  • Very great imagery. Thank you very much for actually taking the time to put something meaningful to this piece!

  • Im 60, the older I get the better this sounds, I find it hard to explain what this music does to me but I will try, it seems to go down deep into me untill it reaches my soul, when it does it turns my body to jelly my heart leap and my eyes weep...

  • simply timeless and unforgettable You can play this year round & never ever get sick of it....For that matter you can play it all your life and never tire of it...

  • I love instrumentals, and this is one of my favorites. Thanks for the download.

  • This is my parents' "song". Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad! Happily married 47 years.

  • I was in love with a Peter Gunn from NY living in Sydney & we would listen to this beautiful piece & knew one day we would part but the heart always remembers beautiful things--thanks Bill & Peter for sweet memories.

  • Makes me think of my old girlfriend Carole and our winter love. Beautiful and sad.

  • Very pretty

  • It's indeed a great tune, but I wish Pursell didn't go with that intentionally over-modulated guitar solo as heard on the left. I always felt that it took away from the beauty and soothing melody of this tune by adding an unexpected abrasive sound. With all due respect, I always felt that a more normal and gentle sounding electric guitar solo would have been a better fit.

  • Wonderful imagery. I have been looking for this song for years. Brings back memories when I was romantic and young! THANK-YOU!!!

  • They will never write songs like this again....NEVER....

  • "Our Winter Love" takes me back almost 50 years to when I was married to the only woman I ever loved. The marriage lasted only several years, but this was "our song", and I still think of her, and I still love her!

  • @josephR1938 Read your comment about 'Our Winter Love'....never married.....but this song makes me remember some fond memories.....

  • one of the most beautiful musical arrangements ever, thanks, bill

  • Ths is to lovely for words,Im a Aussie male nearlly 60,I have cherished this music since my youth, its takes my heart and soul of dancing with the angels,

  • I remember listening to this so many years ago. It always stuck with me and I eventually found the 45 rpm vinyl single which I still have. It is a beautiful piece of music, so romantic. It speaks volumes of what love is all about when you have that special person in your life as I had once. I miss him every day and wish that he was still on this earth with me.

  • @ souldiegirl - thanks a very nice piece of music and arragement I fav in my private play list I like it a lot of course the vid makes it really nice but many slides or imagery would work with such a nice song - thanks I listen many times and then just replay as I clean the office a little nice sounds as bacground as I cleaned as so cool lol - Thanks Again <3 - Bobby

  • As I believe I once said about Percy Faith's "Theme from a Summer Place" elsewhere on YouTube...as somebody who grew up in the AOR/MTV era, I hear something like this and find myself achingly nostalgic for a time I never actually knew.

  • Well, I'm back and I still get that 'choked up' feeling when I listen to this. Its a blistering heat wave and I'm still lost in this snow song. Heart starts beating faster and breathing gets shallow....STILL . Miss my husband so much STILL.

  • @destinysdarlin1 - I know what you are feeling when you hear this beautiful piece of music. Listening to it reminds of what I had as I stated in my comments previously. It is so hard when you lose that special person in your life as we both have. May you find comfort in the wonderful memories that you had with your husband.

  • @cmina1952 -Thankyou for such a lovely note. I too feel your pain and loss and am so very grateful that we both had someone we were so in-love with ....and still am. Its a beautiful feeling to have experienced a love so rare and ohhhhhhh the pain that the ripping away felt. Still get teary - eyed with this. Now it most likely will never end if I'm still tearing up some 5 1/2 years later. He died at Christmas. Maybe its the snow here, don't know...and may you find sweet tenderness here as well.

  • All I know is it gives me goosebumps

  • I used to plug this into the juke box in the student union while I ate my 65cent dinner and studied. I had a number of genetic throwbacks huff and puff and give me trouble...dumb shitz...life is full of peace and quiet and winter love.

  • Great song! It always brings back memories of snowy nights during my senior year of high school. We certainly had an eclectic mixture of music playing on our Top 40 stations back then. Thanks for a musical trip down memory lane.

