Such branding of companies that pretend giving a social message, but in the end work for capturing people's attention and benefit for them, is actually taking away the attention from the need of the society.
And is it possible to have tele-education? How many people had taken an initiative after watching this ad of educating children from the villages in this manner?
I wonder if the Bachhans have done anything to improve education for the poor in real life. Making a dumb ad with an impractical solution to solving India's educational problems is easy...
In pakistan we generally get an idea that education is now pretty well spread in India. What is the actual situation? Politics aside, but educating around 400 million is a big task for any govt.
@asadtirmizi Enrollment rates have gone up. Almost every child goes to school. But retention rates are still very low... only a small fraction complete school. Also, the quality of teaching in rural areas sucks. Teachers are absent or drinking tea instead of teaching. India has a huge educational problem...
I thought this ad was advocating for building " A LOT OF SCHOOLS FOR ALL THE CHILDREN IN INDIA" but it was just a "BOLLYHOOD" fantasy story. Million of children are suffering, and the movie stars and businessmen are making money out of it. IT IS A SHAME.
Aaie (Mata) should be our first teacher. Only then one succeeds in life.
Teach the Bharatiyas in their own mother tongue and stop the Brown Macaulay Monkey show. It's about time when we stop being parrots and started thinking!
People who are impressed fail to realise that all this is teaching us to be better slaves of the Western world by being able to compete in the offshoring market.
Wake up and protest against these traitors of the nation. Jai Hind!

THey want to present Christianity as a progressive religion with no agendas. They want to win the natural sympathy of the people; so that when the next time the English educated elite go through a national daily which reads "Hindu-christian clashes" they will intrinsically arrive at a position which is consistently sympathetic to the poor missionaries who are subjected to violence by the Hinduvadis
Their objective is to make the elite comfortable with the idea that missionaries are here for the greater good of the country. They wanna imply they are selfless people imparting quality education to all Indians irrespective of caste.
First we need to convince ourselves, that surrogate promotion of missionaries is incorrect
Next, you have to understand the mindset of these missionaries...who are they targeting with this ad campaign? Or for that matter, why do missionaries operate so many schools catering primarily to the elite....they dont really expect to convert the viewers or the students or their parents?
can vouch for no surrogate slime here..its your interpretation.. try to step out in the real world of indian mentatlity.. we think a person is educated if he can speak in english..
everyone would like their kids to study inconvent..throughout our childhood we were forced to be well versed with english.. and sorry even you are typing the reply in english.. english came thru convent education.. govt. schools in north still teach in hindi medium.. sorry no conspircay here
What is Abhishek Bachan doing in a pardi uniform in the idea advertisement, and why are villagers being made to pray to "GOD" before eating...I can assure you they invoke much more subtle and loftier traditional Hindu prayers
We should show zero tolerance to such subversive ideas....
some brands have brilliant concept, some have brilliant execution. This one seems to have had one hell of an Idea in having both in place... Amazing stuff!
Great add! Let our adds give good morals not filth!
