  • are those apartments on Sunset blvd?

  • i slept right through this, and woke up thinking it was my brother jumping on my bed

  • It's not an earthquake, you're just not holding your camera still.

  • I don't doubt this video at all. A mag.5.4 sounds small but will feel differently according to where you are and how far from the epicenter. In a car I've heard it feels like a flat tire. I live in CA and been through many quakes that didn't bother me. I was very near the epicenter in Chino CA this day. It was several jolts and then a lot of swaying back and forth. It scared me. Downtown Los Angeles (over 20 miles away) felt it but not as much. There's time to film. Running is not advised.

  • i swear i had a dream about this earthquake right before it happend......

  • i remember that earthquake...

  • Ignore the haters bro.

  • WE JUST HAD A EARTHQUake in los angles and it was samll nothing huge like everyones been saying

  • Is the earthquake really scary? Is it like a very sudden jolt, or does it start out small, and gradually build up? Do you start to feel the floor vibrate before the place starts shaking?

  • @Spaceshotx7 it just feels like shaking and it doesnt build up. depends on how strong, it could shake ur house or it could be so small or a after shock were u feel just a little tingling on the ground.

  • @Spaceshotx7 I was is a earthquake when I was 2 years old. My mom was brushing my teeth and she said all of a sudden there was a sudden jerking in the whole house. My mom quickly picked me up and ran down stairs when our whole front door went blasting breaking towards us. (Our front door was made of almost all glass) We were both injured and had to go to the hospital. We also lived by a forest and a tree fell just missing our house by about 10 feet. This took place in Seattle.

  • i wonder if how many earthquakes L.A had have...

  • well... some people stink.>>>

  • L0Lcopter?

  • RELAX

  • what i didnt get is that the camera didnt shake at all he was all like still shaking and the camera wasnt shaking

  • nothing even happend...he just stood there by the window and everything was normal theres like cars driving by an shit hahaha

  • Oh wow.. a man with his camera on the top of a building and he knows that there is an earth quake.,,, rly smart...

  • @TheAngelmj15 a 5.4 is nothing, no risk for the building

  • @anaheimrocker

moving to illinois would be slow painful living death.

at least an earthquake is fast.

  • yeah, i must say this guy is a dickhead. not only during an earthquake is he not under any sort of safe shelter (e.g. table) or getting out of the building, but he`s standing there filming it. AND!......... he`s dumb enough to post it on you tube thinking we`d be amused by this useless video which we cannot see/notice any activity what so ever.

  • @hrdstylr Not every earthquake in So Ca if an 8.0. Many are just small and you can safely go about your daily business.

  • There is good earthquake footage and then there's this !

  • iJustine was in the middle of it!!

  • hmm...an earthquake...quick, let's video tape right next to the window!!!!!

  • a couple of years ago here in san diego there was a minor e-quake and it was so weird after it happened i felt nauseated. i mentioned it to someone and they said that's pretty common....strange...but cool:) no prop. damage or injuries, just a good little shake.

  • so the first thing you do in the middle of a earthquake is filming with your camera?you must be smart LOL

  • @museinter yeah dumbass.....you watched it didn't ya....I must be smarter than you!

  • @davedubya thats soooooooooooooooo fake ur just shaking ur cam see im smarter than u

  • @misschatterbox123123

yeah and it was cool how he got the news channels and the scientists to go along with the joke!!

boy you sure are smart to bust this guy.

  • @davedubya exactly, if you posted the video that means your fine. if it had been a 6.0 or something that actually could cause damage then you probably would have gone out, but that looked like maybe a 4.0

  • @drewnickel It probably was a 6.0. The buildings in California can handle earthquakes like that.

  • @davedubya But him watching has nothing to do with anything, because their isn't a earthquake going on.

  • @DarkNatasX - Ok take a look at the date I posted the video.....then type in that date and Earthquake into the search bar above.....then my friend you will find 100's of videos documenting this earthquake. read the description....I don't claim that it is an awesome video, I just said I posted my experience. If the quake had been worse....i would have caught something awesome. But since it kind of rolled through, I did not catch "The Big One".

  • @DarkNatasX It's there not their you idiot. Go back to school dumbass.

  • @museinter

    so what would you do?

panic and jump out the window? it's a minor quake, what's wrong with filming it?

  • @museinter He got 259 k views.. Sounds smart to me.

  • @museinter I lived in LA for most of my life, and one quickly learns when to run, when to duck, when to stroll over to the window and when to cry out to God for mercy. In other words, I've never seen it start to rattle gently and then, several seconds to a minute later, throw out the double-whammy. It's just an earthquake, it's not a malevolent deity. It's not out to get you, it's just got some excess gas "down there" and needs to do the tectonic equivalent of ripping off a good fart.