  • Liatening to this song and reading the comments made by these veterans really makes me teary-eyed. How can any sane person demonstrate against these guys and especially the ones that came home in caskets. It is so sad......

  • Reading the comments by our brave military guys really makes me teary-eyed. How can any sane person demonstarte against our soldiers???? This son causes one to step back and be thankful for what we have. Many of those overseas didn't make it back.So sad.....

  • To all you military guys from the Viet Nam era and present day Middle East conflicts commenting on this post, God Bless all of you and thank you for your service to our country. Too many friends didn't come home and this song only deepens the sadness of their loss. This song is so damn Surreal in bringing back memories of the better times of America.....Thank you for preserving what is left of Her though.

  • @summerbrezzeandwinds

I second that emotion! Well said & well put! This is one of the most beautiful and romantic songs ever written!

  • @summerbrezzeandwinds : Semper Fi and Welcome Home my Brother. Long ago and far away--- a lesson in life for most of us! Best Regards, ron

  • This type of Song will always bring melancholy memories of those special moments both good and bad. For me it was in 1963 my junior year in a new high school and I missed my old friends. I looked out the window of by bedroom and watched the snow falling while this song was playing on the radio. A similar situation happened when I returned home from the Army and thought of the friends that I had lost in Southeast Asia. A great arrangement which touches your soul. Ron

  • @rvictor64 I understand the sadness that you can feel deep in your gut. I too, remember coming home from Vietnam and seeing that everything had changed and wandering about friends lost in VN . I also knew that I was not the same person that left a year earlier. Friend that once were close were no longer there when I returned and seemingly the whole country had changed. And it had.

  • @shortroundify : Yes it had changed and it was more evident to us because we were in the military that has long term fundamental standards. Like you said, we returned to a society that rejected us and the standards that we represented. What is happening in our liberal society today is a carry over from those days when we started becoming a Nation in Discord. Welcome Home my Brother! Ron

  • Sleep............and dream of better times !!!!!

  • É lindo meu amor!!!;-))Eu amei♥♥I L S M♥♥

  • GOOD WORK! AND EXCELLENT SONG. 1962?

  • @daniabjo In L.A., the song came out in March 1963

  • absolutely haunting in its timeless beauty. what a score!!

  • I don't understand it but I play this so many times and each time I still get goosebumps.Do you? wow NOt often that happens. Something almost spiritual happens in this music. It reaches for heaven . The sky is bluer, the grass is greener and the grass on my side is actually,,,,,,, greener.

  • @rp316117 ...and the tears flow more freely !!!!!!

  • @TheDiscoDays Oh yes the tears do flow . I just heard terrible news. My 17 year old son has a malignant brain tumor and I am so anxious with this...... Yes the tears flow but this music is so soft and hopeful. Thanks.

  • Come now, three dislikes? You're killin' me. This is a beautiful instrumental by Bill Pursell and orchestra. I remember hearing this classic back in 1963 on KOMA radio OKC. Reminds me of those cold winter months in Oklahoma. Good post and thanks.

  • @ra15899550 ...perhaps those three dislikes never had their girlfriend lay her head on their shoulder and they cruised the drive-in when this was on the radio. My girlfriend actually cried while saying I love you, to me when this song was playing one night. I was a senior in high school then.....my, how the time has passed. Yeah, Lou Gerig, I too, was one of the luckiest men to be alive then. Now i get teary-eyed thinking of her.

  • Thank you so much, I have been looking for this song for years!

  • @robertdamico1 You are entirely welcome. I am glad that you found this song. BTW, Bill Pursell viewed my video and left a comment.

  • @DrinkingStar beautiful photo montage! Outstanding music! Sadly, they don't make songs like this anymore! Where do you live?

  • Beautiful Video...Awesome Music..

  • @flyerspa67 Thnx for you comment. I have several other music videos here you might like.

  • What instrument produces the ultra low bass sound at 0:57?

  • Three viewers must really hate winter.

  • A masterpiece. Spring of '63, I remember hearing this for the 1st time, & running to the record store to get it. I still have that 45. Classic. Wolfsky9

  • I have this on 45; great instrumental!

