  • Hey DougieJones, GREAT MIX - I have the same setup but having problems with getting ableton effects run through the 4D, up to now, ive had 3 audio tracks on each side of the 4D, 3 A tracks running to 1/2, and 3 B tracks running to 3/4...I have had to use the fourth fader on each side for an fx send volume, but its not really a solution as you can still hear the track without the effect in the background. How do you get route ableton effects on the 4D? HELP PLEASE!!!

  • @seangoldcamp Hey mate, thanks for the comment! Glad that you enjoyed it! Sounds like you're suffering from quite a complex problem with the 4D though to be honest - what Ableton effects are you trying to use?

  • I want to see this video upside down!

  • @cparker87 Hi mate, my UV light is in storage at the moment unfortunately but once I get it back I'll try to remember to record another video the other way round for you. It might be some time before I get hold of it again though unfortunately!

  • I bet he will never be happy. He will be modifying that shit until his

machine burns out. Can't get it right or what? hah The thing is is the human brain gets tired of the same shit over and over again, so by constantly modifying the settings it keeps the listener intrigued. Then again if you just put more dynamics into the beat itself, the beat itself would keep you more intrigued.

  • @screamindemon6x I can see your point mate however there's nothing wrong about searching for perfection even if it does take a lot of time. I do agree though that it's important to keep things fresh so that people remain intrigued. When it comes to making records from scratch this can be done by spending time making interesting beats/sounds and with regard to DJ-ing it can be achieved by keeping up to date with new releases.

  • 10/10 for the camera work on this video!

  • @TastyMuffinable Haha! Well you would say that ;-)

  • Great job mate and nice mixer..setup! you had me rushing a little. ;)

I`m gonna grab me one of those 4d`s soon.

Great style, Thanks for the video!

  • @beercap007 Thanks mate - glad that you enjoyed it!

  • how can u work in the dark?

  • It's just like playing in a really dark club to be honest - the UV lights on the 4D do help though! Cheers.

  • there r lights on the mixer?

  • No mate - its just a type of paint that glows under UV light.

  • no i mean the signal lights.

  • UV LIGHT :|?

  • Sick mix! Well done sir. Considering the 4D myself... Have Xone92, TSP, CDJ1000's and may just get the 1D as the midi controller... Do you travel with it to gigs/ clubs to play?

  • Thanks mate! And yeah I do use it in clubs, its really easy to get it all set up and I've got a proper carry case for it too. If you've already got the 92 though then all you should need is the 1D or 2D I'd say.

  • Dougie, where did you buy the case for it?

i just bought a 4D and need the case for protection and for carry around!

  • I can't remember the name of the retailer to be honest mate. The 4D is exactly the same dimensions as the 3D though so I'd just shop around and see the best price you can get... I reckon that you could get a decent one for £80-£100 as that was around what I paid.

    Hope this helps.

  • love these synthi sounds. is it a creation of your own. if it´s not please tell me track name

    greetz lenka

  • Hi Lenka,

The track is by E.Lesovsky and its called ACAB. Hope this helps!

    Cheers

  • bastard eheheh i want a Allen and Heath Xone-4D! u a lucky guy!! Great tune !!! Peace Azores,Portugal!

  • Haha! Thanks - glad that you enjoyed the video!

  • hey great vid, some nice sounds there, great mix

  • Thanks mate - glad you enjoyed it. More vids to come soon!

  • that mixer is awesome. i have the 3d and the djm 600. but i havent used the 4d yet, how much did it cost you , and is there anything in addition in with the mixer eg new effects unit , features ect.. ?

  • Thanks mate. The 4D now retails for about £1450 but I got mine ages ago so I got it for a bit cheaper than that. When it comes to comparing it to the 3D the main difference is that you can now use two control layers on the mixer effectively doubling the amount of functions you can assign to it. There are no new built in effects though or anything like that.

  • hey thats some real nice stuff you got going there, i would love to set up a studio with one of those babies in it, looks nice.

    good music btw

  • Thanks mate! Glad that you enjoyed the video and the music!

    Cheers

    Dougie

  • Really good. Surprised me

  • Yeah it did me too! Makes it very usable too.

  • are you mixing tracks there? or just applying effects? looks like only one channel is being used on the mixer section?

  • Hi mate,

I'm just applying effects at this point. The video was recorded by my bro as part of a longer set. Please check out some of my other videos to see some mixing.

    Cheers

  • I like this tune :)

    Very hypnotyc.

Can u tell me what trac it is ?

Still like to see someting more effects :):)

    Peace

  • Thanks mate! And yeah this is an awesome track - been playing it in most of my sets recently. It's stunning and always does the trick on the dancefloor too.

Its by E.Lesovsky and its called ACAB.

Will try and get something sorted with more effects for you soon. Thanks for subscribing to my videos!

  • u need to wear white raver gloves bro

  • Haha! Good point - that would finish off the look nicely ;-)
