Suikoden II is, without a doubt, the best game in the Suikoden series. It really had it all, great characters, cool activities to do (like getting things for your castle, watching entertainment in your castle's tavern, minigames, a great fishing game, card games, secret characters to find), and an epic story with one of the best villains in rpg history in Luca Blight.

I still laugh wickedly everytime I watch the "Die, pig!" scene---even though it was pretty brutal if you think about it..

suikoden 1 and 2 is the best.. because you can load your data on suikoden 2 and some secret character shows up.. hell yeah it's that cool and the ending of this frickin game was so awesome but i didn't get all 108 stars so yeah my ending was bad with nanami killed and joeys death too..

Suikoden 2 is my all time favorite game. Great job on collecting everyone! The toughest times I had were finding bathing scene combinations (not trying to sound like a weirdo, just 100%-ing and stuff), and the damn whack a mole game. lol Again, kudos!

..In order to recruit MCDOHL..

1. You must finish the SUIKODEN 1 and save it.

2. Play the SUIKODEN 2 then load the Suikoden 1 they ask you if you want load it.. then load it!

3. After you defeat luca blight go to BANNER VILLAGE.. talk to girl name ellie.

Having Mcdolh in your group is overpower. His defense and magic defense is high, his attack rival S2 hero, his tech is high, his magic is crazy high, his hp is par with S2 hero, he is no slouch in speed and his personal rune is really powerful.

Also about the special event, if you ever unlock the hero's power Forgiver sign, after defeating the boss, you will notice you didn't gain EXP. you will go for another round but this time, the hero and Mcdohl will not be controllable but will defeat the poison moth becaus they both will use their lvl 4 power, thn that's the time they will gain exp.

Even with Kasumi you still need a fairly large castle. Normally Sasuke/Mondo are like among the last 10 characters you get (if you chose Valeria) but if you chose Kasumi you can get them a little earlier. I am not sure exactly how many you need but it shouldn't be many more than what you have

If you didn't save Gremio in 1 then I think the girl is the one blocking the path instead of him. I am not 100% on that cause all of my Suikoden1 loads have been with Gremio saved

Both games have separated endings. so you don't need the data from Suikoden 1.

Just get all the stars in Suikoden 2 and you'll be able to see the best endings.

I see, you don't have any double beat. you can get it on the cut rabbits on the north sparrow pass and the white tigers in the wastelands near muse. TRICK: give luc a warrior rune (which you can get on the "rare finds" in the rune shop in two river) and a double beat and he hits higher than before. NOTE:luc should be in front. this trick also works on any character with two rune spaces.

Actually, if you lose to the worm, there's a very special cutscene... Too bad you attacked it all the way. And I believe this is the only enemy to incorporate 3D animation (the wings) huh??

Your castle must be level 4, then just go through the cave of wind again, he is at the end ( where you fight the sword )

I agree the only Rune that i really call CURSED.

out all the main characters runes his is just wrong.Kills enemys and close friends alike without him doing anything. He cant even get a girlfriend with out one day come to claim her life. Then he cant die of age so yeah...

The Soul Eater doesn't "Kill" anyone by itself. it simply absorbs the souls of al people that were close to the bearer when they died. The Rune of Punishment is the worts of them all. It kills its bearer in a short time after aquiring it.

Yeah, but I'm asking, is the good ending the one where the Hero doesn't take the rune from Jowy who is dieing, and the 2 runes become the Rune of Beginning and it heals Jowy, then Shu appears telling the Hero that Nanami is alive? That's what I'm asking.

Also, to sawakadin, the magic for the Shield rune doesn't have to be gained from a monster. You can gain it through leveling like I did. It's supposed to heal around 1500 to 3000 and deals damage to enemies with un-needed health.

That's the 4th magic of the Shining Shield rune, and it can be learned by leveling up.

Of course McDohl (Tir) would leave. Reason is that he lost a lot of people in the war. So after the war, the castle must have bring back too many horrible memories for him.

no you dont need clives quest for the best ending, you just need to ahve all 108 stars before you invade Matilda. You dont need that S1 data either.
