Amazing the plays he makes in the playoffs even though he is certainly no all-star. It is no coincidence he has seven rings, this guy is cold as ice.

man thank you. all im trying to say is that only a fool argues with 7 rings. a player could be a coattail rider for 2 rings maybe. but horry made huge contributions on EVERY team for which he played. for someone who plays small forward all the way up to center. he is a versatile player. lazy? lazy players dont hang around, just ask john williams & oliver miller. lazy people dont play 15 seasons. smoke is a buffoon. or maybe horry broke his team's hearts once or twice

im not biased im a fan of the game. im a robert horry fan but i was a ralph sampson fan but he doesnt belong in the HOF in my opinion. i like a lot of players that i wouldnt put in the HOF. i wouldnt say reggie or malone but that's because i hate them for other reasons. I wouldn't say reggie or MALONE? LMFAO. Karl Malone is one of the 15 greatest players of all time. Over 19 seasons he has compiled a 25ppg 10rpg average. He's one of the most durable players ever to play the game. I don't care if you hate Karl Malone, to say you wouldnt have him a hofer must makes you a fucking idiot.
chill w/the namecalling on a PC screen. that's pussy shit. i said no reggie & karl for other reasons, i had enough guts to admit, that i just dont like them. but whatever. youre not really that bright. you make up some shit or think that the game is played on paper. that's what you dont get. you werent even old enough to appreciate how good either player was. youre a child. im done
What....we don't get any video of Horry when he was on the Suns...haha that was the worst trade in NBA history. When the Rockets traded all those players away for F-ing Charles Barkley.
of all sports since the globalization of pop (american) culture. i think except for maybe pete sampras in tennis, no one has done the work quietly, consistently & effectively the way he has. he'd be 1 of my first blocks if i built a team
Uh...Pete Sampras is the greatest player of his respective sport (for now anyway). Pete Sampras is more akin to Michael Jordan then Robert Horry lol. The way some people try and overrate Horry is such a joke. The guy has a 7.2ppg .426%FG career average lol. Besides some big shots he was never even that good of a role player even, less a star.
btw. pete sampras is only defined by his longevity. that was the comparison i was making. also, horry IS on top. you cant argue with 7 rings. if he was ever greenlighted, his scoring avg would be higher. if you knew hoops you'd know that much. shit, what does a field goal % mean anyway? the biggest guns in league history have shot less that 45%. do you even understand bball?
upabittoolate by your definition Steve Kerr and John Salley should also be Hall of Famers. Also Horry has been in the playoffs 16 out of 16 because he played with Hakeem, Drexler, Bryant, O'Neal and Duncan. Obviously if you make the playoffs 16 times and play with players of that magnitude you will win championships.
Clutch player, but he may have been the biggest band wagon player in the history of the NBA (see Bill Simmons article). That and he had a bad attitude some of the time (throwing a towel in his coaches face). Sadly his biggest 'shot' may have come against the Suns when he checked Nash into the boards.
No, most every player would want to play for a winning team.
He's a bandwagon player in the fact that he would do anything, including throwing a towel in his coaches face, complaining to the media, etc. to get out of a bad situation. He would demand a trade because he didn't like to help rebuild a team, instead wanting to go to a team that already had the pieces so he could get his rings. Smart moves, but he did act like a moron in Houston a few times.
Quit hatin on Horry! No matter what you call him he is Mr. Clutch. Honestly I wouldn't want to be on a rebuilding team either. Why u trying to mess up his legacy.Give him his props. I don't see ur sorry ass out there on the court, but u wanna judge someone else.UR A JOKE!
you dont understand pro basketball do you. bandwagon? why is a starter on 7 championship teams an bandwagon player. in every other profession, they call that a specialist but because your mouth is all around kobe's scrotum he's a wagoneer? that nash check was shady but look who got the ring
With that statement, I'm going to have to question YOUR understanding of pro basketball. You do realize he wasn't a starter on 7 championship teams like you claim don't you? He came off the bench on at least 4 of them, including last year.
Just read Bill Simmons' article on him and he explains it perfectly. Basically, if his team sucks, Horry will act like a baby and try to get traded to a better team.
wow i almost missed that comment. i dont really care what bill simmons has to say. all youd have to do is look at minutes played on his stat card to tell if he started & how much burn he got. i just looked, go look for yourself
Its not the ammount of ring this man has, its his participation of those championship teams, he hit some of the most important shots in those championship runs
Lmfao. Robert Horry should absolutely NOT be a hofer. Besides a few big shots here and there he wasn't even a decent role player for most of his career. 7.2ppg and .426% career averages are gonna get you in the hof? I don't think so.
horry is a famer. if you built a team today, you'd pick him. you want to use career avg but that is not a telling stat because he was never greenlighted on any team. it's easy to say that he only scored 7/game. but if youve been watching the NBA for the last 15 yrs, you know that he's the man taking your last shots in a game.
No I wouldn't. He is possibly one of the laziest players ever. He has never done anything in his career consistently. Was never close to an all star. It's ridiculous to say someone is a hofer because they made some clutch shots when they didnt crap in their career otherwise.
greatness is a practice not an act & horry hit important shots as a habit. i'll be your idiot on a screen, fu q. your talking about no all star appearances for someone who was never greenlighted. he's always played w/dual 20+ppg players ALWAYS. hakeem & vernon(later clyde); shaq & kobe; david & tim (later parker) it's not like he had a chance to shoot a lot. how many shots did anyone get. PLEASE, LEARN BASKETBALL. here's an easy question, with 0:05 left in a game, who do you want shooting?
7 championships. I hope he goes for that 10th, that'll really be the shit. But I remember him after the championship game sayin that he was goin to try to play one more year. You never know though, Mutombo was spose to retire this season, but he's still playin because he wants to mentor Yao Ming.
Robert would be crazy to play in the east. He couldnt win a championship there no matter how many big shots he hits. And besides, robert said he wanted one more ring to pass pippen. Which means he will come back to SA. then retire
He's a beast

