i just got this phone today but the menu is weird. I saw in preview that the menu will change whenever we change the theme.... however this one is not... everytime i change theme... the menu won't change... can you guys tell me why is that??? i saw that the menu can looks like "x-box" or etc... i got this phone.. and the guy who sell it said it come from europe... even though it said made in malaysia. Hmm yeah the s500i i had had cracks on the keypad cos i dropped it twice, so i assume that if you were to drop it, the keypad'll crack:) Am using a W910i now, it's pretty awesome w the sensme thing:D

on the back of the phone it should say 07Wxx, xx means the week it was manufactured. So 07W30 means week 30

the reason why the keys crack is because the numbers are covered in a plastic material...so if you press them too hard they will crack, so just dont be hard with it. :)

oh no, the phone in the video was from the 1st batch of the s500i shipment that we received from our supplier. TIM was the 1st carrier to sell those phones. We don't have the ones with TIM logo anymore

oh, on the back on the phone, not the cover. it will say something like 07w30. the number after w is the week. so w30 means week 30.

the keypads do crack easy for the ones made prior to week 27. If you purchase a one that was made after week 27, you should be ok. If the keypads do crack for some reason, you can send it back to Sony Ericsson, they'll fix it for free

My Keys are cracked too, 4 and 6 only (as of now with only 6 days use) and that's after sending it to SE. That sucks because I love the phone (I got from addicted to phones ---> They rock!)

It took them about 10 days, plus a hold I put on it because I was going on vacation for a total of 2 weeks and a half. I have another cracked key since yesterday :( at least they keep working after cracking

That's the sad part, I don't, I noticed the third cracked key while I was putting a new phone number in my address book. :( I wrote an extensive letter to SE basically telling them that i love their phones and in 5 years I have never had an issue with them till the S500i and that besides my phone being cracked again I was not going to mail it back (pay for shipping, wait a week and a half at least) just to have it crack again. I'm really disappointed because I really love the phone

The speaker on the phone is very good, loud and clear. The ringtones are def. very good. Not bad at all. Although Sony claimed that the ones manufactured after 27 will have no problem with the keypads, but apparently people with week 28 or later still have cracked keypads. We believe it's not the paint that's causing the problem. It's the design of the keypads, They are just too thin. So if you text a lot, this is probably not the best phone for you.

For those of you who have cracked keypads, Sony will fix it for free, just call the 866 number for sony and they will give you instruction on how to send it to their repair center to fix the phone. ps- all of the s500i that we have in stock now were manufactured during week 30

The green paint used on the green phones had a bad reaction with the plastic keypads, Sony Ericsson fixed this in week 27 production models and so on. To check when your phone was made, it says W?? on the battery. If it breaks, SE will replace it cuz its got a year warranty.

Hi Brandford, we purchased this model from TIM, they are an Italian cell phone provider. That's why there's a TIM logo on the phone. I think the logo is removable with some rubbing alcohol. The one that you bought from Ebay might be from TIM too, bc they are one of the first to receive the S500i. Hope this helps.
