  • Arcade Fire > Everyone else.

  • oh ..it would have been excelent if there wasn't any voice for this song

  • oh how i want to be a child again. thank you arcade fire, and happy new year!

  • First song of 2012 :)

  • @ballcapmusicbox wonderful choice

  • I recently went to a local, mom and pop, record store. The place was absolutely isolated from anything else, and there was hardly a customer. I went just to waste some time, and you cannot imagine my joy at finding this record way in the corner of the small store. Man, it was like I found a treasure (which I pretty much did). Nothing else exciting happened that day.... It was a fucking AWESOME day!!!

  • Fucking amazing song. My favorite song in Funeral, and probably my favorite song in their whole catalogue. Thats quite a feat when you consider the fact that they wrote songs like Windowsill, Rebellion, Keep the car running, Intervention, and Ready to Start. Also Rococo is amazing..... I LOVE THIS BAND!!!!

  • The Hunger Games sent me here XD

  • @Anchored4 Wait is this going to be in Hunger Games?!?!

  • @JoinedJust2Comment Not this particular song....but they will be writing and performing one for the movie soundtrack :)

  • i remember when i was 5 and my mom and i were driving around and we sang this song at the top of our lungs....now im 13 and this song brings back memorys. especially the beginning. :)

  • youtube is pissing me off right now lol.

  • Reminds me of Twin Peaks.

  • @Polonium96 Here am I

    Yet another goodbye!

    He says Adiós, says Adiós,

    And do you know why

She won't break down and cry?

She says Adiós, says Adiós, Goodbye.

One by one my leaves fall.

One by one my tales are told.

  • It was Obviously Jesus that sent me here.

  • @Paperwings42 Amen, I just hope your NOT Judas! Enjoy. Jessus walked on water, but Arcade Fire mad him WAKE UP!

  • @Paperwings42 u sure it wasn't really tebow?

  • Wow, was I really #666 to "like" this song? I'm evvvvil...;p

  • I am so glad that Arcade Fire music keeps me going everyday...They are an inspiration and light! Their songs are catchy with different elements in their musical style while the lyrics are meaningful! How can you top that? Go Arcade Fire! I will support these guys for a long long time~!

  • I can't decide whethere this, Kid A or Lift Yr. Skinny Fists is the best album of the last decade. They're all incredible to me.

  • @50Dashes Great choices of albums. I actually think I like In Rainbows more than Kid A, but I cant really choose between them. God bless Radiohead and Arcade Fire!

  • @50Dashes Is This It is pretty amazing too.

  • A present for....

  • This song will forever remind of being a teenager. When I'm older if I want to relive the past, I'll just go to this song.

  • "God, life sucks, it's so boring and dull, full of depression and sadness...."

    *Listens to Funeral*

    Life is Beautiful!

  • How can anyone listen to this song and still say Arcade Fire is overrated?

  • whisky + arcade fire = a tear

    .. why ?!

    may be ..

when you are front a masterpiece ... you can just cry

    I hangover

  • The second I hear those twinkling piano notes at the beginning, I already have goosebumps.

  • @naseoj Same.

  • this song is absolutely incredible. it's one of my favorites off the album.

  • ive been listening to arcade fire for like, 2 1/2 years now, and ive always enjoyed their music. but for them to JUST NOW be getting alot of recognition and a page in Rolling Stone is ridiculous, cus theyre so amazing, and always have been.

  • @wbe6 they have been in rolling stone before

  • I feel like they are the successors to Radiohead, even if radiohead is still pretty much alive.

  • @TheEloubou yeah, if you mean in terms of kick royal ass, then yes i agree with you, other than that they aren't very similar really

  • @TheEloubou yeah, if you mean in terms of kicking royal ass, then yes i agree with you, other than that they aren't very similar really

  • So beautiful

  • Since when did the Pixies start calling themselves 'Arcade Fire'?

  • bought all there albums and travelled to london from birmingham to watch them on my own! dedicated fan!

i was not on my own when i was there cos when your at the front with everyone your all as one, just a moment i will never forget, thankyou arcade fire, and thankyou to the fans for been so nice!