  • must be a little tremer

  • it actually looked like u were shaking the cam but i believe u i waz over there

  • Hhahahahaha 5.4 is nothing, in my country we dont realize of an earthqueake 5.4 hahahahah I live in Chile, here is were the earth really moves. Sorry if i make a mistake my english is not that good.

    love u!

  • A 10 is like the continent is moving it would colapse cities. they are mesured on an exponential and logarithmic scale so the difference between the strength of one level and another is in powers of 10. So a 10 means you should be kissing your ass good bye

  • sorry but you should of put the camera down or something...it looks fake with you holding it

  • yeah rite, he just shakin the camera

    lol

  • I've always wanted to see footage of a quake from the air. I never have. I wonder what it would look like...say a helicopter?

  • @icekat83 I'd say there's a 99.9% chance you wouldn't see a thing unless you were either a) right near the fault, b) the quake was huge and buildings collapsed, or c) you were very close to a large building...

  • @icekat83 watch?v=Npqx3WmNkv4

  • r u retarted? who the frick films a dAM earthquake? RUN FOR UR LIFE ASSHOLE

  • @MEMST123

every rain is not a storm and every quake is not a killer.

  • yesterday there was a 5.4 in LA

i was in my room and did not feel it

    5.4 is not to big

    but still

  • It's kinda sad that we are freaking out over 5ers and 7's and Chile is torn up by 8.8, wow I feel sorry.

  • We had an Earth Quake here in Kentucky here about 5 years ago.

  • we had one today in MA

  • u r shaking ur cam... lol

  • we have an 8.8 here in chile it was horrible

  • holy shit...that white building with the black top in the distance is the la Curacao building...lol...I live around there!

you can see it around :20

  • i think its still shaking because ...... you dimwit shaking the camara >.>

  • Comment removed

  • you live around Korea town?

  • shitty ass partt of LA

  • K-town!

  • what i dont get, is if there is an earthquake going on, then why is there a car going past, if i was driving i would have stopped

  • @whyweloveit ok when people r in cars u dont feel it duh!!!!!

  • @whyweloveit Why would you stop? So the building next to you could have a head start at falling on top of you? How thoughtful!

  • @PSNgregiskool no but it would have shook me up that i certainly wouldnt keep driving plus i wouldnt think that omg i better keep driving cos that building next to me might fall on me, cmon ur thinking rationally but if u were driving and that happened would you seriosly be thinking rationally

  • @whyweloveit If I was driving, then I would probably be being chased by 2 or more cops depending on how long I've been driving and I'd be heading for the airport then I'd fly to mexico. Or I'd just kill myself or surrender.

  • @PSNgregiskool

    now that's planning ahead folks.

  • @whyweloveit cars have shock resistors man....

  • @kakapoable a) i know nothing about cars and b) i may not know anything but im sure that you would still feel it, and if you didnt you would see everything moving and c) for god sake this was 3 months ago that we started this argument get over it you loser

  • @whyweloveit I was in a 7.1 eathquake just weeks ago, and i experienced some of the aftershocks in a car and felt nothing.

This was also a small earthquake in this video.

  • @whyweloveit

nope you don't feel it unless it is a strong quake. happened to me and my ex....driving along til we hear the dj on the radion nearly losing his mind.

we din't feel anything....kind of pissed us off.

  • fuk u thats in tv

  • I am still an Earthquake Virgin.

  • @DjKDM7000 i popped my earthquake cherry this morning at 1:16. a 5.8 was registered in puerto rico

  • it the big one is goint to happen in a million years, who gives shit.

  • @robiking011

well there may be a really big one a million years from now but "the big one" as far as southern cal is concerned could happen tomorrow--or heck, later today:)

    it's overdue.

  • why would you be near a window when there is a quake?

  • the quake was nowhere near 55 seconds, LOL

it was at most like 15 seconds long, at most though, lol

  • I was dead sleep when this happened. Woke up to my glass tabletops shaking like mad and my neighbors yelling "FUCK YEAH!" out the window. That was....an experience.

  • i used to live in the building your at.... i recognize the place.... i was there 12 years ago lol

    8th and hobart>???

  • @SG3089 Yeah thats the one!

  • @davedubya LOL i knew it.. freaking awesome ... a single APT. used to be 300 dollars in that place... im betting its way over that now lol

  • @davedubya Amazing conversation there...

  • @SG3089 wow... small world!

  • @RmaVideoStudios i know right!!! haha

  • get ready for the big ass one

  • dud did that happen before yu take it shit or after./!

  • @Oscar847. good one!! that reminds me of my cousin.

