Thanks for the comments Gentleman, as for expanding our repertoire we are constantly trying to add new Music, but as im sure you know it takes time. We currently have 25 Different Pieces that we can play, all by memory, all without Music Parts.
We are not a Band as drummajor2000 has called us. We are a Corps of Drums which im sure you are aware means none of us are Musicians, we are Infantry Soldiers and in particular members of the Fire Support Platoon. Best Regards Drum Major 2PWRR
@wildcard8844 I enjoy a Corps of Drums filled by Infanteers as much as I enjoy a professional band filled with army musicians...perhaps more so as the corps of drums is doing two jobs, and if your fire support platoon is as efficient as the corps of drums is, 2PWRR is well served. I wish we had corps of drums here in the Canadian Army. Never saw any when I served.
Thanks, Will, I still have a last video to upload. It was a fruitful visit to Windsor this time.
Concerning the music corps I must add that I had to edit the video to squeeze it inside the Youtube limitations and because not all the images were good enough for uploading, but they played about four or five different marches. Besides, as far as I know they are not professional musicians and play by memory, without music card, which makes their effort even more admirable.
Hello Mark are you putting windsorsoldiers out of business?
Good to see you are uploading again. Keep it up.
Regarding the remarks on the two pieces the band is playing.
I have heard a lot of renowned five bands playing their pieces and it sounded like they were slaying a cat. The two pieces this band are played very well. I should say keep it up and gradually build up you repertoire.
If you look at videos of the Corps of Drums when they first went on Public Duties a few months I think you'll find they've actually expanded their repertoire in the intervening months. At first they seemed to be restricted to Soldiers of the Queen
and The Farmers Boy, that combination being their regimental quick march.
Nice to see a decent sized Corps of Drums...I agree with emptyangel that maybe an extended repertoire would be good but I would say its better to play a few pieces well than lots of pieces badly.
Fabulous and inspiring what a corps to follow into battle !

This is a great Corp of Drums, I would of given my back teeth to have this many flute players. They must be well supported by the Bn, Adjt and CO.
Well played I would of Marched the Gurads to all yhe way back to camp with Farmers Boy/SOTQ

It always seems to me like they're playing the same stuff all the time, it all sounds the same when they play? Not just here.