  • cos of arcade fire i have discovered into the wild soundtrack, beautiful, also wolf parade(expo 86) is a grower, the shout out louds!

  • Epic is a good word for most of arcade fire's songs!

  • i love so many bands but i'm finding it hard to go back to them after discovering arcade fire, there melody's and emotion are just like drugs to me! love them no matter how much anyone say's!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i saw Arcade Fire at the men three days ago, they put on such a great show and this song was beautiful. Our generation does not give Arcade fire enough praise at all.

  • our generation has too many idiots who only care about listening to lyrics about shooting people, having the biggest cars, the most bling and getting some bitches, basically lyrics about nothing, just empty! they dont have the brain cells that can feel true emotion and melody!

  • @coooooolio666 ^white people

but this song is fucking amazing

    Arcade Fire is too

  • @coooooolio666 too true

  • This is amazing.

  • ♫ You'll change all lead

    sleepin' in my head

and as the day grows dim

I'll hear you sing a golden hymn ♫

  • This is a song about death and rebirth. The snow covers up the neighborhood, giving us a blank slate to paint our lives upon. The old have all died off, so the young can build a future in accordance with their own needs, not the tired whispers of a generation that already had their day. PURIFY the colors...purify the mind. Its not just a romantic song, it captures youth rebellion in a nutshell.

  • Excelente canción. Arcade Fire es de lo mejor de los 2000s, y ahora en 2010s tambien hay muy buenos grupos! Siempre hay muy buena musica en todas las epocas :D! La musica es lo mejor!

  • did you know that this song is on daniel radcliffe's ipod? i did. (:

  • @LittleMissHannah2 did you know that this song is one of the greatest of the past decade whether or not it's on a fucking wizard's ipod

  • @cones2005

    Yup, just you.

  • The first time I ever listened to this album I was high as hell. I must say...I felt as though I had shook hands with God.

  • this song is just amazing ! *.*

  • This song seriously goes with any mood, when I'm happy I listen to this and it makes me happier. When I'm angry I listen to this and it calms me down. When I'm sad I listen to this and it speaks to me. Perfect song

  • WINDODEO

  • This band would not be here without David Bowie! Powerful song tho!!

  • This song is godsent.

  • thank God for music like this. i'ts like breathing clean air after hours of being in a crowded classroom in the morning that reeks of morning breath and BO.

  • @strayd0gg Dude, I am right there with ya.

  • @strayd0gg That could be the oddest comparison I've ever heard.

  • @strayd0gg Thank the artists not "god".

  • I will never get sick of this song.

  • At 4:28 i got finally an orgasm

  • Can't hear any of the vocals...

  • You'll love this song if you have an ear and a heart.

  • @TheMousetalon What's a heart?

  • @TheMousetalon Than this song is not for van gogh or hitler

  • @TheMousetalon what if I have 2 ears?

  • @psych0p4t3 lucky you!!

  • @psych0p4t3 sarcastic son of a bitch

  • @gufreter Don't get your knickers in a knot.

  • @TheMousetalon I have an ear and a heart but nothing else

  • This is an album that everyone should listen to before they die.

  • "Purify the colours, Purify my mind. & spread the ashes of the colours...over this heart of mine". Absolutely incredible. Love this soooo much : )

  • I hear this song and I melt. End of story. Powerful and beautiful.

  • I just found them and I'm in LOVE. If you like them and bands like them you should listen to erland and the carnival- spring time. I find that they are amazing just like this band.

  • This is the only AF song whose studio recording I prefer over a live performance. The recording is literally perfect. It is a perfect song. My favourite song of all time.

  • Words can't even describe how good this song is.

  • this is just fucking epic....

  • I like Arcade Fire, but I'm not sure I enjoy them, can't listen to them without feeling depressed or spooked

  • Pure joy....

  • I may or may not be listening to this song for the 12th time in a row. >.>

  • this song gives me chills

    they are incredible

  • There is something about this song that just fills me with ecstasy. Auditory Aphrodisiac.

