i would not recommend this to fix your x-box, if you wanna over heat it to tep fix it just take it apart and unplug the fan, if you jam random crap in the blades to stop them all your doing is burning out the motor

Do not do this to your xbox guys! Yes it does work for a bit but it will come back. When you do this you are basically tricking your xbox into thinking it is ok when in reality its hurting it more. The problem with the E73 error is that the 4 chips on the mother board are overheating due to the poor ideas from Microsoft to have the sticky heat pads on the chips on the back of the mother board. You can permanently fix this if you watch "The penny trick". Its not hard to do.

(cost $20.) self mod the case by cutting out the top case and installing it with a pice of plastic and drill holes in it, install a usb fan and some cool led's. @LawnGnomeFlamer The most likely thing that happen to your Xbox is that your motherboard fried. Doing that or the towel trick or any other process that makes it heat up and cool down is very dangerous, it might work for a while but the end result is always the same, your Xbox is permanently broken. You'll have to pay Microsoft for them to send you a new one or buy a new or use one. Paying Microsoft to fix your problem is always the easiest thing to do because then you'll know it works for sure.