of all sports since the globalization of pop (american) culture. i think except for maybe pete sampras in tennis, no one has done the work quietly, consistently & effectively the way he has. he'd be 1 of my first blocks if i built a team
upabittoolate 4 years ago
Uh...Pete Sampras is the greatest player of his respective sport (for now anyway). Pete Sampras is more akin to Michael Jordan then Robert Horry lol. The way some people try and overrate Horry is such a joke. The guy has a 7.2ppg .426%FG career average lol. Besides some big shots he was never even that good of a role player even, less a star.
smoke117 4 years ago
btw. pete sampras is only defined by his longevity. that was the comparison i was making. also, horry IS on top. you cant argue with 7 rings. if he was ever greenlighted, his scoring avg would be higher. if you knew hoops you'd know that much. shit, what does a field goal % mean anyway? the biggest guns in league history have shot less that 45%. do you even understand bball?
upabittoolate 4 years ago
upabittoolate by your definition Steve Kerr and John Salley should also be Hall of Famers.

How is he a bandwagon player? Because he likes to play for contending teams?
xCOMPETITIONx 4 years ago
No, most every player would want to play for a winning team.
He's a bandwagon player in the fact that he would do anything, including throwing a towel in his coaches face, complaining to the media, etc. to get out of a bad situation. He would demand a trade because he didn't like to help rebuild a team, instead wanting to go to a team that already had the pieces so he could get his rings. Smart moves, but he did act like a moron in Houston a few times.
leftie5 4 years ago
Quit hatin on Horry! No matter what you call him he is Mr. Clutch. Honestly I wouldn't want to be on a rebuilding team either. Why u trying to mess up his legacy.Give him his props. I don't see ur sorry ass out there on the court, but u wanna judge someone else.UR A JOKE!
xCOMPETITIONx 4 years ago 2
well, people usually like winning.
so i dont blame him for being smart and going to good teams
betterthanmagic 4 years ago
you dont understand pro basketball do you. bandwagon? why is a starter on 7 championship teams an bandwagon player. in every other profession, they call that a specialist but because your mouth is all around kobe's scrotum he's a wagoneer? that nash check was shady but look who got the ring
upabittoolate 4 years ago
With that statement, I'm going to have to question YOUR understanding of pro basketball. You do realize he wasn't a starter on 7 championship teams like you claim don't you? He came off the bench on at least 4 of them, including last year.
Just read Bill Simmons' article on him and he explains it perfectly. Basically, if his team sucks, Horry will act like a baby and try to get traded to a better team.
He is clutch though.
leftie5 4 years ago
wow i almost missed that comment. i dont really care what bill simmons has to say. all youd have to do is look at minutes played on his stat card to tell if he started & how much burn he got. i just looked, go look for yourself

Its not the ammount of ring this man has, its his participation of those championship teams, he hit some of the most important shots in those championship runs
eblockzmost 4 years ago
despite averaging less than 10 points per game in his career, he should be a hall of famer for having 7 rings!
rollercoasterfweak 4 years ago
Lmfao. Robert Horry should absolutely NOT be a hofer. Besides a few big shots here and there he wasn't even a decent role player for most of his career. 7.2ppg and .426% career averages are gonna get you in the hof? I don't think so.
smoke117 4 years ago
horry is a famer. if you built a team today, you'd pick him. you want to use career avg but that is not a telling stat because he was never greenlighted on any team. it's easy to say that he only scored 7/game. but if youve been watching the NBA for the last 15 yrs, you know that he's the man taking your last shots in a game.
upabittoolate 4 years ago 3
No I wouldn't. He is possibly one of the laziest players ever. He has never done anything in his career consistently. Was never close to an all star. It's ridiculous to say someone is a hofer because they made some clutch shots when they didnt crap in their career otherwise.
smoke117 4 years ago
greatness is a practice not an act & horry hit important shots as a habit. i'll be your idiot on a screen, fu q. your talking about no all star appearances for someone who was never greenlighted. he's always played w/dual 20+ppg players ALWAYS. hakeem & vernon(later clyde); shaq & kobe; david & tim (later parker) it's not like he had a chance to shoot a lot. how many shots did anyone get. PLEASE, LEARN BASKETBALL. here's an easy question, with 0:05 left in a game, who do you want shooting?
upabittoolate 4 years ago
Oh and here's a better question: Who do you want shooting the first 47:55 mins? It sure as hell isn't Horry.

Which means he will come back to SA. then retire
