Guatemalan joke: "Como se llama Mormones? Huevitos, porque siempre andan dos, blancos, y uno mas grande grande y uno mas chiquito." (It may be you have to see the missionaries walking around your neighborhood to get this but it cracks up Latin Americans.)
There are some messed up people in this world and that is evident by the postings some people have put up here. This is a great video, real cute in fact seeing the little ducklings get outta the drain. Awesome stuff. It's sad losers post negative thoughts. Well we know who has mental issues :)
@misterclownface My apologies, I really wasn't filming and posting this to get any sort of recognition for myself or the LDS Church. (My name has remained anonymous). I have never had the chance to be close to little ducklings like this before and thought it was a neat experience. I thought if anything, maybe people who watched might feel uplifted seeing these little ducklings run back to their distressed mother.
@dbyankee27 Fine...but then why was the therefore superfluous info put in the title? Prove your assertion by editing out, if you would, the first 2 words, please.
@strandwolf I made a change to the title. Leaving in "missionaries" doesn't specify any particular denomination and changing the title doesn't change who I am. If at any point you had a negative encounter with other people of my faith, then I apologize. We are taught to show kindness (with no reward or recognition expected in return) and have charity for others (which we believe to be the pure love of Christ). I hope you enjoy the video regardless of your opinion of the LDS faith.
@dbyankee27 Sorry to have pressured you. Your title was harmless enough, & I know that your religion is denigrated by a contingent of outsiders, sometimes unfairly. I have met and even traveled with LDS members and had a great time. Nice folks they were, as far as I could tell. Not to open the proverbial can of worms, but I am an atheist. I find it mindboggling, the weird beliefs I've heard about. Do you believe that every decent male Mormon upon death inherits his own galaxy? haha.
@strandwolf His own galaxy? I wouldn't say that. I'll touch on this lightly so as to avoid discussing a subject that we may not fully understand. We believe in Eternal life. We believe in I loving Creator, a Heavenly Father. We believe Him to be the creator of this Universe and all things in it. Just as any loving father would want his children to experience the same joy and happiness that he has, We believe our Heavenly Father wants the same for us. Hope that answers your question.
@strandwolf I am not dodging your question. My answer may be seemingly vague but the whole idea of getting our own galaxy seems too assumptive. I don't believe there is a galaxy out there with my name on it, but I do believe that God (who I believe to the the Eternal Father) loves ALL of His children beyond our worldly comprehension.
I never really understood why some people are so quick to judge another.. Or group of people in this case. You certainly don't know me, you don't know my sins, and you haven't bothered to ask if I have faith in Jesus Christ and accept Him as my Savior. I DO! I am not perfect. I am no better than you. Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world which includes me and you. Let's just analyze our own lives and try to be better than the day before, and leave the rest up to OUR Savior and his Grace.
@thoughtvoyage Yeah I don't think so. We were in the right place at the right time... isn't that how God works? He blesses us with opportunities to help others when they are in despair... even if they are only helpless animals?
that was so cute. your heart is warm. i mean how many people was stopped and helped these little birds. these young elders helping and saving these little babys and they mother thanks the elders her own language like this kwaak kwaak. good job and god bless you both. love you because what you did. liza 9374
Our world needs more of your kind :) Nowadays people are just harming and abusing animals then loving them !! I hope more animals could get saved now I adopted 1 dog 3 days ago and now I have in total, 2 dogs 3 birds 2 horse and a turtle I love them all :)
Now this is truly what makes one happy to be a LDS follower. Seeing the great works of the Missionaries at hand when rescuing poor helpless ducklings and not getting caught in door windows.... No offence Elder Stucki.... Where ever you are.
Hey I served in the Wellington mission! Christchurch was the best year of my mish! But you know how I know that's not NZ? It's sunny! NZ was always gray and raining! JK :) good work eldaz
Yeah there was no doubt that she was stressed that we were there. I felt bad because I figured she thought we were going to harm her ducklings which is why I took it kind of slow. I'm glad we were able to help them out of the drain... That was one of my last couple days in New Zealand after I had been there for nearly two years... Now its been almost 5 years since I was there... This was one of many very memorable and cherished moments I had in Aotearoa. Such an amazing place!
wow 11 babie ducks usually dont see a mother with that many babies she must of been really stressed and probly even more stressed with you guys there but in the end she was a happy momma
Your God bless you, kind hearted LDS missionaries. It's sad that storm drains are not duck-proof. Maybe someone can seriously lobby the government to find a solution for this.
This was a wonderful, kind thing for these young men to do. Kudos, guys!

How humble of these Mormons.
They have to film the rescue and post it on youtube for anyone to see.
A typical religious person, they need to receive some kind of recognition when they help someone.
I have been in a similar situation before, but i didn't bother filming it.
