I've taken phonetics classes in college and we basically studied all the sounds we use in the English language and yes, it's pretty boring compared to those of any other language. We lack many vowel sounds.
I was at this place last summer, and we had a charming Damara lady as our guide to see the "white lady". She tried to teach us the clicks. You are right, our languages are boring when you hear it!

How unfortunate these languages are written with the Roman alphabet, why not write with their own script.
