I really don't know very much about North Korea, but it doesn't look so bad after all, people just try to live "normally" as in all the world, in fact, we have to evaluate or way to be, many people says North Korea's situation isn't well because they doesn't have an straight politic of consume, for me, we're the wrong ones, an excessive way to consume that capitalism imposes isn't responsible not socially, not environmentally even not economically, all of we know that. In many countries we're
@MrvelvetviruS losing our identity, we're forgetting what we're, everything by money; they don't forget their "history" and have and strong national identity, maybe in the wrong way, but they have it, many people is going to kill me for say this, but why are we always criticizing their way to live? do we live in perfection, no! in some many aspects we must learn about them..
There are many shops in pyongyang its just that only about 10 are occupied in the entire city because thats all the government can afford to run and not many shop at them anyway, thats why you see 100's of empty shop fronts there. If you are making 3 dollars a month as a 'common worker' how can you afford a $5000 car? Only high ranking party officials can have those. The DPRK is very strange, yet very interesting.
@mondroy There is no trash because there is nothing that can be thrown out! These people have no internet, no phone, no products, no cars, no TV, no liberties! More importantly, they bust their ass to show their best face to any tourist. Make no mistake. These people are raised, educated and taught to be robots.
Thanks for posting Kim Bar... It was totally amazing to see real North Korea and its people... Especially the Childrens Palace kids shows were amazing... and the University' Campus computer lab's far superior to what we have on our college campus in New York :'(

lol.. what? okay, walk in front of a policeman and say "Kim Jong Il may not be running this country correctly". *if* you have a story to tell me after that, I'll be happy to hear it.

Panmunjon: Your music is cool, the place isn't. Remove the music, North Korea is quiet, you don't have any sounds there - no commercials, a few cars, no sirens, no squealing tyres... Except of course, the propaganda in the morning.
I think it's all rather soulless.. much like a theatrical play but damn.. it is clean.

The population of Pyongyang is equal to Toronto. So where are all the people, shops and cars? Where is everything that make a city?
The people of NK must be tired of living under such conditions. I really hope they are able to make a change very soon.
