  • Is he wearing sneakers with a suit?

  • Yes, becasue they have to run in the bonus game, I guess they didn't want contestants ruining their rented shoes or falling on their face on high heels.

  • I loved the bonus round as a kid. I can't believe I found a clip of it so many years later...thanks for posting it!

  • Jim Hackett, who was the show's "computer operator", also was announcer for a handful of episodes! This one, however, has John Harlan doing those chores.

  • The guys who produced this gameshow - Rob Dames and Bob Fraser - wrote for the hit sitcom "Benson."

  • Cool calm and collective. He didn't even panic...he made it look soooo easy! I used to catch it everyday when it came on USA when it had it's game show marathon every weekday afternoon. Peter Tomarken is underrated as one of the great game show hosts of all time!

  • Theme song is very catchy, isn't it?

  • One of the most underrated theme songs in game show history. I just love the music for this show. It's up there with Now You See It.

  • I always did enjoy this bonus round music. There's an episode with Maggie Brown. She was on the pilot of Second Chance, and a contestant on Press Your Luck.

She played this bonus round and won with just a little less than 1 second remaining.

  • Was there ever a time where someone got a win in 1 attempt?

  • I know of one instance. The category was "Pretaining to Animals". His run only took 12 seconds.

  • Out of interest, what exactly was the grid about?

  • what car is this

  • You gotta be kidding me. They say what it is in the video!!

  • What's the record for the shortest time in this round?

  • KPLR in St.Louis(way before it was a WB/CW station)was inderpendent and aired this at 9:30pm after the KPLR news at 9.

  • Here's another Wipeout bonus round where they equally distributed the correct answers by putting 2 on each row.

  • the bounus round was called the minuite to win it

  • "Who's A Roman?" Gotta be Phil Roman, right? (that's one for you animation fans)

  • Thanks for posting, this was one of my ALL TIME favorite gameshows!!

  • This show should be on GSN.

  • Amen to that!

  • Double AMEN to that

  • Triple AMEN to that!

  • Hey can you post some more wipeout episodes??

  • I remember watching this at 11AM on my NBC affilliation back in the winter of 1989. Of course when I was off from school. When I was 6. My NBC affiliation in Philadelphia was totally different then most of then in the 80's.

  • I remember watching this show regularly when it came on at 3 AM. The ABC affiliate in Detroit broadcast it. What I did was that I left my TV on before I went to bed so that when I woke up during the night, I would watch it.

By the way, I was five or six years old at the time. Ahhh, memories.

  • "Wipeout" was on WXYZ-TV at 3:00 a.m.? Man, talk about a bad timeslot.

  • Wipeout was aired in Boston/Manchester via WMUR-TV. Sadly, no metro Boston station carried Wipeout.

  • Thanks for the full episode post!!

  • This is another great game show

  • Indeed! Nice win, too!
