  • This version and the album version are both good in their own ways. This version lacks the vocal quality that the other version has but makes up for it with this version's incredible rhythm. The Bee Gees had a certain magic to their songs.

  • The lead vocals on the album version are definetely sung by Robin, but in this demo Barry is singing.

Anyway a nice song. I personally prefer the album version.

  • If you read the bee gees ultimate bio you would see that the 'majority' of this (my favourite Bee Gees album ever) was MOSTLY Barry Gibb. The other 2 were having personal issues and it was Bazza who was in the studio 24/7 (coked off his tits)

  • The song reminds me of my time in Venezuela in the 1970's. Thanks for sharing.

  • The falsetto is a little bit too high ;)

    Otherwise,an unique song-

The studio version is far better...

  • I have the CD to " Spirits Having Flown" and the cleaned up version with the orchestra is awesome and sounds so much better. Everytime I listen to the intro of "Living Together" it just stands the hair up on my head!! Every song cut on that CD is Bad to the bone. Bees forever!!

  • I LIKE THIS SONG

  • I prefer thousands of times the normal version!

  • does anyone have the album version on here? thanks! :)

  • I had this album, I wore it out.Love all the bee gees work. My favorite albums are Main Course,Spirts having flown, and Living Eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Love there harmony.

  • this was from the spirits havin flown rite?

  • This demo sound better than the album version. It one of those song that does not required harmony.

  • oh barry du hast wohl weiblichste Stimme, die ich kenne...

es kann halt nur einen geben...BARRY^^

Viele Grüsse an alle Beegees fans in der ganzen Welt

  • Hi all! I have an opinion about lead vocals on this song... in this demo the only voice involved is Barry's for sure, whilst in the original recording Barry is the lead vocal except in the two "bridges" , where Robin sings " I'll leave my heart on you ..." and next again "My life was emptyness..."...I always thought so....CIAO from Italy!

  • Aloa Claudio

Meglio la versione "ufficiale",questa mi sembra assai fiacca...

    Ciao

  • That is absolutely correct, Claudio! The first bridge starts off "I lay my heart on you..." though but as you say Robin's lead is on those parts of the released recording while the rest is Barry. The "demo" is solely Barry.

  • thanks bee gees for all...

  • Yeah, it's Barry.

  • Most of you guys are all wrong!!

    This demo...It's Barry Gibb alone....

The official...couplet starts with robin..Barry's taking over halfway....Barry sounds a bit "thicker".....

  • It is Barry's voice for sure...

    -Crazy Bee Gees Fan

  • On the demo it is, on the finished work, it's Robin.

  • @LukeShoveller I was wondering if you have the entire video or audio clip of Robin's version of Living Together ? I'd love to see it posted! It would definitely be in my favorites! :)

    thanks! Lisa

  • The complete recording has most of the lead vocal sung by Barry, Robin only sings that lines I just put up, but I'll see if I can upload the finished work without it getting removed by WMG!

  • @LukeShoveller Thanks, Luke! I didn't realize both Barry and Robin did the falsetto on the final version. I thought from reading other posts that Barry did the demo and robin did the final...

but I am probably mistaken - Robin's falsetto was very refreshing!

Thanks for the info and I'll watch for any posts you put up!

    Lisa

  • Indeed, Barry sings everything he does on this demo apart from the lines in my little clip!

  • @LukeShoveller Thanks for your clarifcation! I enjoy your videos and the educational information you provide!

(PS - I have subbed our channel and tried to add you as a friend, but I have not heard back from you in that regard... hopefully I will!)

  • I am looking for a spirits demo that did not make the album. I think it is called Midnight and it is basicly Barry singing a speed up version of Andy Gibb's song Desire.

    Any body have it????

  • I agree both with Luke and ryankrarup. On the original version you'll hear clearly the vibrato voice of Robin. But I can also imagine why you think that it's Barry on original. Robin and Barry's voices are, though they're very different, sometimes creepy similar to eachother so you can't tell who's singing.

  • I agree with luke ^ definately Robin on original, and Barry on the Demo. Music has never been better than when the Bee Gees are a part of it....:)

  • hummmm, and I have the opinion after just now listining to Both versions, that it is Barry taking the lead in both the demo and the final version, they did rearrange the music some, but that is Barry's voice on both

  • @BeeGeesJunkie

it's Robin singing the verses and Barry taking the chorus on the final cut. the only time Robin took the lead on any of the Falsetto stuff he was normally just shadowing Barry on songs like Stayin Alive with his slightly weaker but higher pitched falsetto.

  • As it is more naked than the album version sounds even funkier. It's great great listening to the demo, with Barry taking the lead voice, unlike the album version which is sang by Robin.

One of my favorite Bee Gees songs, and in demo version which makes it even greater.

    Many thanks for sharing.

  • great song

  • This is the only song Robin sang lead Falsetto on, but I think this is Barry doing the demo.

  • So do you think the original was done by Robin? I'm like doubt that... But also in the original, it didn't sounds like Barry...the mystery continue...

  • Its not a mystery, its Robin on the finished recording. ;)

Its Barry on the demo of course.

  • thanks!!!!!

  • Thanks!!!
