@TheDylan100 Makes me wonder if some people pay attention to videos at all. He said the point of this method is to avoid the lava without degrading your tools. Using torches to block the lava accomplishes this perfectly. "just dig a hole around it" would degrade your tools.
I find it just to place water on top of it and take it back with your bucket so you dont have to spam click the lava, but the con about it is that u have to destroy all the cobblestone
Why not just construct an elaborate system of pistons, redstone, and pressure plates that direct sticky pistons to disperse the stones until the lake on the surface is opened and leaking onto the lava?
I wouldn;t usually comment, but I just wanted to say it's nice to see you doing minecraft videos, as much as I enjoyed your RS vids, I think your more of a minecrafter =].
@stopmotionmoose Or there was diaonds underneath that you didn't see, or it blocked your whole path, like it did in the video. So no, he is not an idiot, because he made a video for people to watch and learn from.
@stopmotionmoose I have seen you comment on previous videos, and all of them are always negative. If you don't like the videos, why are you subscribed? Here I will do the honors of unsubbing you myself.
Skit and Fawdz do this. I think

Another thing is that water can also wash away the torches once the lava is gone, saving you more time! Great vid.

@xergxilla You know what, that is actually smart :o Never thought of using it to wash the torches away after taking the lava out.

Don't you lose some torches when the lava you haven't reached yet spreads onto a torch, but it's a cool method nonetheless.

According to that socialblade website... you make:
$90.68 - $846.36 /day
$33,099 - $308,922 /yr
That's quite a bit of money that you definitely deserve.
