  • 0:46 Every enemy pilot's worst nightmare.

  • If you watch the entire dogfight scene, when the captain tells them to splash the Zeros, they swing the wings back to full sweep, but that makes no sense since they would need to keep their speed down to a minumum to keep from overshooting the Zeros. Also, I wonder if the heat signature from a Nakajima radial engine would be enough for the seeker head of a Sidewinder to lock on to. I also suspect that the bust from the 20mm cannon would do more to the Zero than just punch a hole in the engine.

  • @rbilleaud I think one burst from the vulscan would make it like the Zero never existed.

  • @FutureMarine1775USA 0:46. Warning, objects in mirror may be closer than they appear!

  • The Zero was badly outclassed by the newer American propeller driven fighters during WW2.....but F-14s.....FUCK!! The stall speed of those huge Pratt-Whitney turbofans is almost higher than the top speed of a Zero. It's amazing how far aerospace technology progressed from 1941 to the 1970s when the Tomcat was created.

  • Silly japs! You can't hide in the clouds! Those guys have RADAR! XD

  • This never gets old.

  • rofl! rofl! rofl! rofl! arial dog fight? more like arial ballet nothing even happens

  • SPOILER ALERT: british spitfire comes out of nowere and distroys zero

  • Zero can outurn that jet shit!

  • ZEKEs vs. Tomcats... Winner: Tomcats!

  • i remember that movie,it was alright.

  • 1:50 at 1:54 hoooow boy!!!!!!!

  • ...WTF?

  • Tomcats forever baby!

  • ace with zero vs rookie with tomcat

    Who wins?

  • @randrianabel considering the tomcat doesnt have to get close to shoot the zero down guess who

  • @randrianabel That "rookie" in the tomcat has more flight and simulator hours than the ace in the zero. Todays simulators are almost as good as true flight hours. So given equal planes, I would bet on the rookie. Further the tomcat is 3 to 4 generations of aircraft beyond the zero, figure a match up rate of about 32 to 1, if it means anything.

  • @arzingher no, it would take one HELL of a lot more then 32 WWII Japanese Zero's to overwhelm a team of two F14 Tomcats. 1st off, You can't talk about it like "3 to 4 generations beyond the Japanese Zero", because it's apples & oranges....it's a Twin Jet Engine Military Aircraft vs. an aircraft from 40 years before it with no jet engines & a single, center-mounted propeller...okay, you might as well compare the original 1st White Bros. Plane with a Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird.

  • @IMaDEM0N My comment was aimed at a comparison of skill levels of the pilots only. I doubt that the F-14 have enough munitions to deal with 32 Zeros each. Although given the way the Texans(Zeros) were bounced by the jet wake the Tomcats may have another weapon. Keeping those skills sharp is what allows rookies to take on battle hardened pros and win.

  • How do you say "I just crapped my pants" in Japanese?

  • I'd like to see the F-22 vs the zeros. Pure ownage is ensured.

  • @Disturbed246810 but keep warning to the rain jajaj

  • its because this was a movie made in the 1980's my grandfather showed it to me the USS Nimitz gets blown back in time to december 6th 1941 this is supposedly what happened watch the movie u will understand

  • oh come on! Jet engines, WWII, we all know those aren't americans, they are Nazis.

  • @trechan The Nazis weren't the only ones with jet aircraft during WW II. The British had the Meteor, the US had the P-80 Air Comet (engine design from Britian) and Japan were working copies of Nazi jets. (Later in the war).

  • wtf? i dont get this zeros and f14s an un common dogfight

  • American jingoism...

  • A single burst from cannons on the F14 would have ripped the zero to shreds

  • I LOVE THE F-14 TOMCAT AT ALL

  • Those big A model cats were right at the stall speed with those prop jobs, I miss the old girl...

  • Amazing manouvers filmed in this movie