  • Love this song... Love your video to go along with it, that is pretty much what runs through my mind when I hear this... Now every year when the first snowflake falls, I go to my youtube and play this song! I'd like to see others like it for the seasons...

For fall, I love the Hugo Winterhalter song, Canadian Sunset... But it would be nice to have a researched collection for each season... Researched... Because this song is perfect!

    Thanks again.

...time for some hot chocolate and a replay!

  • Love this one!

  • Just in time for the holidays. It sure to bring us a warm and happy feeling inside of each and everyone of us. Happy Holidays Everyone. Y ; )

  • This is the sweetest, most moving song from the golden age of pop music. It is my favorite instrumental of all time and it was songs like this that made my teenage years in the 60s so very special. Thank you so much for such a wonderful video and for sharing this memory with us.

  • Makes me teary-eyed.....I let my "Kitten" get away from me in high school.....It was Evelyn's nickname because she liked to cuddle with me.....We only cuddled back in the 60's and those were wonderful innocent days of our youth..... Kids sure are missing the boat these days. Instead of Mr. Pursell, kids have Justin Dweeber (Beiber) !!!! What ????.Growing old sucks, but I'm glad I was around during the great music days of America. LOL

  • This great and if you want to hear a lyric version of this song The Lettermen do a great job.. Yes, there are words to this song.

  • This song takes me back to my teenage years. It congers up memories of my first 'hot' girlfriend, and the trail we blazed into young sexual experimentation. I can picture her face like she's sitting here next to me. Wow. What great memories you've brought back for me. Thanks for posting this song. These are memories I'll take to my grave.

  • LOVELY , SO WELL DONE

    angeleyes990

  • Never get tired of this. It's addicting or something..

  • This is a very old romantic piece that my husband and i really like for background music. Your camera work is excellent..Thank you uploader!

  • I remember this song, although its pretty, don' t you know it came out right after President Kennedy was assassinated? I was 5 yo and i remember it well

  • Each has their own interpretation. For me it is a hymn to the passages of time and fate in our lives.

  • Lovely, thanks for posting this! :-)

  • I met and fell in love with my future husband to this song in the winter of 1963. I never heard it again and had forgotten it until yesterday when it played on someone's radio. I didn't remember Bill Pursell, but I definately remembered the name of the song as tears began streaming down my face. I was determined to find this song again. Thanks to you tube I just did. And I will download it in memory of my husband who passed away 36 years ago.

  • I just listened to this mesmerizing song ten times in a row. Sounds silly, but If I do this a lot my days will be better. I know it.

  • @ToeIn2194 You are very kind to say something so warm. Yes, this is so beautiful and deeply romantic isn't it? I can't say that I blame you for listening to it 10 times....its soothing and takes us all into a dream state doesn't it? You are not silly to listen to it that many times........most of us have ;-) Blessings~~

  • Thanks PVcat1 for your bible verse.

  • This is magnificant, it makes my skin crawl it gets into my soul, makes me feel good but also makes me cry

  • Been looking for this everywhere... didn't have the right title...found it by accident... how lucky am I? Great tune!! Excellent video!! Thanks for posting!!

  • When I heard this music I got the shivers and I felt a real sadness that all this beauty around me , my family and just my extremely fortunate life in general has to come to an end.It was a mysterious feeling and I prayed that the Lord would give me the strength to face the final end. I know it sounds very strange but I really thought of all the lovely people in my life, my wife , my kids and how I want to be with them forever.Neverthless I know that God will provide.

  • @rp316117 Do not your situation or your spirtual beliefs, but I am led to lead you to Romans 10: 9-10, 9"That if thou shalt confess with they mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

  • This is beautiful, makes my soul meak my heart beat and my eyes weep.

  • Superb!

  • Beautiful!

  • Ahhh Absolutely Soo Very Beautiful!!!! Lovely Share & Post!!!..5*s Thankyou Gaz...Anita...<3

  • Although it has the word Winter in the title I always get a very warm feeling from this very beautiful music.I have very lovely memories of my wife and me in our younger Romantic days. Actually after 30 years I am still feel romantic when it comes to my wife. I just want our love to go on forever.

