You little fucks. You deleted my comment correcting you on your rule mistakes. I wasn't even disrespectful about it either. Just review your rules before the show and use a clipboard with notes :\
It's got to be The Lore of Light with the spell The Speed of Light. 10WS & 10I, slap that on some Vargheists/Vargulf or Terrorgheist and watch them destroy your enemy's flanks/warmachines.
the lore of beasts does similar things to the lore of life mostly augment spells so that instantly becomes almost a cheese lore for vampires lore of life makes you tougher lore of beasts makes you more killy and slightly tougher
zombies or skellies will always be around, anything else on the board is toys to help them out.
Outrank the opponent and stay put, until you get some nasty up the flank, than eat them or chase them off the board. There aren't many opponents, that can gobble up your guys faster than you can replace them and your guys won't flee, so as long as your own flanks are safe, you win every combat in the end, and keep your opponent in a tarpit until you do.
Vampire Lord with Red Fury/Quickblood, Sword of Bloodshed for 3 more attacks, plus Potion of Strength for Monster busting. You are getting 8 attacks, reroll to hits against most units and characters from Quickblood, extra attacks from wounds, you average 8 wounds, you are going to get more against weaker units. You don't get that in any other army on a Lvl 4 wizard.
Dark acolyte gives you D3 to the casting roll before your opponent gets to dispel, so it makes your spells harder to dispel, but it won't help you cast a spell that you have failed to cast.
@Threnodist1 yeah I was about to post this as well.. it just simply increases your score so that your opponent might have to think "hmm, might need to add an extra die to dispel this"
I was thinking Lore of the Heavens would be the best lore to take with vampires. Dropping Comet of Casandora into thow pesky warmachines will be prety boss. Iceshard blizard also helps you weather shooting as you march into combat, and some other usefull ranged attacks.
@kalzist Can't be. If it is "successfully cast," as it reads on the card, then that means it wasn't dispelled to begin with or the dispel attempt has already failed.

It sounds like its an extra D3 to the casting role to prevent it from being dispelled.

i think the meaning of dark acolyte is to increase, difficulty for the opponent to dispel your spell