  • "You change all the lead

sleeping in my head to gold"

What an incredibly beautiful thing to say about someone.

  • @frankywdmn This song is kind of like.... the ultimate love song in my book.

  • Best band in the world.

  • I LOVE YOU ARCADE FIRE!!!!;D

  • These sound a lot like The Antlers. Awesome! :)

  • 6 people couldn't find a shovel

  • went 2 watch them live in cardiff but had a few 2 many before and fell asleep through the whole concert. gutted

  • @renton1983bish That SUCKS.

  • genius that they always manage to hit the right chord change to suit the feeling they convey in every song

  • Arcade Fire taught me how to love.

  • @Oxydox wtf

  • amazing song - with the best opening to a song in many a year - HAUNTING too - pity he goes to such a hi register - should sing it all down low

  • This is my favorite song by them. I'm a hopeless romantic, and I can't help but listen to this song and imagine this scenario with the girl who introduced me to them. And I want to be a good sing and play this song for her, and I want us to fall in love, and leave everything behind, except each other, even though it would be sad, haha. Oh well.

  • @unkommon2001 Awwwwwwwwww.

  • if this was never made i would have never lived

  • @Heytheresky10 what were you conceived to this or something

  • @Heytheresky10 @musethemusclemuseum

Guess your parents were big fans. P

  • You change all the lead

    sleepin' in my head

  • For days I've felt numb. Right now I'm in graduate school taking test after test. Listening to this made me feel alive for the first time in a while.

  • @orsaandy1 I understand.. love this band and got see them live 1 week ago and they were amazing.. they are amazing!

  • @DEVILSREJECT000 Saw them this past Friday at Jazz Fest! One of the best shows I've been to; they had the whole crowd going and they were just plain awesome

  • @orsaandy1 thats disturbing, you need help

  • @kingdavidtrialruns uhm, what? how was what he/she said disturbing?

  • @LloveLlamaLlauren That he/she doesn't feel alive or feels numb; thats usually a sign of clinical depression.

  • My favorite song on my favorite album of arcade fiiire!

  • britany murphy seems alison stokke...

  • Thank you SO much for making this playlist! Now I can listen to Funeral on repeat all night long at work! What could be better? :)

  • Yeah Radiohead is good, Arcade Fire is AMAZING. However, now album will ever touch OK Computer.

  • I can't decide whether to get this album or The Suburbs... I can only afford one, and it's such a tough choice!

  • @106willgetme They're different albums. The suburbs is a lot poppyer. This ones more alt-rock awesomeness. I prefer Funeral (maybe my favorite album ever), but it depends on what you're looking for.

  • @106willgetme That is a very tough choice. The Suburbs is more of a complete album experience, it's more subtle, more eccentric i'd say. Funeral is just a masterpiece in terms of great catchy song-writing...when in doubt, listen to everything on Youtube ;-)

  • @106willgetme I would reccommend getting this album first as i personally think it is easier to get into and a better starting point if you want to get into arcade fire, it was also the first album of theirs that i got about 2 years ago and when the new album came out i got the new album and neon bible together and now they are one of my favourite bands. But i'd recommend this one first then get the suburbs once u earn more cash. i will warn you though the suburbs is more of a grower.

  • amaaaaaaaaaazing song :D

  • Orgasm for the ears.

  • Some of my favorite song lyrics ever.

  • This is the most underrated Arcade Fire song.

  • @charlydase

It's actually my favorite of this FANTASTIC band.

  • @charlydase I thought this was one of their most well known.

  • is it just me that cant hear half the words that this guy sings?

  • @cones2005 Added the lyrics in description for you!

  • @supperelias wow thnx man :)

  • @cones2005

It's like that with like 90% of indie rock bands.

  • @cones2005 Looks like it's just you man. Clean your shit ears out.

  • @brom16 cleaned em out u little shit, ul notice 8 thumbs up regarding my comment

  • @cones2005

    It's not just you...

