PhD scientists who make incredibly pompous and laughably stupid mistakes; then refuse to admit they were wrong when shown how stupid their mistake was, THEN act like total DOUCHES to the person whom they should be THANKING for showing them their stupid mistake, DO deserve public humiliation, and they deserve it in spades. Not being able to admit you're wrong when you're a PhD physicist is a near guarantor of being a shit scientist.
