Hey mate
In this video I am actually using a Vicon motion capture system for tracking. You can see the marker sets on the box and car during the video. Essentially, the Vicon software does all the processing and gives me back position and orientation of the objects.
However, there is no reason the software couldn't be used with other trackers, such as a polhemus or something like AR Toolkit.
