Although I hate truck-drivers I have found their tales of blood & mayhem consoling. How many songs have been composed in their honor? Who has the courage to deny a truck-driver's a romantic overtures? Is killing a truck-driver worse than killing a biker? Should I invite truck-drivers to my house regularly or what? If I kill a truck-driver will I be remorseful or what? [Cops don't know the law. They enforce the law.]
paul's the only one who looks like he did in 63. The other seemed to have aged a bit (hairstyles aside). I guess Paul just always had a low-stress attitude to life
"I'm gonna frame it!" :D I woulda done the same thing xD
Paul looks so cute just chillen there smokin his cigarette, twiddlin his thumbs and swinging his legs :) They are all so cute! :D it seemed pretty obvious they were tired of answering useless questions. they just wanted to play their music more then anything. I like how outspoken they are. so honest instead of acting so completely fake.
But, one thing I love about this interview is that it's quite obvious The Beatles were tired and did not want to be there and they showed it. Unlike celebs today who act all happy and cheery all the time.. The Beatles were the farthest thing from fake. I love it.
They very must remind me of bands today (when they're interviewed). When bands are so passionate about their music, I don't really think they care about any questions they're asked.
@PJGRBeatles4ever Paulie is a win-winn because he can be cute, handsome, and totally sexy also. John is just sexy to the max, bahaha! Ringo is a cutie, you're right.(:
@ThisVideoGetsMeMoist Thanks for stating the obvious, I know that, I'm not stupid. He wouldn't have been in the Beatles if he dies at 1958. He WAS 58 when he died of cancer...
I don't understand, well I do, I've been there and still going through it, why John called himself Fat Elvis during this time. He looked so cute with some meat on his bones. I call his early Beatles days, babyfat days.
fans were so obsessed with them... "and what are you going to do with the ciggarette?" "I think I'm gonna frame it!" Oh what am i saying..... I would probably be that obsessed too XD
What I like about these guys is how brutally honest they were in everything they did. If they were tired or upset, they woudln't pull a happy face or try to look chirpy, they would sit there and look sulky like they did in this interview, they look so tired and definitely not too keen on being ata press conference... and This was precisely one of the reasons people loved them so much and still do.
Amazing, only one question about music and it was a stupid one; just like all the other questions. Goes to show just how little the press took them seriously. But then again, as far as they were concerned, rock'n'roll was just silly noise and the Beatles were just a fad.
@BeatleUniversity-I noted that comment too, so sadly ironic. John was an amazing man with so much to share in music, philosophy, and life. His murder was beyond tragic; he stole John from his family, us and the world.
wow i cant believe john was 40 when he past away still kind of young thou..........so dumb ya epsecially johns murder that guy was just thinking waayyy off.................fuck him he shouldnt even get parol......keep him in there for life...........and it was just another day of johns life too u know just goin home to him apartment and as he aprroached like 20ft. away from da car or 30 maybe even 40ft lol he got shot in the back.....fuckin tragedy just stupid and foolish of that guy
Wow...Indeed, John's comment was so eerie and ironic. He was alive still when he was forty. But, he was forty for ony 3 months. Though, he did get to see Los Angeles. John's infamous "lost weekend" back in the 70s took place there with May Pang and Harry Nillson.
@BeatleUniversity So strange how he picks that age out of many... He could've said 50, but the fact he picked 40 is very strange. It is such a shame he died so young though.
@BeatleUniversity According to his biography, he had a premonition that he would be shot too. "I probably will not live very long, I most likely will be shot too."
No he probably wasn´t. According to Philip Norman, he started wearing contact lenses in ´63 or ´64 after the lead singer of some other band told him about it. Makes one wonder why Lennon started wearing glasses after ´66, since he used to hate them so much, and was too vain to wear them on stage.
Interesting comments by John. "If we live to be 40 years old we'd like to come back and see what the city looks like." He was killed shortly after turning 40. No electronic amplification? It wouldn't be rock'n roll without it! No unplugged for him. He also revealed that he wears contact lenses.
I love how George is so quite and shy not talking and then when a question about music and stuff to do with guitars he perks right up almost talking over John to speak. George is AWESOME may he and John rest in peace
Someone actually suggested that they should use less amplified, electronic sound on stage? People in those days seemed to be from Mars. Some of the questions and suggestions were so idiotic. Notice that when the conference finally ends the boys couldn't get out of there fast enough? LOL
@inkey2 John and Paul had a mutual friend who introduced them. George was a schoolmate and neighbour of Paul's. And Ringo was in another Liverpool band, but was recruited by George to join the Beatles when they got a record deal.
cvs2901, he said -- about the Help! period in 1965 -- "I really was crying out for help. It was my fat Elvis period. You see the movie: [I was] very fat, very insecure and completely lost." You can google 'John Lennon fat elvis' for the full interview.
Flerg3, you're right. And I don't know why I got a thumbs down on my original comment. Those were John's own words about himself. Ringo, too, in a later interview said the Beatles ballooned up in these middle years because -- literally -- the record label gave them celebratory dinners when their records moved up the charts. 20 number one hits will do that! But, yeah, John lost his in a hurry like you said.