  • @Oscar847 obviously you don't live in california or otherwise you would KNOW to stay put during an earthquake. people have died trying to "get the fuck outta there".

  • This earthquake wasn't shit. And do you live in the Fairfax/Miracle Mile area by any chance? Looks familiar.

  • 5th floor of a 100 unit apartment building.....i would like to see your dumbass sprinting down the stairs to get out. When an earthquake hits you dont have much time to react, i decided to video my experience...

  • @davedubya we had a earthquake yesterday in toronto and shit i didnt know wat to do....my heart was beating FAST.shit that was scary.

  • @certifiedtamil224 well id suggest u learn and research wat to do because if a big one comes its gonna be the end for u

  • @MURRxOEx951 lol i did my research and it says to go under a table and if theres signs that the building is gunna fall u have to run out.

  • @davedubya christchurch new zealand - whr i am - we had a 7.4 on september 4th scary as shit lol never experienced one before lol lots of buildings got destroyed and needing to be demolished.

  • @davedubya Exactly! You would've been halfway down when the earthquake finished anyway!

  • @davedubya It's better than updating your Facebook. Video documentation is the best.

  • @davedubya

with my experience, i'm sitting at the computer, stuff starts rattling and shaking back and forth and then it's over.

i'm like "Huh? was that an earthquake?"

didn't have time to get freaked out and panic.

course i'm not one to freak out and panic anyway.

  • Wow. This happened on my birthday.

  • that could prob suck.........if my friend knew u and was saying happy-bday 2 u... she would scream and run out the door

  • all we get is tornado's

  • @ireland206

when i moved to cali from kentucky some ppl i knew were like omg! aren't you worried about earthquakes.

kentucky has very hot weather in the summer that can kill you, ice storms, snow storms, floods, severe storms in the spring, summer fall and winter and of course tornados.

oh and there was an earthquake there in the early 80s.

  • I lived in Mexicali B.C ( The Baja Mexico ) and let me tell you something, we have a Geothermic plant - or whatever you wanna name it, and let me tell you in feb of 2008 we had around 300 earthquakes in less than 2 weeks, now THATS some scary shit...

  • jajaaj si wee no mames asta aca se sienten los pinchis temblores (vivo en tecate)

    Saludos!

  • I remember that. No one went to school for a couple of days that week

  • God bless, earthquakes arent going anywhere. It is all about location, yours and its..stay safe.

  • we just had a 6.5 in northern cali. it was so scary

  • yeah i heard hope ur ok

  • Today there was an earthquake and on thursday! lol

  • Here in florida, we have no earthquakes, we get wet, by hurricanes, tropical storms and possibly sometimes torandoes. Not the prettiest sight.

  • @starfalco97

    don't forget alligators.

  • lol i felt this in my hotel room i fail off my bed i was sleeping

  • 2-3 days ago we had a 5.9 here in south ca

  • a Magnitude of 5.4 is very high and yet i don't notice anything!

  • I think its had to really see anything, because of the steady-cam feature in the camera, but believe me, the 6 story building I was in was swaying back and forth like a block of jello on a plate. I felt it and just turned on the camera, I missed the first big jolt, but you acn hear the windows rattleing...it is what it is

  • if it was a 5.4, you would see a bigger difference :D

  • this earthquake's epicenter was in chino hills, and i live only 1.5 miles from it.... it knocked me out of my chair at my computer desk and shook the house like hell, dropping things on top of me.... worst eartthquake since Northridge in 94

  • Does anyone remember the Earthquake in Illinois last year? It was real minor, and so I kinda wanted to be in it..... but of course I was in Florida.

  • o yes lol i felt it in kentucky.

  • This earthquake in inglewood fckin woke me up. lol

  • So is your life.

  • i live in new jersey, so no earthquakes. but i do want to experience one!

  • They are really scary!

  • no theyre not

  • @Nathansgirl1989

it happens quickly and is over quickly by the time you realize it's a quake it's over.

    for small quakes of course.

  • Funny thing is, I've been to L.A. and San Diego and never experienced an earthquake yet. I did experience one in NY in 1985, which as I understand came from Ardsley NY.

  • @johnnyxsi

i've lived in san di for almost 4 yrs and have only felt one (maybe 2) small ones.

on the maps there are many but most of them are not even felt.

a p.s. to that tho is that sometimes i could swear i feel a little shake but it's so short and so small i don't even bother to check the net to see if some seismic activity occured at that time.

i feel/hear sometime a deep deep whump...i'm more inclinded to think it's the military instead of e-quakes.

  • theyre accually kinda fun!!!!!

  • same! and i live in london! lool

  • my aunt lives there!!!! she Lives ther!!! not in that apartment but in that building. the maneger is mean!!!!