  • I see it as a walk on a cold winter weekend, with my wife, before we were married.. Our first winter together.. A nice hot cup of tea at home.. Or, a weekend afternoon drink with friends, at our favorite pub.. I can go in a lot of directions.. Or, making a big pot of spaghetti on a weekend, when it's really cold outside..?

  • The beauty of an instrumental creates the lyrics of memorable times plucked from our hearts and minds!

  • Another beautiful instrumentals from the 60s. It brings back so many warm memories that I would love to relive.

Another fantastic instrumental from the era and is on Youtube is Forever by the Little Dippers. It'll send you back in time.

  • It's a cold wintry day and you find a quaint new pub to enjoy with someone you care about . There is a small fire crackling in the middle of the room and the wood panels are aglow with streaks of light and warmth;,.,Maybe a second or third date and the fire and the conversation all the while is accompanied by Our Winter Love in the background. As you listen to each other no one else appears to be in the room- except for you two and the lilting melody of Our Winter Love!

  • can you make the mp3 available plz?

  • very few times do i comment or communicate on the enternet but your story moved me.sad open, honest and full of life.take the chance tomorrow and no matter how it goes life is an adventure anything less is robbing from it

  • I heard this when I was a young teenager back in the 60's. I loved it then and I love it now. My heart just melts when I hear it over and over. The love of my life passed away 4 yrs ago 12-28 and I can still see my self dancing in his arms to this. We met on Christmas Eve 1979 and it was snowing. For the longest time I couldn't breathe when I would hear this song after my sweet man died....but oddly....I can listen to this now.....still get choked up but I can breathe now. God Bless You All

  • @destinysdarlin1 So sorry for your loss. Trust in the Lord and He will guide your paths(Proverbs 3:5-6)

  • PVcat1. Thankyou, you're reply really warmed my heart and yes indeed I will read Proverbs 3:5-6.

  • @destinysdarlin1 Nice to have a "pen pal." Where did you grow up and where do you live now. Guess what, I am listening to Our Winter Love as I type. Absolutely love this song.

  • Hi, oh my...............Our Winter Love is so endless. I live in Gardner Ks just south Olathe Ks. where the New Century Airport is......lots of activitiy there. Grew up in Clinton Mo. moved to Kansas in '77. Met the love of my life in '79 and am finally 'making it' one step in front of the other. So keep the notes coming ;-)

  • @destinysdarlin1 I grew up in Concordia, Ks. Thanks for writing. I sitting here listening to Our Winter Love again. I just love it.

  • @destinysdarlin1 so sorry ---- life is so damn unfair!---- happiness is so fleeting and is gone before we realize it. /// we never know when our last time arirves, but if we share it up to the last moment at least we can say our love was complete and fulfilled.

  • @lpvcrcd Thankyou so much. That was a very thoughtful gesture to recognise the pain. But I will share something here publicly, I loved that man with great PASSION and I loved him crazy. That my friend is what sustains me now......NO REGRETS and many many days of thanksgiving for having loved someone so madly. Yes I hurt beyond any kind of english description......when pain cuts that deep, one can not breathe.

  • @destinysdarlin1 God bless you too. I lost my little boy too when he was only six and still grieve.

  • @rp316117 Sweet one, please accept my deepest sympathy...my heart hurts for your heart. I pray that our wonderful Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, wraps you in his arms and rocks you gently to sleep from here on out and kisses your tears away as you fall into peaceful slumber. Sweet Dreams dear one.

  • @rp316117 I am so very happy you still have your wife and still just as in love today as you were 30 years ago. That blesses my heart. I left a post thinking that it was a woman, please share it with your wife re: your little son. (it can be for both of you).

  • @destinysdarlin1 Your words are so beautiful, you are lucky that you have this wisdom in your heart, us humans are a funny lot ,I wish you the best and hope you are doing fine I also listened to this as a kid in the sixties ,I had an older brother who liked the instumental music and he had it on an old reel to reel tape,I have told my family that when I go I want a summer place playedat the funeral. Take care.