  • @cones2005

You don't need to hear the words to know that the music is good

  • @cones2005 I hope you write this on rnb and rap songs too...

  • @EzPz8 ye if i cnt hear the words

  • @cones2005 you should try listening to Animal Collective lol

  • dammit, I've always hated indie rock (more of a 60's psychedelic guy), but this is pretty fucking amazing

  • I love Arcade Fire, but I am not some Hipster asshole who thinks NMH is the greatest thing ever.

And I feel damn good about that.

  • @MassHero Well, it's not that hipster anymore to like Arcade Fire. They just won Album of the Year! Very happy about that BTW, but I hope that don't mean hipsters all of a sudden abandon this band and label them sellouts.

  • @MassHero whats nmh

  • @rightattheunicorn

Nigga munching hoe. No, I'm just kidding I have no idea.

  • I love Arcade Fire. I love Neutral Milk Hotel. You guys should check out The Decemberists and perhaps Murder By Death.

  • @KatherinaW all great recommendations

  • I want to like this song, since it's mostly amazing, but I can't stand the vocals. :/

  • @NatTheWriter say

    uhhhh?

    ehhh?

    ihhh?

    ohh

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

    YEAH! fuck

  • @NatTheWriter What? Really? I think the vocals are great! really makes the song.

  • I literally listen to nothing like this ever, and i've completely fallen inlove with it within days. Nothing has ever struck me so much. For the first time i can't wait till i get home from work so i can listen to this album all night.

  • Arcade Fire

    Radiohead

    Florence and the Machine

    Coldplay

    The Doors

  • No, not yet. Neutral Milk Hotel Modest Mouse The Smiths Nick Cave The Antlers Thin Lizzy R.E.M. Bruce Springsteen Bob Dylan Now run along my friend, and give them a listen (At the very least give Neutral Milk Hotel a listen). Anyways, good song.
  • @BloodPump Pshhhh

....Ok I'll admit I've never heard of Neutral Milk Hotel (lol @ the name)

    I'll give them a listen

    ...and The Dodos too

Theres one thing you forgot as well

    Iron and Wine

    thanks :)

  • @im8teennow

Ahh, okay. Well in that case just Neutral Milk Hotel will do. Believe me you'll love them.

I haven't heard Iron and Wine myself yet, so there. We traded off something. Thank you, and you're welcome.

  • @BloodPump I am replying to thank you/ tell you that Aeroplane Over the Sea has been on repeat on my itunes library for the past +24 hours since I downloaded it.

I am grateful for your recommendations otherwise I never wouldve discovered Holland 1945 and Two Headed Boy <3

As for Iron and Wine I suggest Upward Over the Mountain.

Ive played it 1,872 times... its the 3rd most played song on my ipod.

check out their cover of Such Great Heights and Flightless Bird.

and Fever Ray "When I grow up"

  • @im8teennow Hey, I just happened to notice your conversation with im8teennow and noticed you liked Neutral Milk Hotel. I hope not to intrude, but I also am huge fan of Neutral Milk Hotel, and would like to recommend another band that bears a passing similarity to NMH. I've been playing The Rural Alberta Advantage's Hometowns album on repeat since finding it a few days ago after a friend recommended it. I hope to pass on the same recommendation to you :)

  • @billsfan4evR NMH id possibly the greatest band of all time in my eyes. Have you ever listened to Jordaan Mason and the Horse Head Museum. I think you would really dig them.

  • @im8teennow I mean you conversation with Blood Pump. Stupid no edit button.

  • @billsfan4evR Haha I know right. I did that too on another vid and said "Kanye West doesnt deserve to be in the same sentence as Kanye West."

    Lol fail

And I'll check out the Rural Albertas

Oh the wealth of musical enrichment to be had!

THANKS ARCADE FIRE FANS YOU ARE ALL THE BEST!

(except the snarky hipster ones but I dont count those :P)

  • I Love Arcade Fire And Radiohead But they are two completaly different bands with Different styles but with equal emotional output thats why people compare but we shouldn't.

Both are great and this song is unbelievable, END.
