this is cool. i usually dont like bands that programme the music, but these guys are an exception, seeing as the drummer does have to play keyboards AS WELL. and besides, its not like there was no live drumming at all. he does play it in some parts.

I think it's pretty lame to not have a live drummer, If you wanna have a dude playing keys in your band thats cool buy that is in no way a substitute for a skilled ass drummer. I just feels like cheating to me, if I go see a band play live I want the music to be played live not triggered to a button.

Those time signature changes are so fluid and artistic. Samael have always been an elegant fixture for having such a heavy, bombastic sound and approach, in my opinion. They sort of age gracefully, not timidly, like some bands do.

Synchronizing the synths would be significantly more difficult than just using a drum machine. In addition to using programmed synths they would be stuck playing along with a metronome which is very limiting if you've ever played live. You have a tendency to play really fast live if the crowd is good.

I've seen them live once before. It appears Xytras does program some synths and plays drums when he can.