  • imagine if you were on the toilet and taking a shit when a 10.0 earthquake comes and theres crap flying all over the house

  • hahahahahahaa lmfao man

  • hahahahahahahahaha that would be soooooo hilarious"ohh shit theres shit everywher" , he survives and gets to be on a talk show. "so wat was it like??"

"it was shit and there was shit everywhere and i was livin in a shit house"!!!! ohh that would be epic

  • ya exactly XD

  • @virajisnotfat Rofl thats a lovely way to put it ._.

  • @virajisnotfat you copied jeff dunham...

  • @who8mahbacon so..... :P i know i did >.>

  • @virajisnotfat I doubt you'd survive to tell the story. And I'm pretty sure there's never ever been a mag 10.0. We had a 7.1 not long ago and that was big enough for us!

  • @virajisnotfat that's from Jeff Dunham and Walter!

  • @virajisnotfat HAHAHAHA

  • @virajisnotfat

you made the 8 year old in me laugh.

  • @virajisnotfat

    har de har.

if a 10 quake hit you'd so some be ground into dust along with your toilet, apartment building, you, your friends/co-workers and your poop that you'd hopefully not have too long to suffer.

there has probably been such a quake but not during the times humans have been measuring such events.

ha ha your house and your crap and your potty would soon be one with the universe.

  • I think there will be big earthquakes in the eastern United States from the New Madrid fault line that hasn't went off since 1811 and 1812. Aftershocks were reported up to 1818 and they were registered between a magnitude of a 5.9 to a 8.1.

  • and i eat 10.0 earthquakes for breakfast

  • @NiTr091

    big deal.

my grand ma kills them and cooks them up with delicious southern style gravy milk shakes.

  • a 7.0 is supposed to come today im scerd

  • seriously

  • i felt it and i just finishd eating so i threw up lol

  • my ass. uk u

  • @FLOWFAIRY

isn't it weird that quakes make you feel nauseus?

  • wow this was last year on my b-day and i don't remember a damn earthquake on this day.

  • @weezel21

must have been a great party:)

  • HOHHOO...There hasn't been a decent earthquake in California for ages. I blame San Andreas, it's his fault.

  • HAHAH There was one two days ago and haven't you heard about the San Fran one supposed to happen that defiantly going to kill some people.

  • @WaffleandBanana

ha ha people are going to die:)

what the fuck is the matter with you man?

  • @mearsehole

I can show you an earthquake just get in my bed

  • @Drazhenko lol

  • @Drazhenko

when i eat burritos i have and earthquake the next morning.

  • @Drazhenko hahahahahahahahaha ur disgusting

  • @georgeh1231

    you like that baby

  • @mearsehole Which means that there is going to be a HUGE one because the pressure builds up! I'm moving out of CA in January so I hope it doesn't hit before then.

  • @mearsehole

    lazy bastard.

  • how often do you guys have earth quakes?

  • every sinlgle day....over hundreds every day....most u dont feel....but they are quite freaky when ther is a good sized one haha

  • like today!

  • haha yeah that was awesome!!

  • earthquakes happen all over the world, not only LA, so nowhere is safe, even little ones, the plates are always moving, specially even when your sleeping there are earthquakes.

  • my first earthquake was in october last year :P

I was in San Jose that time so it was intense XD

  • i live in england my First eathquake-and i woke up just as it ended.lol.missed my first earthquake-every 1 wa talking about it at skwl and i was asleep-it wasn't very big where we were-it was like a 10 sec shake other ppls had like roofs fall in and stuff soo i was lucky =]

  • im not trying to be rude but i thought you should know because we can expect the big one soon..... during an earth quake we are safer.... AWAY from windows not sticking cameras out them! haha ya but i still thought the vid. was cool! :D

  • dude y r u still in ur chair u should get the hell out of the building and L A im in the middle east and we get no earthquakes at all

  • i was so freaked out in this earthquake it was my first one and i was in summer school :P

i was technically glued to my chair i was like CRAPPPP!!!! but i liked it after it ended their interesting :)

  • @hermione12 Haha:) I was At Home Listening To Music When This Happened! :D They're very Interesting :DD I think It Was My First Earthquake Here In SoCal :)

  • I'll be honest, quakes scare the crap outta me, but I'm really interested in them too! In the end, you can't run from mother nature, if a Earthquake on the west coast doesn't get you, what's to say a tornado gets you in the middle of the country or a hurricane on the east coast. If it's gonna get you, it will. Move it and don't live in fear, take everything a day at a time and live life to the fullest!

  • @SimbaNalaKiara

it's not rational to be in fear of earthquakes.

if it is just fear for safety then ppl would be scared to death to get into a car.
